This is a quote from Walt Disney himself, the creator of one of the worlds most recognized and popular charters of all time: Mickey Mouse. I remember as a kid waking up each morning to watch the little mouse go on a picnic with Minnie, or help his friend Donald or even get into trouble with Goofy, and Im sure your parents remember as well as their parents. This mouse has been a part of American history for over 80 years and continues to remain so. Conclusion Lets look back on what weve learned today about our beloved rodent friend. Weve learned that Mickey was invented by one of the most creative and imaginative people of our time, Mr. Walt Disney. His film debut in Steamboat Willie was the beginning of a very prosperous career and has made him the king of animated short film. Hes gone from a steamboat captain to the main attraction at Disneyland, and along the way has made us laugh and earned a place in the hearts of millions of Americans. Hes evolved physically each year resembling more of the times, and emotionally with his admiration for Minnie and his concern for his gang. Today the legend lives on in his films, theme parks, toys, and most of all, he is the universal object of innocence. To end with a thought from Disney himself on the creation of Mickey: "I only hope that we don't lose sight of one thing - that it was all started by a mouse." ~Walt Disney.
Audience Analysis This speech is appropriate for my audience because Mickey Mouse has been and will always be a part of our history. He is a universal character and is reminder of childhood and the friends- Donald, and Goofy- that he brought along with him. I hope to inform them about the creation of a character and how he grew into much more, but the creator was able to keep his head on and remember why he started drawing in the first place. Because he loved what he did, and thats an honorable quality.
