Thank you for purchasing the Tone-Search Breakout Box interface for V-Guitar. FEATURES The Breakout Box allows you to connect and control two separate GK-compatible V-Synths using a single GK-ready guitar. Record and Play separate strings using a multi-track recorder or Digital Audio Work Station, with suitable soundcard or audio interface. With each string recorded on an individual track, separate string audio tracks can be enhanced with: noise-gating, normalize, re-tune, cut, paste, copy, delete, move, etc. You will find the list of sonic improvements to raw separately recorded strings almost endless! Hands-free patch-changing with: re-amping, re-guitar, re-tuning, effects, micro phone choice and placement. In short, find the perfect guitar, amp and effects for your song. Record separate strings for MIDI processing. Clean-up string performances with: noise-gating, cut, copy, paste delete and move etc. Then convert string data into a near-perfect MIDI track. Write V-Guitar patches you wouldnt normally think of and expand your Tone-Library. BREAKOUT BOX FUNCTIONS

GK SW Switches These switches determine whether or not control signals from a GK Pickups switches (DOWN/S1, UP/S2) will be transmitted to the corresponding GK device (ON), or not (OFF). Switch the GK SW to ON only for GK devices that you want to be affected by switch movements on a GK Pickup. GK VOL Switches These switches determine whether GK Pickup volume (GK VOL or SYNTH VOL) control signals are transmitted to the corresponding GK device (ON), or not (OFF). Switch the GK VOL to ON only on the GK devices that you want to be affected by adjustments made using the GK Pickups volume control. When the signals are not sent to a GK device, the devices volume level is set to maximum.

Cotton Wool is ideal for cleaning

For everyday cleaning wipe

the unit with a soft cotton wool ball, very lightly dampened with water. The silver paper finish is quite durable, although heavy handling will leave marks and impressions on the silver finish.

Never use benzine, thinners, alcohol or solvents of any kind, to avoid the possibility of discoloration and/or deformation.

Power Supply

Before connecting this unit to other devices, turn off the power to all units. This will
help prevent malfunctions and/or damage to speakers or other devices.

Placement

Using the unit near power amplifiers (or other equipment containing large power
transformers) may induce hum. To alleviate the problem, change the orientation of this unit; or move it farther away from the source of interference. 352

This device may interfere with radio and television reception. Do not use this device in
the vicinity of such receivers. 355

To avoid possible breakdown, do not use the unit in a wet area, such as an area exposed to rain or other moisture.

Additional Precautions

Use a reasonable amount of care when using the units buttons, or other controls; and
when using its jacks and connectors. Rough handling can lead to malfunctions. 556

When connecting / disconnecting all cables, grasp the connector itselfnever pull on
the cable. This way you will avoid causing shorts, or damage to the cables internal elements. 559a

When you need to transport the unit, package it in the box (including padding) that it
came in, if possible. Otherwise, you will need to use equivalent packaging materials.
