3.1

Windows-based Systems
Using the "Direct Key" function
The "Direct Key" function can be used for the following controls on Windows-based touch-operated units: Button Invisible button State button

These three controls are collectively referred to as "button" in the following. When you configure a button with the "Direct Key" function, a fixed area of the touch display is reserved for direct key operation. Graphic elements that are located above the button having the "Direct Key" function in this area at run time visually conceal the button but operation of the touch display at this point will nevertheless result in the "Direct Key" function being triggered.

Warning Unintentional actions on the system can be initiated by operating the button and might possibly result in persons being endangered or in material damage.

The following points have to be taken into account to avoid this problem: 1. When configuring screens, graphic elements must not conceal the button containing the "Direct Key" function. 2. Dynamic updating of the position or the display (enable) of a graphic object as a function of process values must not result in the button having the "Direct Key" function being concealed at run time. It is essential for these requirements to be taken into account by the configuring engineer. Existing configurations must be modified without delay if necessary. The problem described above does not occur in the following cases if the button containing the "Direct Key" function is concealed: Operate message window Cancel screen saver Enter a value using the on-screen keyboard Run an external application such as Internet Explorer Activate the wipe screen ProTool recipe dialog boxes

3.2

New error messages during compilation

With a button having the "Direct Key" function, neither the position nor the display (enable) can be dynamically updated as a function of process values, since a fixed area of the touch display is reserved for direct key operation at the time of configuration. The following new error messages can therefore occur when you compile a project: Problem E3040 A dynamic positioning has been configured for button y in screen x in addition to the DP direct key function E3041 A dynamic enable has been configured for button y in screen x in addition to the DP direct key function Description The position of a button for which the "Direct Key" function has been configured cannot be dynamically updated. The enable of a button for which the "Direct Key" function has been configured cannot be dynamically updated. Remedy Remove the unauthorized dynamic updating.

Remove the unauthorized dynamic updating.

Faults Cleared

Faults Cleared
The following errors have been corrected after the installation of ProTool 6.0 with Service Pack 1a:

4.1

ProTool/Pro Runtime and Windows-based Systems

SIMATIC C7-635 Following the installation of ProTool 6.0 SP1a, SIMATIC C7-635 is available for use. Status button with black frame In order to clear the faulty black frame, the ProTool project must be generated again. In the case of the TP 170A, the image must also be reloaded. The image is located on the ProTool 6.0 Service Pack 1a CD in the "Images" directory. Faulty export of data records with array tags When all the data records were exported, the exported array tags were assigned the value 0. The export of individual data records, however, was correct. The fault in exporting all data records has been cleared. Button remains pressed (TP 170A, TP 170B) If a button was pressed too quickly several times in succession, it may have caused the 3D button to continue to be marked as pressed. In order to eliminate this fault, the image must be replaced. The current images are located on the ProTool 6.0 Service Pack 1a CD in the "Images" directory. Button attributes were not set In the case of buttons, it is possible that the attributes are not set when the button is released. This occurs when the following applies to the button: A control variable has been simultaneously configured as a parameter for a function to process bits (e.g. "Set_bit") and as a control variable for dynamization of the flash or color attributes.

In addition, one of the following display types has been selected in the "General" tab control: "Graphic" with "No graphics" or "Graphic list" with "No icon list".

This fault has been eliminated. Transfer to OP 270, TP 270, MP 270B Following the initial transfer to an OP 270, TP 270 or MP 270B, the dialog cannot be operated when the message "Transfer succeeded" has appeared.

Release 09/02

In order to eliminate this fault, the image must be replaced. The current images are located on the ProTool 6.0 Service Pack 1a CD in the "Images" directory. Archiving on memory card If the device is switched off while archiving onto a memory card is in operation, a dialog appears on restarting the device indicating that files on the memory card are defective. This dialog cannot be operated when using keyboard units. A restart is not possible. To clear this problem, the image must be replaced. The current images are located on the ProTool 6.0 Service Pack 1a CD in the "Images" directory. The fault occurs on the following units: OP 170B OP 270 6" and 10" MP 270 MP 270B MP 370

"Maximum nesting exceeded" message After a large Windows-based panel configuration has been downloaded to a panel, the system message "Maximum nesting exceeded" appeared. Runtime then terminated. Limit value check for return values within scripts If a value assignment "return value = input value" was programmed in a script, the limit value, of the tag configured as a return value, was checked only if the tag configured as an input value had a connection to a PLC. Processing system messages on Windows-based panels If only S7 Minimal was selected within a Windows-based panel configuration at System -> Messages -> System Messages, it was possible for the system (panel) to be inoperable at the time when the CPU was sent to the Stop state. If S7 Standard was also selected, this behavior did not occur. Decrease_Value and Increase_Value functions The Increase_Value and Decrease_Value functions did not work properly on a REAL tag. Importing a password list to Windows-based panels The password list import function only worked from the \flash\simatic directory. Trend display and detail function If the Detail function was used in a trend display, it was possible for the value of the read line to show just #####, although other values were present. Archiving message text with Asian and Russian characters Asian and Russian characters were stored as scratch characters during message text archiving.

MP 270: DP direct keys The DP Direct key functionality was not included (does not affect the MP 270B). Replace the image to correct the function. You will find the current image on the CD-ROM labeled "ProTool 6.0 Service Pack 1a" MP 370: "Date/Time PLC" area pointer The "Date/Time PLC" area pointer worked only once when the MP 370 started up. MP 370: Uninterruptible power supply (UPS option) When using the uninterruptible power supply, it was possible for the panel to become inoperable. The fault occurred only on the MP 370. Direct Key function on Windows-based touch-operated units On Windows-based touch units, it was possible for a button configured as a direct key to be triggered even though it had not been directly operated. This happened when another window or another application, such as the onscreen keyboard, message window, screen saver, etc. concealed this button and the application was run in the area of the concealed button. Furthermore, it was possible for a button that had been configured as a direct key and whose position or display was dynamically updated as a function of process values to be wrongly triggered. The error affected the following units: TP 170B TP 270 MP 270B Touch MP 370 Touch

Further information on this topic will be found above in the section on "Windowsbased Systems".

ProTool
The following faults have been cleared. Converting from TP 27 10'' to TP 270 10'' After converting a ProAgent project from TP 27 10" to TP 270 10", it often occurred that the configuration could no longer be opened. ProTool integrated in SIMATIC STEP 7 If a CPU was connected directly to a Profibus and an Ethernet branch, the Ethernet branch was selected for the operating unit for communication with the CPU. Since this access is not supported by ProTool, successful generation was not possible. Help button using SINUMERIK panels (OP 010, OP 012, OP 015) In the case of SINUMERIK Panel PCs OP010, OP012 and OP015, the full functionality could not be configured for the Help button. ProTool/Pro option SINUMERIK 2.0 If another PLC is configured in addition to a SINUMERIK PLC, AlarmS messages are not displayed properly. Drawing lines and altering zoom factors If a line was drawn in the ProTool picture editor set with a zoom factor of e.g. 200% and the zoom factor was then changed to 100%, the line disappeared following its selection. Functions with string parameters using Asiatic online languages If functions were configured with a string parameters in a ProTool configuration and an Asiatic online language defined, faults sometimes occurred while the configuration was being generated and the ProTool configuration was terminated. Text import/export Help text for screens and screen elements assigned more than 35 characters per line could not be imported. Text for graphic units could only be imported if a change in length did not result

Multiplex tags The conversion of projects containing multiplex tags or the copying of multiplex tags resulted in internal reference count errors. Symbolic tags and limit values If a limit value was configured for a symbolically configured tag, the configured tag was given the wrong symbols.

ProAgent
Transfer of authorization to an MP 270 with ProSave 6.0 In order to transfer the ProAgent authorization to an MP 270, the image on the MP 270 must be replaced. The current images are located on the ProTool 6.0 Service Pack 1a CD in the "Images" directory. Function "Displaying the result of criteria analysis in the message text" If the function "Displaying the result of criteria analysis in the message text" was used in ProAgent, the memory used for the arrival and departure of the message was not released again. This fault has been cleared. Problems at high loading At high loading there was no display of the criteria analysis result in the message text after a long run time. At high loading it was possible for problems to occur when exiting Runtime.

Graphic-oriented Operator Panels

Opening projects on TP 27 6'' and 10'' You want to open a project created with a ProTool version older than 6.0 and transfer it to a TP 27 6'' or 10''. If data records were already loaded on this unit, it was possible that the data records could no longer be read following the download. This fault has been eliminated. TP 27 and recipes Applies to all TP 27 operating units with 6" and 10" displays in conjunction with ProTool 6.0 and recipes modified using ProTool 6.0 on the above named operating units. If a TP 27 operating unit with a 6" or 10" display was in use and data records were newly created or modified on the internal Flash using the firmware version 6.0 (ProTool 6.0), the data was no longer legible (either immediately or some time later). Please carry out the following steps in order to clear this fault: If a backup copy of the data record exists which was not created using the firmware version 6.0, it is sufficient to read it in again following the installation of ProTool 6.0 + SP1a. It is immaterial whether the backup copy was made on a memory module using the ProSave tool or the Backup/Restore function. If upgrading to ProTool 6.0 + SP1a is carried out directly from a firmware version older than 6.0 or no data record manipulations have been carried out using firmware 6.0, the data records can continue to be used without any restrictions.

Operator Panels with Text-based Displays

The following faults have been cleared. Recipe entries In the case of OP7/17, a maximum of one recipe entry was displayed even when more recipes were available. Text lists in output fields The text list positioning in output fields appeared flush left instead of flush right. Danish and Portuguese character sets The Danish character was displayed wrongly on the OP. Portuguese characters such as or were displayed wrongly on the OP. The Spanish word "Direccion" was written wrongly on the OP. In Status/Force, the last character of the date format in Spanish (such as the X in HEX) was overwritten by the asterisk (*).
