WOLF TRACKS
I got to hold two babies today, two bundles of energy named Levi and Landon, the twin sons of Skye and Wade Kimbrel. We had the high privilege to be present at their baptisms this past Sunday, July 21st. By the time you read this, their big day will be a memory, but it doesnt stand in isolation. Do you remember that little stretch of scripture Paul wrote to Timothy? Here it is: I am reminded of your sincere faith, a faith that lived first in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice and now, I am sure, lives in you. For this reason I remind you to rekindle the gift of God that is within you through the laying on of my hands; for God did not give us a spirit of cowardice, but rather a spirit of power and of love and of selfself-discipline. (2Timothy 1:51:5-7) Wow. A faith that transmits with power from generation to generationour faith. Just think about this for a minute: Cindy to Skye, to Levi and Landon. And I havent even taken it upstream

Student Proverbs
A first grade teacher collected old, well known proverbs. She gave each child in her class the first half of a proverb, and had them come up with the rest. Better be safe than...... punch a 5th grader. Strike while the.......bug is close. It's always darkest before.........daylight savings time. You can lead a horse to water but...............how? Don't bite the hand that.........looks dirty. A miss is as good as a ........Mr. You can't teach an old dog new...........math. If you lie down with the dogs, you'll..........stink in the morning. An idle mind is...........the best way to relax. A penny saved is.......not much. Laugh and the whole world laughs with you, cry and........you have to blow your nose.

Dear Church Family, A lifetime is too short and my warmest words too few to thank those whose thoughtfulness and prayers brightens my days and touches my heart. I hope you know how warmly First United Methodist Church is appreciated in my heart for your prayers and support. Abundantly Blessed, Cinda Krenzin

True Beauty
Dear Friends, We have belonged to this church for 59 years. We will miss all of you. Melvin & Donna Willis #2 Fields Ct. Newton, KS 67114
For Attractive lips, speak words of kindness. For lovely eyes, seek out the good in people. For a slim figure, share your food with the hungry. For beautiful hair, let a child run their fingers through it once a day. For poise, walk with the knowledge that you never walk alone. People, more than things, have to be restored, renewed, revived, reclaimed, and redeemed. Remember, if you ever need a helping hand, you will find one at the end of each of your arms. As you grow older, you will discover that you have two hands, one for helping yourself and the other for helping others. Sam Levenson
