Social Realism
Social realism is a genre that is mainly used in British cinema, this is due to the fact that many British filmmakers only have micro-budgets which makes genres such as science fiction or big blockbusters, social realism movies usually focus around a working class man or family usually living in an inner city environment dealing with stereotypical issues raised with lower class lifestyles like drugs, crime and violence. Audience The audiences age for social realism can vary due to the time the film is set however when talking about socioeconomics it is more likely that people from C2DE side of the scale are more likely to be interested in films that are social realism due to the fact that they can relate to the story lines and the characters portrayed in the movies more than people in the ABC1 side. Iconography - The most distinguishing factors of Social Realism against other genres is how normal everything is, the characters in it are normal everyday people, the locations are normal everyday locations, the clothes are usually normal to the time period it is set in everything about the film screams realism, there is nothing visually in the film which seems odd to the audience unlike action films with lots of violence or science fiction films with aliens everything with Social Realism is relatable by the audience. Potential Constraints There are very few potential constraints when operating in Social Realism, this is due to the fact that the budget is low and it can be filmed basically in houses or streets, the stories however can not be particularly elaborate as they have to stay realistic, the hardest challenge when operating in social realism will be the actors as they have to portray everyday people without being to stereotypical.

Psychological Thriller
This is a sub-genre of the genre Thriller, it mainly focuses on the emotional instability of the characters within the movies, it is usually focused around conflicts that happen with in one characters mind and he story is the process of one person overcoming themselves usually for their own benefit or to fit into society. Audience The audience for this genre is likely to be aged 18-80 this is due to the facts many of the topics touched upon in Psychological Thrillers are either unsuitable or hard to understand for people below 18 and people above 80 are unlikely to be interested in modern cinema. As Psychological Thrillers are usually not tied around class it is unlikely that anyone from either ABC1 or C2DE would not watch these films however due to the complex nature of the films it may put of people who arent educated as they may find the themes in the movie confusing. Iconography The most distinguishing factor of the Psychological Thriller genre will be the main character, he will be shown to stick out from the rest of the people within the movie however props and locations are likely to be everyday environments however the main character may visit places in his mind that are strange or distorted which you could identify with being more of a hallucination than an actual location, this especially will help people identify a movie with the Psychological Thriller genre. Potential Constraints The main constraint of this genre is the plot, creating a strong enough plot and being able to portray the narrative of a Psychological Thriller through a trailer successfully is very difficult due to the complex nature of films within this genre, also finding actors with the ability to play characters that are psychologically abnormal without being over exaggerative would be difficult to find with the little actors available.

Audience
The majority of the action genres audience is male, this is because violence, cars and objectifying women is more associated with males than females. The age of this audience I would presume to be between 16-30 this is because people below 16 shouldnt be subjected to violence and those over 30 have little interest in action films due to the young adult content. Talking socioeconomically I believed the audience is more likely to fit into C2DE that ABC1 due to action films not being seen as educated films.

Representation
Action genre films usually represent the men as being the heroes and villains, they present the male heroes as being a sex symbol, strong, trying to do the right thing and after some sort of female costar. In American action movies the bad guys are usually portrayed as countries like Russia and middle eastern countries, countries which they see as there enemy so it is easily identifiable with the audience that they are bad. Women are usually objectified as trophies and lustful prizes, they are usually very dependent on the men within the film and spend a lot of time in provocative outfits.

Narrative
Introduction to hero, details into the heroes past usually involved some sort of violence, hero goes about his normal life, villain potentially from his past or just blood thirsty causes some sort of disturbance in the heroes life, hero reacts trying to hunt down the villain for justice, hero gets close to villain, final fight villain loses hero wins.
