Pastors Corner
STEWARDSHIP SUNDAY
Today is the Sunday we have been waiting for in the parish, when we would be inspired by Leisa Anslingers sharing on Stewardship. We have prepared for this day through our preaching, stewardship messages in the bulletins and banners, sharing from people who experienced the beauty of this way of life and also through our prayer to embrace Stewardship. This day should bring us the good news of Gods goodness and our joy of being blessed, give us gratitude in receiving Gods blessings and make us generous in giving back to God. This day should help make a big start for our parish on the road to make disciples. We hope that this day brings great change in the way we look at our relationship with God and take our faith more seriously.

Deepest Condolences
Fr. Marios father, Pablito Elias, passed away on October 29th at the age of 78. Let us offer prayers that God will grant Fr. Mario and his family strength and comfort during this difficult time and for the happy repose of the soul of Pablito.

GODS MERCY ENDURES FOREVER

Last weeks gospel about the forgiven tax collector and this weeks story of Zaccheus speak about Gods patience, compassion and mercy. The spotlight on both gospels is focused on two public sinners (both tax collectors) who obtained pardon for their sins. Society may scorn and judge these sinners to be hopeless but Christ came to save them. Zaccheus wanted to see Jesus, but Jesus was more interested in him. Christ restored his dignity by coming to his house, and this changed his perspective about life and possessions. The grace of conversion made Zaccheus promise to make reparations for his sins, which surpassed the gravity of his faults. Gods love became a more valuable wealth for him so that he could afford to let go of things of lesser value. He found the true wealth in Gods unconditional love and forgiveness.

The LORD lifts up all who are falling and raises up all who are bowed down. Psalm 145

Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament

Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament will be held next Saturday, November 9th, from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm in the Daily Chapel. There is a sign-up book if you wish to attend at a specific time.

School News
Important update for VONS shoppers! Thank you for supporting St. Columba School by shopping at Vons. New in November...in order for St. Columba School to continue receiving credit from VONS you need to pay for your groceries with a debit card, check, or cash. The use of a CREDIT CARD will not generate funds for our school! Thanks for your understanding!!! Box Tops for Education: Please continue to send in your Box Tops found on various products such as Ziploc, Betty Crocker, Pillsbury and many others. This is a yearround fundraiser for St. Columba School. Thank you to the many parishioners who support this program!
