Summary of 10 new features on Windows 8 1.

ARM structure The first news about Windows 8 brought by Microsoft should be the support of ARM structure. As early as the CES 2011, Steven Sinofsky brought this news to us. The partners of Microsoft are NVIDA, Qualcomm, Texas Instruments and TI, etc. 2. Brand-new Metro UI: start screen The most intuitive and significant change of Windows 8 would be the brand-new start screen which would definitely largely optimize the user experiences on tablet computers. This interface is much like Windows Phones since each application will be displayed in the form of Title paster. Whats more, the paster of each application is activity which could provide us instant messages such as weather. 3. IE10 Undoubtedly, a new version IE will be released with the release of Windows 8. That is IE 10. IT 10 could provide the applications and interaction of HTML5 network applications on the start screen. IE 10 will support more WEB standards and hardware acceleration. In addition, it will be optimized based on touch operations. 4. Brand-new start button and start menu Microsoft has accidently leaked the start button and start menu of Windows 8. The new start button looks much more 2D and much simpler. The whole Windows buttons have been merged into the task bar. The start menu has also adopted the Metro design. It has also used text and icons, but there are only 4 options that are settings, equipment, share and search. However, its still unsure until now because we cant learn if it is the default settings of Windows 8. 5. Windows resource manager The resource manager of Windows 8 has adopted the Ribbon interface. It has retained the functions and richness of the previous Windows resource manager and put the most commonly used ones on the prominent position of the resource manager. In this way, users could easily find these functions, for instance, the home menu of this new resource manager has provided us the core file management function including copy, paste, delete, recovery, shear and attribute, etc.

6. Integrated virtual drives/hard drive The resource manager of Windows 8 could enable users to directly load ISO and VHD (virtual hard disk) files. Users only need to select an ISO file and click Mount button, Windows 8 will instantly create virtual drive and load ISO image and will allow users to visit the files on it. When you click Eject after the visit, the virtual drive will also automatically disappear. 7. Support of USB 3.0 Windows 8 could native support USB 3.0. As we know, the data transfer speed will be up to 5Gbit/s after the adoption of USB3.0 which is 10 times of the current USB 2.0. According to the demo video of Microsoft, the 2GB videos and 1GB images could be transferred in a few seconds. 8. No built-in Dobby DVD recording technology The director of Dobby laboratory has reported that its Dobby DVD technology wont appear in Windows 8. Some analysts says that because of the popular of the streaming media movies and cloud software services and the expensive cost of DVD recording technology, Microsoft decides to give up this technology in Windows 8. 9. Windows media center On the early September, Steven Signofsky has said that although the development of Windows Media Center is not very good, some functions which have been applied on Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7 will continue to appear in Windows 8. 10. Windows 8 will integrate Xbox Live The vice president of Microsoft Mike Delman has said that Xbox Live will be integrated into Windows PC so that to provide users better game experience.
