Leadership Development
Program Outline This program is designed to assist clients with discovering and implementing the qualities of effective leadership. Students will understand how these qualities are developed; not inherited. Students learn how to create and foster; a shared vision, develop winning action plans, leverage the power of persuasion through effective communication and interactively solve problems. This program employs unique activities to introduce and reinforce leadership concepts such as Mistake Mapping and Continuous Improvement Processes (CIP) benchmarked from various industries. Program Outline This program equips students with the tools necessary to be successful in inspection and quality management in any industry. Students will learn how to execute advanced inspection tasks and verify conformance to specifications based on Color Harmony, Depth, and Fit and Finish. Students will learn how to identify defects using measuring devices and the 5 senses. Students will also understand how to conduct trial runs, analyze trial test data and use simple mathematics to determine test results. To register for a SBCTIProgram you must contact the Admissions department at the Canton, Michigan Head Quarters location. Early registration is strongly recommended. Please Note: Payment is due in full no later than the date of class unless other arrangements have been made. Refer to your student contract for details. Initial Enrollment: Students are enrolled in classes (Programs listed in the students signed agreement) and provided a copy of their transcript. Requests for Program/Program Changes: Requests for changes in Programs/programs must be made in writing to the admissions department minimally 48 hours prior tothe start of the class the student would like to make changes to. All tuition and fees paid by the applicantshall be refunded if requested within three business days after signing a contract with the school. All refunds shall be returned within 30 days. After the third business day has elapsed, the following refund policy goes into effect: 1) When written notice of student cancellation or withdrawalis received: With a minimum of seven business days notice, prior to Program/program start date students will receive a 100% refund of the full program tuition. In the event that an applicant applies and is admitted less than seven days to the date of the course or seminarandwishes to cancel prior to the start of the class, the student must file a written cancellation request with the administration office and will have 3 business days from the time of enrollment to petition for a full refund. With a minimum of six business days notice, prior to the program start date students will receive a 90% refund of the full program tuition. With a minimum of five business days notice, prior to the program start date students will receive an 80% refund of the full program. Beyond the fifth business day and up to the start date, tuition will be returned lessa processing fee, of not more than$75,and materials costs. If you do not attend the course or seminar and do not cancel or transfer prior to the start date, the course fee is non-refundable. Please Note: It is our policy to hold all courses and seminars. However, the SBCTI reserves the right to cancel or reschedule any seminar, if necessary, and to substitute presenters. We will gladly issue course and seminar fee refunds if cancellation is necessary, but we cannot be responsible for any airfare penalties or other travel expenses that may be incurred due to these changes. 2) Whenwritten notice of student cancellation is not received: There is no refund. Students should follow up with the administration office to verify receipt of cancellation request. All requests will be date and time stamped upon receipt. PROGRAM RECOGNITION If students previously attended and passed a Program included in a program, theProgram will be applied to the studentsSBCTI records. The Program will be recognized and reflected in the students transcript.

Credit for Programs acquired at other training facilities will be assessed and any transferrable clock hours will be put in writing and added to the students transcript. PROGRAM PREREQUISITES AND OUTLINES All SBCTI intermediate and expert Programs build upon skills developed in the basic and essential Programs. It is important that students are proficient in the skills presented in the foundation Programs before advancing. Complete Program outlines are listed above. GRADES Upon successful completion of each class every student will receive a pass/fail status and a certificate of completion. Mastery is a prerequisite to awarding a pass distinction which corresponds to an average of 70% or above on completed course work. Evidence of mastery shall be determined by one or more of the following methods: 1) unit tests; 2) written assignments; 3) skills performance checklist; and 4) comprehensive assessments of knowledge and skills. For students receiving fail status he/she will have to meet with an admission consultant to determine the students needs for an opportunity to retake the class. CERTIFICATES OF COMPLETION: SBCTI will issue certificates of completion for individual Programs as well as certificates of completion for entire program completion. There are no licenses issued at this time. JOB PLACEMENT ASSISTANCE Placement assistance is available for completion of specific programs. Job placement assistance is available by request. SBCTI makes no guarantees, warranties or claims on finding each student a job. PROGRAMWARE SBCTI includes Programware to students at the beginning of each Program/program.Lab fees where applicable. TRANSCRIPTS AND RELEASE OF STUDENT RECORDS SBCTI maintains permanent records as required by state and federal law for each student. Students requesting a copy of their transcript in person must present photo identification to admissions prior to receiving the individual transcript. Students requesting transcripts viaU.S.mail must submit a letter requesting the transcript. The letter must include: students name,address, phone number and signature.

Authorized representatives of a local, state or federal agencies and institutions thatfund SBCTI students will be provided student transcripts upon request. ATTENDANCE POLICY It is a requirement of all students to attend and complete a minimum of 75% of in class work. Students who are absent more than 25% of the available scheduled in class time may be subject toprobation or dismissal.

Please Note: A tardy will be recorded 15 minutes after class begins.Three unexcused
tardies will result in a recorded absence. Students are considered absent if they are more than 45 minutes late without consent from the instructor. A leave of absence will be approved by instructors depending on the severity of the issue. Any student can reapply for any class if they are unable to complete the class due to medical, family or other critical undertakings. First Day of Class/Module: On the first day of class students mustsign the class registration log and initial the log everyday thereafter. Students must sign and initial the registration log to receive credit for daily attendance. Instructors monitor and verify student hours of attendance. Make up work for excused absences

1. Students are permitted to receive credit for make-up work for excused absences only. 2. Students will receive one day to make-up work for each day of excused absence they have. 3. Students must submit a legitimate excuse for being absent one day following their absence. 4. The student must assume responsibility for completing make-up work. 5. Because of the nature of some subjects students may be required to complete all work assigned, whether the absence is excused or not. However, students will only receive credit for make-up work when the absence is excused. 6. A zero (0) must be given for unexcused absences. 7. It is the students responsibility to obtain from instructors all make-up assignments upon their return to class.

RULES OF CONDUCT

Every SBCTI student is expected to:


1. Be on time. Punctuality is required of each student 2. Be Prepared for class. Bring all materials required for the class with you daily (Program book, pen, pencil, etc.). Take care of personal needs (restroom, make-up, hair, drink of water, etc.) prior to arriving to class and on breaks. 3. Be attentive and participate. Pay attention throughout the class and participation is mandatory. Learn as much as you can. Students who are found sleeping will be asked to leave. 4. Be cooperative. Make your best effort to actively contribute to the class. 5. Be courteous. Show respect for your fellow students and SBCTI staff. Avoid profanity, harassment, sexual harassment, defiance and racial/ethnic intolerance. These types of comments and behaviors are unacceptable at SBCTI.

Sexual Harassment and Sexual Violence defined: Sexual harassment consists of unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, sexually motivated physical conduct or communication of a sexual nature. Sexual harassment includes, but is not limited to the following behaviors: Unwelcomed statements of a sexual nature. Unwelcomed solicitation or pressure for sexual activity. Intentional brushing against, patting or pinching of anothers body. Suggestive or obscene letters, notes, invitations, derogatory comments, slurs, jokes, epithets, unwanted physical contact, and blocking movements. Leering with sexual overtones, gestures, display of sexually suggestive objects, posters or cartoons. Indecent exposure.

Discipline Policy A student or prospective student may be disciplined, dismissed or barred from the class for tardiness; drunkenness or consumption of alcohol on the premises; rude, vulgar or disruptive behavior in the classroom; smoking or using tobacco products; or being generally inattentive (sleeping, reading, etc.) during class. Students terminated for violating rules of conduct may be readmitted at the discretion of the school director. See the Suspension Section for further details.

Harassment and disruptive behavior will not be tolerated. Students will receive two warning for such behavior, the first of which will be verbal the second written. Subsequent dealings of said conduct will result with the student being asked to leave the premises. Disrespect for SBCTI property and equipment (including downloading inappropriate content) will not be tolerated. Students may not connect personal property (thumb drives, phones, cameras etc.) to SBCTI hardware or equipment. Unauthorized devices will be confiscated, student will be asked to leave and the student may be held financially responsible for damages to the computer, servers, etc, resulting from viruses, spy ware, ad ware, Trojans and any other software that is detrimental to computing operations. Any equipment needed will be provided by SBCTI and covered in your lab fees. Software piracy or violating copyright rules and regulations will result in legal action.

Suspension
Suspension can occur on the basis of unsatisfactory work. Suspensions for Unsatisfactory Work are determined by the Institutes directors upon recommendation from Program instructor. Suspension will occur if a student is disorderly and is a dangerous to themselves and others. Suspension will also occur if students are found stealing or damaging the property of SBCTI or students in attendance of SBCTI and legal procedures will be determined accordingly. Students will not be allowed to reapply for other classes if it is determined that any of the following has occurred: 1) Found with a dangerous weapon. SBCTI Administration Staff reserve the right to decide what a dangerous weapon is. Examples are, but not limited to, possessing a fire arm, knife longer than 4 inches in length, carry a pad lock,heavy duty chains, or any other object which is not in and of itself a weapon as defined, but where the possession or use of the object is coupled with the intent to inflict body harm. 2) Found with illegal drugs, or alcohol, or controlled medication (like Prozac or antidepressants), without a doctor's prescription. 3) Assaulting any school employee or official. 4) Is convicted of a felony while enrolled in Training courses. 5) Physical fights where (i) victim sustains severe injury, (ii) an injury requires medical attention, or (iii) a weapon was used. 6) Bomb Threat. 7) Arson. 8) Sexual Assault. 9) Repeated offenses following suspension.

RE-ADMITTANCE INTO A PROGRAM If a student is suspended from an SBCTI program for any reason, the following procedure should be followed in order to re-enter the program: 1. The student must submit a letter to a SBCTI admission consultant requesting re-admittance to the program. 2. After reviewing the letter, the admission consultant will meet with the student to discuss the reason(s) he/she was removed from said program and how similar issues can be prevented should he/she be re-admitted to the program. 3. The Admission Consultant will collaborate with Executive Management for a new strategy for the student prior to approval for re-admittance to the program. 4. The student will sign a contract agreeing to the new strategy before re-admittance to the program takes place. STUDENT COMPLAINT/GRIEVANCE PROCEDURE In the event a student experiences a problem with a particular class or instructor the student should first discuss the matter with the instructor. If a resolutioncannot be reached, the student should then contact the Executive Management for help in the matter. A formal complaint can be lodged at SBCTI@sensiblebusiness.org. If further assistance is required, a formal complaint may be filedelectronically to the State of Michigan Proprietary Schools Division at www.michiganps.net or mailing a letter to Victor Office Center 2nd Floor, 201 North Washington Square,Lansing, Michigan 48913. DESCRIPTION OF FACILITIES SBCTI promises to provide a comfortable learning environment for all students.
