NOTES OF LAST MEETING DP In relation to the Business robberies the Force team are extremely busy and have not completed the task yet therfore this will be passed onto the local crime officer. EH In relation to page 6 note 16, dealing does still occur at the bookies in Horton Square. MC Would like more information in the figures ZH Would like to thank the police for their involvement in the Mr Saleem murder case and funeral arrangements, see page 5 note 11 EH Raised concerns that not correct agencies are turning up the meeting e.g. councillors AM Discussed that Kalsoom who is the Youth Area Manager states that he is happy to attend future meetings and this is the position that youth services are in at the minute, Youth Services went under a huge saving plan, the idea is that we have what are called HUBS AND SPOKES these are large and medium centres in the Ward with Satellites centres scattered around which link back to the HUB. Further savings have had to be made (1.7m) some satellites closed down due to these cuts. Small Heath youth centre staffing has been restructured and the timetable will be available Septmeber 1st, Habid Ullah is the leader.

AM Ladywood has one HUB per Ward, Malcolm Cooper did do a list last year regarding what services are available in the area MC One youth centre not enough for Nechells Ward, want more for 13 19 yr olds. Raised issues what does the HUB actually do? How many Satelittes and staff have we lost? Problem with service is there are restrictions so not everyone gets a place. ZH Requested what the Police are providing in relation to Youth activities. DP Raised issue that there is not enough knowledge regarding services and that he will action the above. PW Raised concerns that not all youths want help and are happy to live on the street, need to engage in other ways. Data Issues DP Gave clarity on the areas and who covers which area, maps explained to group for Small Heath, Digbeth and Nechells and where the data comes from on the Police website. Reiterated that Police crimes are wider than the crimes the website and explained what the crimes mean. MC Requested that the data be up to date and that actions plans are in place to deal with crime and keep an eye on what are the main crimes. BCC Data AW Discussed the work that is ongoing in the Nechells Ward currently with other agencies i.e Police and residents. BCC wants to know what ASB issues and environmental issues are in the area and where is the evidence. Raised concerns that Small Heath becoming a big issue (Mount St) too big for this meeting this meeting is for short term issues that will become medium/long term issues. Requested that we look at the enforcement and education when dealing with issues. Raised concerns about using funding and resources better, asking residents what are their issues. DP When something cannot be dealt with at this level then it has to go further for example Mr Dutton Council Managers. PCSOs are covering whole area and gathering evidence. MC Raised concerns that its the agencies prioritising the issues NOT the residents, also raised concerns about where the funding coming from. Some roads not being looked at. ZH Requested clarification on what the Priority area is. EH Raised concerns that hotspots in Highgate are not being looked at properly, no one wants to help. Fleet Management not doing job on Mondays, leaving bags everywhere.
