A Fire One day, after finishing his homework, David felt very bored as he had nothing to do.

He spotted a box of matches on the table and started to play with them. David struck one match after another. Suddenly, the tablecloth caught fire. He tried to extinguish the fire, to no avail. The fire became very fierce and got out of control. David panicked and shouted for his mother. She ran out of the kitchen and saw the growing flames. Immediately, she alerted the fire station. The fire engine arrived a while later and the firemen managed to douse the fire. Some of the furniture in the living room was reduced to ashes. David was remorseful when he saw the damage he had caused. He had learnt his lesson and promised never to play with fire again.

A Picnic Last week, my family and I went for a picnic at Bukit Kancil. It was a fine day and we found the perfect picnic spot. The spot was quite close to the waterfall. There were a lot of trees which provided a cool and shady atmosphere. We laid out our mat and took out our things. My father, brother and I walked up the stream. The water was shallow, icy and clear. We could even see the pebbles. We also walked about collecting beautiful wild flowers growing in abundance. After that, we had a sumptuous lunch prepared by my mother. There were plates of sandwiches, cakes, cookies, fried rice and canned drinks. We also went jungle-trekking. Along the way, we encountered squirrels and monkeys. By the time we returned, we were exhausted and soon it was time to go home. It was a great day and I really had a lot of fun.
