Resources and Facilities in the university

Agriculture Research Farm : The University has a 189-acre agriculture farm with irrigation
facility where the students conduct research to develop innovative techniques of agriculture and
to display improved agricultural techniques.
GIS Lab : It is an up-to date and highly sophisticated lab. The students are trained in Remote
Sensing and Geo-Informatics. It has all kinds of updated softwares.
Computer Centre : Computer training is an integral part of the all University programmes. The
University has a very sophisticated computer centre as a central facility. It has 300 computers with
need-based updated software. In addition, there is a computer hardware lab. Internet facility for all
the students is also available.
Audio-visual Centre : For optimum use of the media, the University has an audio-visual centre,
where students are trained in photography and film making. A Video-Conferencing facility in the
university is a distinctive feature for distance education.
Laboratories : There are labs for various science, environment and technology educational
programmes. In these labs students conduct practicals on the theories taught in the class. The
labs are being made more sophisticated through support from the various projects. The construction
of new separate science, engineering and technology and management blocks is in progress at a cost
of Rs.3.37 crores.
Workshop : The University has a workshop where agriculture tools & equipment along with other
iron and wooden tools are housed/repaired. At this centre practical training is imparted to engineering
students.
Central Library (Jigyasa) : The University has a sophisticated (e-library) central library called
Jigyasa. It has 47890 text and reference books, 1200 video-cassettes, 100 audio-cassettes and
1000 CD-ROMs. It is fully computerized and gets UGC help through INFLIBNET Programme. The
library keeps a regular supply of research journals, abstracts, magazines and journals of various
subjects, employment related magazines along with other national and regional newspapers. Four
thousand four hundred fifty three National and International Research Journals & abstracts are
available under UGC INFONET Programme. An air conditioned reading room is available with
internet facility.
Yoga Centre : Yoga training is compulsory for all the University students and the task of imparting
theoretical and practical knowledge is being done by our competent Yoga teachers. The UGC has identified
/recognised Yoga centre as a quality centre for human consciousness and Yoga Science education.
Physical Education & Sports Centre : Indoor and outdoor sports facilities exist for physical
and mental alertness of the students. The students participate in the various sports competitions
conducted by the university.

Health Centre and Rasshala : There is an Ayurveda centre for regular health checkup and
treatment of students. It has Rasashala to prepare medicines by Ayurvedic methods.
Music Training Centre : The University has a music centre to give aesthetic shape to the
students musical aptitude. Folk music and puppetry are also associated with it. It also imparts
special training in Sugam Sangeet.

Participation in Youth Festivals : University students regularly participate in the Youth Festivals
organised from time to time by the Indian University Organizations.

Apprenticeship Training : University students are sent for apprenticeship to various industries,
laboratories and other centres to gain practical experience.
Hobby Courses : Many other diploma and certificate programmes are offered to promote the
skills of the students according to there interest.
Assembly Hall : The University has a well-furnished assembly hall to accommodate about 250
people, where seminars, conferences and other events are organised. Besides this the University
has an open theatre (Sadhbhawana Sabhagar) full of greenery with space to sit 5000 students.
Hostels & Living places : Separate hostel facilities are available on the campus for male and
female students. Another boys and girls hostels are being added that will provide accommodation
to 100 boys and 150 girls. Off-campus rental rooms are also available where students can live single
or share with other students.
Transport facility : The University has conveyance facility at a reasonable fare for the students.
Canteen : Canteen on the campus caters food and refreshments to the students. Male and
female hostelers have separate canteens.
Scholarship/Fellowship : SC/ST/OBC students are given scholarship/fellowship as per MP
Govt. regulations. Gaon ki Beti Yojana launched by M.P. Govt. is also available. Besides SC/ST
students can avail UGC sponsored fellowship to persue M.Phil. and Ph.D. Studies.
Rail Concession : Student's rail concession are provided as per the directives of the Railway
Ministry, Govt. of India.
Campus Interview : Many leading institutes and companies visit the University for campus
interview and select talents from the management, science, technology and other vocational
programmes.
Prayer Hall: To have a holestic development of students personality a well equiped prayer hall for
250 students is available.

GENERAL GUIDE LINES FOR THE CANDIDATES SEEKING

ADMISSION IN THE UNIVERSITY

Admission
1.1

Admission for every diploma / degree programme shall be made at the

commencement of the first Semester of each academic year.

1.2

The application for admission to a diploma/degree programme shall be made

in the prescribed form along with the application fee prescribed from time to
time and it should reach the Deputy Registrar (Academic) on or before the
last date fixed for the purpose. Each applicant shall submit attested passport
size photograph, copies of certificates, marksheets etc. along with
application form. Incomplete applications shall not be entertained.

Application form for admission

2.1

Application form and Prospectus for the advertised courses at the MGCGV
for session 2012-13 (excepting those conducted through VYAPAM, Bhopal)
can be obtained from the office of Chairman, Admission Committee during
office hours (10.00 A.M. to 5.00 P.M. ) on payment of Rs. 500/- or by post by
sending a demand draft of the above amount. Application form for M.P.
SC/ST & Women's Rs. 250/- For late fee Rs. 200/- shall be charged extra.
Application form may also be downloaded from the University Website
www.ruraluniversitychitrakoot.org and sent to the University along with
a DD for Rs. 500/-.

2.2

DD should be drawn in favour of the Registrar, MGCGV and payable at

Allahabad Bank, Chitrakoot (code 212371) or Union Bank of India,
Jankikund, Chitrakoot (code 542148)

2.3

The following information must be given at the back of the DD.

3.1

The applicant should complete the form after carefully reading and fill legibly
the required information at the place assigned for, in Hindi or English and
should make a tick mark (3). The filled form should be addressed to the
Chairman, Admission Committee, M.G.C.G.Vishwavidyalaya with the required
stamps affixed on it, or submit directly in the office of Chairman, Admission
Committee at the University.

Photostat copies of 10th standard Certificates bearing date of birth, 12th /

Graduation Exams marksheets / Certificates. The applicants who have
appeared for 12th class / UG / PG final year examination should submit a
certificate from the concerning head or principal as a proof. If the applicant
is a private student, he should append a Photostat copy of the mark sheet
of the previous year. The applicant should submit self-addressed postcard
and two stamp-bearing envelopes (12x23 cm) of Rs. 5/- each.

Domicile certificate of MP, caste Certificate, Income certificate (Issued only

by a SDM or Higher authorities).

5.

Reservations, Concessions, Relaxations

5.1

The reservations concession, relaxations and weightage will be given to the

candidates of different categories as per the university rules/MP government
rules.

5.2

Reservations shall be made for Scheduled Caste (16%), Scheduled

Tribe (20%), Other Backward Classes (14%), defence personnel and their
wards, physically challenged person and children or grandchildren of
freedom fighters (10%), outstanding sportsmen, cultural activities,
Gramodaya family etc. in admissions to the University as per Government
of Madhya Pradesh orders in force at the time of admissions; 30% seats in
each category reserved for female candidates.

5.3

Maximum age limit for admission in UG courses shall be 22 years for male
candidates. The age shall be calculated as on 1st of July of the year of
admission. However, there is no age limit for Female candidates as per
rule of the Govt. of Madhya Pradesh.
Relaxation in upper age limit shall be granted to the candidates belonging
to the Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribes, Backward Classes and

Provided that, this regulation regarding age limit shall not apply to the
candidates already in service of the university.
5.4

All applications received in the university shall first be screened on the basis
of merit, test and /or interview (as the case may be) conducted. An
Admission Committee, keeping in view the reservations/concessions for
different categories in accordance with the rules in force at the time, shall
make the final selections.

5.5

Application forms may be rejected on the following grounds.

(i) Application form without DD or erratic / faulty DD, (ii) Incomplete/erratic
application form, (iii) Application form received after the last date,
(iv) Application forms without duly signed photos, (v) Application form without
the applicants signature, (vi) Application form of over-age candidates,
(vii) Application form of the candidates having non-recognized degrees.

Entrance admit card

Admit card shall be posted at the applicants address after the receipt of
application form. If the admit card doesnt reach to the applicant, he may
get the duplicate admit card by approaching the university along with the
entrance exam prospectus and DD.

7.2

Examination will start at 11.30 am. The applicant shall be seated 15 minutes
prior to the examination time. Candidates coming late by more than 30
minutes after the exam has started, will be denied entrance examination.

7.3

Entrance examination test should be of 2 hours duration.

7.4

The candidates must submit the solved answer copies to the invigilator.

7.5

(Hindi & English) and related subjects. Question paper shall consist of
objective type, short answer type and multiple-choice questions. Intermediate
level questions for UG Programmes and Graduate level questions for PG

Eligibility
10.1

Applicants who have appeared for any final examination may also be given
provisional admission. They shall however have to submit the relevant
documents (marksheets and migration certificate) within 30 days of the
declaration of entrance result.

10.2

The University shall have the right to refuse admission to any candidate.

10.3.

The University shall deny admission to any student who had been convicted
by a court of law for any cognizable offence or whose character has not
been certified, or who had been punished for using unfair means in the
examinations, or is/was accused of moral turpitude or is known to be potential
trouble maker and bad character.

Enrolment / Registration
11.1

Enrolment (once in a total duration) and Registration (in each semester) of

a student in any study programme is compulsory and necessary for the
award of diploma/degree and a part of the admission procedure governed
by the admission rules. Each student shall enroll himself/herself at the time
of first admission in the University by filling the enrolment form who shall be
assigned an Enrolment No. This Enrolment number shall remain same till the
student continues his education in the University for any study programme;

11.2

Admission of new students failing to enroll in the prescribed manner on

the appointed date is liable to be cancelled and the seats so fallen vacant
shall be offered to the candidates in the waiting list;

11.3

In order to enroll himself as a student of the University, a candidate finally

University and shall not be returned, even temporarily, to the student

concerned under any circumstance.

In case a candidate who is offered a seat in the University does not join by
the last prescribed date his/her admission shall stand cancelled and the
seat fallen vacant shall be offered to the person next on the Admission
Waiting List.

Students freshly admitted, as well as continuing students, shall present

themselves in the beginning of each Semester on/at the place and the dates
notified by the DR (Academic) for Counseling where they shall be assigned
to Advisors/Course Instructors by the Dean/Director, concerned;

Each student shall be required to register for the subjects he/she proposes
to study at least one week before the start of the Semester. Student failing
to register within 7 days shall not be allowed registration without the
permission of the Dean of the Institute concerned;

Every student shall have an Advisor to help the students in planning the
programme of their studies who shall maintain a close contact with the
students allotted to him/her and keep himself/herself informed of their
progress.

Change of Field of Study

Based on the merit a student may be permitted to change his field of study
after second Semester if he has passed all the subjects and seats are
available in the desired field of study by the Vice Chancellor on the
recommendation of both Head of Departments and Dean of the
Faculties; provided he meets the qualification and admission requirement
fixed by the University/VYAPAM. This opportunity however, shall be limited
to a maximum of 10% of the total admitted students in the course.

Important Instructions

80% seats are reserved for candidates from MP. The rest 20% is meant for candidates
