STOP DRUG ADDICTION

It is difficult to escape the influence of illegal drugs but we must try to. 13.9% of those aged 16 to 59 have used an illegal drug at least once and 2.9% of world population are regular drug users. I believe we should start to take measures on the topic Drug Addiction before its too late, and you should too. There are two types of addiction: Physical and Psychological. Physical addiction is when a person becomes dependant on a particular drug and Psychological addiction is when desire of the person to use drug becomes so strong. Physical addiction is easier to stop than psychological. However, they both end us in destroying us, human beings. When I was young, I always wondered about why people use drugs even though they know that drugs are bad for their health. I thought that they used because it gave happiness when they were bored, but I was wrong. There are more reasons behind a person who uses drugs. The drug abusers may have family problems, peer pressure, untreated physical pain, a family history of addiction and the worst of all, mental illness. I was so sad and shocked when I found out mental illness could turn a person into a drug abuser. It had already been bad for that person that they have the fate to have mental illness, let alone drug addiction too. Those poor humans must be influenced by the environment to fall into the trap of drugs. The drugs would make the mental illness become worse. If you are one of the people with common sense, you should try to stop drug addiction even only for the sake of them because they dont have the chance to become educated enough to know what is good or bad for them. There are three main types of drugs: Socially accepted drugs (e.g. alcohol, caffeine in coffee), Medicinal drugs (e.g. penicillin and aspirin) and Drugs of abuse (depressant drugs, stimulant drugs, hallucinogenic drugs, opiates, inhalants). The worst of the three types are drugs of abuse because they can depress and stimulate the nervous system easily. There are organizations such as CNB (The Central Narcotics Bureau) where they will help you to combat drug abuse (e.g. helping drug abusers acquire useful skills). There are many side-effects of using drugs. They are transmission of diseases (e.g. AIDS), committing crimes to get money to buy more drugs, inability to sleep, abnormally slow movements, severe weight loss or gain and etc. Conversely, it can also give someone happiness but only for a while. I strongly advise you to stop using drugs because there are many bad consequences and the happiness you can get is only temporary not permanent. Its the same thing as when the electricity passes through the paper clip. The paper clip becomes a temporary magnet while electricity passes but it can never become permanent. A successful journey hinges on an individualized, comprehensive and integrated approach to the healing process. A variety of methods exist to help people in their process of recovery. Some

people might recover on their own while others recover through treatment or the assistance of selfhelp. Here are some tips for you if you want to stop DRUG ADDICTION: -Be honest with yourself. -Be firm and patient. -Learn to walk away from using drugs. -Eat healthy stuff. -Seek a support system. -Return to your old healthy habits. -Focus on family and family. The percentage of the population using illegal drugs increased from 6.3% in 1999 and 2000 to 7.1% in 2001. So, I believe a world population with no drug abusers is the important thing for our future. We should start protecting our young generations from the influence of drugs. If we dont do anything to stop drug addiction now, the world after 100 years will look miserable with many drug users. We can still try to prevent abusing drugs. Its not too late to make a difference and stop drug addiction now. Please help me fight drug addiction.
