Participants Making A Difference

Michael Battle is a long time dedicated participant of clinical studiesalmost 20 years! His story began in 1995 when he saw an ad in the paper for a clinical trial on cholesterol. At the time he was not very conscientious about his health or his eating habits. He did not even know what his cholesterol level was. His participation in the study resulted in him nding out how high his cholesterol level actually wasit was in the high 200s. This prompted him to become more aware of his diet and overall health. Pizzas and junk food became a thing of the past. Within six Participating in clinical months Michaels chostudies is a great way to lesterol levels dropped 100 points through diet earn good money and pay alone. the bills. Michael quickly found that participating in clinical studies was a great way to earn good money and pay the bills, not to mention staying healthy. He ended up quitting his real job and made this his full time job. He even recruited his parents into participating in diabetic studies, once they both became diabetics. They too came away from the studies becoming more conscientious of their health and eating habits. Michael would travel coast to coast participating in studies at Celerion as well as other companies. He moved to Phoenix back in 05 and has been participating in studies with Celerion since then. Michael rates Celerion as a cut above the rest. He believes it is a combination of factors that makes Celerion stand out: better compensation, clean and comfortable facilities, and friendly staff. He considers his stays as vacationsa great way to get away from everyday life, being provided 3 meals a day and an air conditioned environment, which cant be beat during the long hot summer months. Michael has completed over one hundred studies, the longest being a 60 day study divided into two 30 night stays.

He has kept detailed records of all the studies he has completed. He makes it a point to stay healthy and keep his weight within a certain range since he knows how important they are in order to qualify for studies. He no longer has health insurance but nds that the study screenings help him monitor his health. Michael has a great attitude and mindset and he takes his job seriously and treats it as any other paying position. He has great respect for the clinical staff and believes in making his stay enjoyable for all involved. He has built many friendships over the years and is still in touch with fellow participants. Michael plans to retire from clinical studies in a couple of years. He has dedicated much of his time towards clinical research and would like to pursue other ventures.
