NEW STANDARD published and ready for use

IEC 61850-7-410 Communication networks and systems for power utility automation Part 7- 410: Hydroelectric power plants - Communication for monitoring and control
The FDIS (Final draft international standard) - 57/886/FDIS - has been approved in July 2007 by 100 per cent !! (Preview of the standard, other parts)
The new standard adds another 60 Logical Nodes to the IEC 61850 series (the new LNs in IEC 61850-7-410 are marked in red) see below. The first procurements refer already to this new standard First vendors of hydro power plants and control systems have started to implement the new standard ... the largest Hydro Power Plant worlswide (Itaipu Binacional, Brazil) received already an intesive training by Christoph Brunner and Karlheinz Schwarz: Need help or training? Contact Karlheinz Schwarz, editor of IEC 61850 and IEC 61400-25; member of IEC TC 57 WG 18 (Hydro power extensions for IEC 61850) ... we have the right training ... we have already trained 20 experts of the Itaipu Binacional Hydro Power Plant in Brazil ... Excerpt of training material on the new standard [150 KB, pdf] Training Program for 3 1/2 days in-house course for power plant DCS vendor [0.5 MB, pdf]
