AIM: To describe the ideas of Fourier transform, Fourier series and partial differential equations and indicate their applications in their respective engineering discipline. OBJECTIVES: To make the students to understand the concept of periodic function and represent them in Fourier series. To introduce the concepts of Fourier transform. To impart a knowledge to the students in partial differential equations. UNIT I LINEAR ALGEBRA 9+3 Vector spaces, subspaces, basis and dimension - Systems of linear equations, linear transformations - Kernel and Image - Geometric ideas - Inner product spaces - Orthogonality - Orthogonal basisReflections and Orthogonal maps of the plane - Orthogonal complements and Projections.
