Advanced Operation: IntroScan: This feature allows playback of the first three seconds of each file in a folder. 1. Press MENU repeatedly to select a folder (1-6). 2. Press Back or Next until ALL shows on the display. 3. Press PLAY to start introductory playback, INTRO shows on the display. 4. Press PLAY to start playing the current file. Press STOP to exit IntroScan sooner. Play One/All: You can choose to play a specific file or all files in a folder. 1. Press and hold MENU for about 2 seconds and then release the button. The first menu item, DICT or CONF flashes on the display. 2. Press MENU again repeatedly until ONE or ALL flashes on the display. 3. Press Back/Next or Volume +/- to select between ONE and ALL. 4. Press STOP to confirm your selection and exit setting. Note: If ONE is selected, the player will stop after the selected file is played. If ALL is selected, the player will stop after all files in the folder are played.

Tones: You can activate this feature so that a beep sound can be heard whenever you press on any key except during playback and recording. 1. Press and hold MENU for about 2 seconds and then release the button. The first menu item, DICT or CONF flashes on the display. 2. Press MENU again repeatedly until BEEP flashes on the display. 3. Press Back/Next or Volume +/ to set the beep sound ON/OFF. 4. Press STOP to confirm your selection and exit setting. Speed: You can adjust the playback speed. 1. Press PLAY to start playback of a selected file. 2. During playback, press MENU once, SPEED shows on the display. 3. Press Back/Next or Volume +/- to select between FAST, SLOW and no speed indication (normal speed). 4. Press PLAY to confirm and start playback at the selected speed. Format: You can format the internal memory when needed (e.g. compatibility problem, etc.) Caution! All data inside the memory will be erased! 1. Turn on the player. 2. Press ERASE, DEL 01 (or the currently selected file number) will flash on the display. 3. Press and hold REC for three seconds, FORMAT will flash on the display. 4. Press and hold ERASE, the completed percentage will show on the display, formatting is in progress. 5. After the formatting is completed, the remain time of the selected memory will show on the display. Note: You may also format the player when connected to a PC (by right-clicking on the player's drive name or letter and select "Format" from the menu). Make sure you select FAT or FAT16 as the file system. Editing:

Caution:

The edit function does not operate when battery power is too low. Make sure play all files is not selected. Inserting new segments, adding appendix and cutting cannot be performed when play all files is selected. After editing a message, WAIT will be displayed. Do not power off the player until WAIT disappears. Otherwise, the memory which is rearranging could not be read or released until the player is formatted. Insert: You can insert new segments into a file without erasing previously recorded content.

1. Press PLAY to start playback of a selected file. 2. Press Back or Next to scan to the point that you want to insert the new segment. 3. Press MENU twice, INSERT will be shown on the display. Press REC. Press REC again to start recording new segment, INSERT displays. 4. Press STOP to stop recording. Append: You can add appendix (e.g. reminder, supplementary information) to the end of the file. 1. Press PLAY to start playback of a selected file. 2. Press MENU three times, APPEND shows on display. Press REC within three seconds to start recording appendix. 3. Press STOP to stop recording. 4. After the memory rearrangement completed, the player will go to playback stop mode. Cut: You can erase unwanted parts from your recording. 1. Press PLAY to start playback of the file with the unwanted part. 2. Press ERASE to mark the start of the unwanted part, CUT-S shows on the display. 3. Press ERASE to mark the end of the unwanted part, CUT-E shows on the display. 4. Press ERASE again to confirm cutting (or press STOP to cancel).

WAIT will show on display. 5. When the memory rearrangement is completed, the player will continue the playback. Notes:

All bookmarks will be deleted after inserting a new segment, adding an appendix or cutting is performed. Adding appendix, Inserting and cutting new segments will only update the recorded time length, without changing recording time and date.
