ruha lagna (AL) is the image of a person (or any body) which is the reflection of the ascendant about the lord of the ascendant. The ascendant is the physical personality & intelligence while the ascendant lord is the applied intelligence (Pka lagna). The ruha shows the way we are viewed in this world due to our overall personality and resources as well as due to its use and modifications. There are ruha for each of the twelve houses and they represent the images that exist in our minds. For example, the ruha of the fourth house represents the home environment at childhood. 1. Sagittarius - Sep 21-23, 2004: This was the time when the military career of Bush was questioned heavily leading to a marginal rise for Kerry in the polls where the large gap of +10% was reduced to around +5%. After the Moon left Sagittarius on Sep 23, Bush managed to recover some ground as his staff managed to undermine the allegations and discover falsity in vital documents which were presented against him. 2. Aries/Taurus - Sep 29 to Oct 4, 2004: This coincides with the presidential debate that begins at 9 p.m. ET at Florida's University of Miami. It is expected that John Kerry will clearly steal an edge over George Bush and further narrow down the polls margin to about +2-3 %. This is candrama for George Bush and will be very detrimental for him. The vice presidential debate is slated for Oct 5 at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio and although Edwards is expected to outshine Cheney, this may not happen. 3. Leo Oct 9-11, 2004: The second presidential debate is slated for Oct 8 (9 pm ET) at Washington University, St. Louis, Missouri when the Moon is in Asle nakatra which is more favorable for George Bush being in the 11 th from his natal Moon in Virgo while it is middling for John Kerry. The tenth house shows the party in power and the 10 th lord shows the president. If this is ill conjoined the party suffers and if the 10 th lord is ill placed then the ruling party candidate loses in the election. Significator for the ruling party is the Sun. 2. The 3rd house is the sixth from the tenth house and shows the opposition. If the 3rd house is well conjoined then the opposition is strong and determined while malefic planets placed there shows a weak and divided opposition. 3. The 3rd lord is the opposition leader or candidate and if it associates with the 10th house then the opposition candidate wins. 4. If the 10th lord is in the 5th house (public) then the people vote for the ruling party candidate while if the 3 rd lord is in the 5th house then the people vote for the opposition candidate.

1976 Elections

The tenth lord is strong but the significator Sun conjoins a very strong 3rd lord Mercury placed in the 3rd house. The fifth lord joins the 3rd lord in the 3rd house showing the strong sway of the voter towards Jimmy Carter in the 1976 elections.

1980 elections

In the 1980 elections, the Tithi pravea chart shows the 10th lord Sun ill placed in the 8th house indicating that the ruling party candidate shall lose. The 3rd lord Saturn (Reagan old man) conjoins the fifth lord Jupiter (people vote) in the 10th house indicating that Ronald Reagan the opposition (republican party) candidate comes to power.

1984 elections

In the 1984 Tithi pravea chart the 10th lord Rhu is very strong in lagna with the fifth lord (people vote) showing that the people shall strongly vote for a famous president. The 3rd lord Moon is very weak in the 9th house. Clearly Reagan continues in power.

1988 elections

The 10th and 5th lord Venus is very strong in the 5 th house showing the ruling party returning to power. The 3rd lord Jupiter is conjoined the planets in the 5th house showing that the opposition shall also be very strong and popular and shall make a very good bid for the presidency. The bdhakea (obstruction) Mars is placed in the 3 rd house showing that there shall be considerable difficulties in the path of the opposition candidates. A comparative strength between Jupiter and Venus the 3 rd & 5th lords shows that Venus wins. George Bush Sr. the then vicepresident of the Reagan government was elected as the president in 1988.

1992 elections

In the 1992 TP chart, the 10th house has a debilitated Rhu showing that the ruling Republican Party shall be very weak and the 10 th lord Jupiter is very badly placed in the 6 th house in the evil sakaa yoga with the 5th lord (people) Moon. It is evident that the ruling party and president are not very popular with the people during this year. The third lord Venus conjoins a strong Mercury and the Sun as well indicating that the opposition party has a very able candidate. The 3 rd lord Venus aspects the 10th house and confirms that the opposition Democratic Party candidate shall win. Bill Clinton became the next president of the USA.

1996 elections

In the 1996 TP chart, the 3rd lord Moon is in the 10th house showing the strong bid made by the opposition candidate for the presidency. However, the 10th lords Saturn and Rhu are aspecting or placed in the 5th hose showing the popular vote going to the ruling party president. The Sun aspecting the 10th lord shows that the power is retained by the ruling party.

2000 elections

In the 2000 TP chart, the battle lies are very closely drawn with the 3 rd & 10th lords in the 10th house with the Sun showing that both the planets are capable of winning and a stalemate occurs. In such cases we have to use the rules of conjunction and when Mars the 3 rd lord conjoins Mercury the 10th lord then Mars becomes beneficial and gets directional strength in the 10th house (opposition candidate benefits) while Mercury becomes malefic and ruling party candidate suffers.

2004 elections

Once again in the 2004 TP chart the 3 rd and 10th lords Mars and Mercury go to battle and the same argument that held the previous time shall hold good. The battle shall be very close and well fought but the opposition party candidate, although seeming weak in debility shall win as it has more directional strength and also gets cancellation of debility with the strength of Jupiter in quadrants to the Moon. The SunSaturn combination in the 10th house shows that the Republican Party is a divided house (although this may not show up outwardly) and indicates a negative vote from the people (Saturn is 5 th lord) who do not like strong administrative policies (Sun).
