1Tornados

A tornado is a whirling mass of air. It is usually a large mass created by components

of thunder storms. Small swirling masses are known by different names; whirl winds,
dust devils, etc.

The movie Storm Chasers is one of a number of films that depict the creation of
tornados, their movement and resulting damage. What these films and scientists
never discuss other than where and when they might strike and their possible path,
is HOW to show or eliminate them. One could assume that science feels weather
phenomena like hurricanes and tornados and snow storms are always going to be
and their damage potential is strictly a throw of the dice. I challenge the
mandatory passive approach. I claim that all weather is affectable! We already
know that global warming is almost 100% man made! There are also mile ocean
weather fronts and killer ones [did anyone say Katrina?]

Having reviewed this movie after having seen similar ones, I can remember that
generally, tornados are born and seem to also die in “Tornado alley”, along a north
south route starting in Oklahoma, and heading north.

A few months ago, I wrote on one way to reduce the severity of snow storms. As a reminder,
one could use wind tunnel fans–such fans are large in size and put out enormous
amounts of wind. While a single fan of any size may seem like a beebe against
an elephant in comparison, the intent is not to cause a huge hole in the atmosphere but
instead, just push a bit of the clouds in the direction of one’s choice with a force greater
than that wind that pushed it over your community. With the use of several multiple thousand
horse power fans, one is likely to cause a wind to push “sitting” clouds slightly.

The same thing should work with [less cold] clouds that hold or give birth to tornados.
We know that storms that bore tornados are a mixture of warm and cold air–attached
to fronts–moving masses of air. It is my contention that a monitoring device which
depicts such air concentrations can guide one to the forming of tornados. When one
is spotted being created, if a team of fan mounted vehicles can be directed to the
side or front of such tornado, and set up like in an early John Wayne [put your wagons
in a circle to protect yourselves from attack] manner, with these huge fans forcing
their air flows towards the tornado–even at several blocks distance–it is felt that the
large income flow of air [from the fans attached to the vehicles] all hitting the tornado
will do a few things; offer its “first ever” resistance [other than the items the tornado
runs over] in that it “attacks” the tornado. This man made air flow pushes against
this beginning funnel. In all of history, the funnels have been formed and have become
dangerous because they are free moving entities–with nothing “coming at them.”

While the air coming from a huge fan may only be hitting the tornado at the speed of
60 to 100 miles an hour and the tornado might be swirling at 200 miles an hour,
it is felt that this would be the first ever continuous resistence brought to the swirling air.
Also, tornados operate along side storms that carry lightning. By having resistor like
materials available to toss at the wind, it is felt the ferocity of lightning can also be
reduced. Lightning is a causation as is a tornado. If air is forced upon [aimed] upwards
at the lightning as well as the tornado, for the first time ever, a small counter force
will be involved. Some science says that with every force, there is an equal and opposite
force. If these fans begin to even slightly reduce the power, or direction of a tornado
humans will be taking the first steps ever in the race to go from pure passive victims to
having a minuscule but more than no role, in dealing with these vicious winds.

It is also felt that if a team of “counter force” scientists can be a the site of a tornado
as it is being born, with the combination of these fans and other actions, perhaps
the tornado can be still born!

The other actions considered, however absurd they might sound, at least offer again,
a counter force to “killer” winds. Some of these additional actions include battering rams
in the form of a sideways carousel that hit the wall of the forming tornado.

Another attach choice would be to use water force from several fire engines to add
a weight component against this growing circular flow of air.

A more drastic suggestion being considered is the use of military tank firepower. It is
not known whether a round from a tank could be set to explode at a specific distance–but
if it could, it could cause a fantastic change in the air since all explosions are expansions of
air with metal or other components.

If a controlled approach were available, and a circle that included the monster fans,
fire truck, battering ram carousel and finally, military tanks were available, it is felt
that a combination used simultaneously would provide a large shock and disruption against such
winds. All tornados inevitably dissipate themselves into calm air an thus, die. It is thus
felt that tornados are the causation of UNDISTURBED swirls of hot and cold air, along
with ground material. It seems only logical that if, ideally at formation, these swirls
are disturbed by man’s invention, the tornado should be stoppable!

[Many of us have seem pictures of tornados that grow to 1 and more miles
in diameter. My suggestions above are not meant to affect this sized swirl, but instead, only
those in their first few minutes of birth.]
