Post-Game Quotes
ANGELS MANAGER MIKE SCIOSCIA: How nice has the starting pitching run you guys have been on? We pitched well in the Cleveland series but unfortunately we dont have much to show for it, but here we did a great job and capped off by Weav this afternoon. When you look back at this series youre facing Felix and the only way youre going to beat him is for the pitcher to match him pitch for pitch and Garrett did and we were able to hold a small lead and win that game. Jason and Weav gave us a chance to win games and thats the template; it feels good to finally get a game on our template and work it out. Weaver pitching with a leadis he textbook in how to approach pitching with a lead? Theres no doubt. Weavs ability to get in the zone and also mix and match, change speeds, throw strikes, throw a lot of different pitches at each count, is gonna work in a game when you set up giving up some early runs. Teams are going to have to hunt and expand a little bit and he did this afternoonhe had a little bit left in him. 102 pitches was good, theres no sense in throwing 115 or 120 this afternoon, but its a good sign that he finished strong.
