17. Note for UK only: If the colors of the wires in the mains lead of this unit do not correspond with the terminals in your plug
proceed as follows:
a) The wire that is colored green and yellow must be connected to the terminal that is marked by the letter E the earth symbol
colored green or colored green and yellow.
b) The wire that is colored blue must be connected to the terminal that is marked with the letter N or the color black.
c) The wire that is colored brown must be connected to the terminal that is marked with the letter L or the color red.

19. The on/off switch in this unit does not break both sides of the primary mains. Hazardous energy can be present inside the
chassis when the on/off switch is in the off position. The mains plug or appliance coupler is used as the disconnect device, the

Whether you have purchased a VYPYR 15 or a VYPYR Tube 120 you have made the decision to

After 43 years of experience building tube amplifers and working with analog distortion, Peavey
has fnally combined true analog distortion with advanced digital effects algorithms to create the best
sounding modeling amp on the planet, period. The VYPYR is signifcantly different from other mod-
eling amplifers for several reasons, but the primary reason and key to tone is ANALOG distortion.

266 MHz Dual Core SHARC. This amazing combination of technology allows the VYPYR to operate

Before you begin playing through your amplifier, it is very important to ensure that the product has the proper AC line
voltage supplied. You can find the proper voltage for your amp printed next to the IEC line (power) cord on the rear panel
of the unit. Each product feature is numbered. Refer to the front panel diagram in this manual to locate the particular fea-
tures next to its number.
VENTILATION: For proper ventilation, allow 24" clearance from nearest combustible surface.

Turn this knob to select your desired pre-amplifer effect if any. Just think, 11 pedals youll NEVER
have to buy! Press the encoder momentarily to enter Edit mode (15).

2 - Amp Encoder
Turn this knob to select your amp model. If the LIGHT IS RED you are on the HIGH GAIN CHAN-
NEL. If the LIGHT IS GREEN you are on the LOW GAIN SETTING. Press and HOLD FOR 2 SEC-
ONDS to enter tuner mode. The LEDs around the Amp encoder will identify which note you are tuning
(or the closest note). At the same time the LEDs around Effects encoder (3) will indicate whether the
note is sharp or fat. If the green LED is to the RIGHT of the 12 oclock position you are SHARP (tune
down). If the green LED is to the LEFT of the 12 oclock position you are FLAT (tune up). When ALL
of the LEDs AROUND THE EFFECTS encoder come on, you are IN TUNE!
3 - Effects Encoder
Turn this knob to select any rack effect. These are effects you might fnd connected to the effects
loop of an amplifer. Press the encoder momentarily to enter Edit mode (15).
4 - Pre Gain
Turn this knob to crank up the gain and dial in the amount of distortion you want out of the amplifer. In
Edit mode, this knob controls parameter one of either the selected Stompbox or Effect (15).
*No drummers were harmed in the making of this manual.

5 - Low Encoder
Low EQ adjustment. In Edit mode, this knob controls Parameter 2 of either the selected Stompbox or
Effect (15).
6 - Mid Encoder
Mid EQ adjustment. In Edit mode, this knob controls the feedback of the delay effect. Feedback is
just the number of times the delay repeats.
7 - High Encoder
Hi EQ adjustment. In Edit mode, this knob controls the level or amount of the delay effect. All the
way to the left is zero and all the way to the right is max.
8- Post Gain
This is the individual preset volume. In Edit mode, this knob controls the amount of reverb.
9 - Aux Input
Plug in your favorite mp3 player, drum machine or CD player and play along.
10 - Master Volume
Turn it up, ours goes to 13!

11 - Power Sponge

Found on the VYPYR 75 and 100 only

This knob allows you to turn down the output section of the amplifer. Dont confuse this with the
Master Volume control. Power Sponge adjusts the amount of power the amp is capable of producing.
This patented circuit allows you to get that full-on cranked sound at bedroom levels.
12 - Power
Turn it on! Since VYPYRs have such advanced processing, they require a few moments to boot up.
Its very quick and you may not even notice it. On the VYPYR tube amplifers you will fnd the addi-
tion of a Standby switch. This switch allows time to warm up the tubes. Tubes need to be hot in order
to produce the desired power and tone. We suggest you allow at least three minutes before turning the
standby switch on.
13 - Bank and Preset Select
Your VYPYR comes equipped with 12 factory presets. These presets are in groups of 4 and savable
to banks A, B and C. To select a bank simply press the button at the far left. The LED will indicate
which Bank of four you are currently on. Select which preset youd like to hear by pressing one of the
four buttons to the RIGHT of the BANK BUTTON. If you want to erase our preset and put yours in,
NO PROBLEM. After you have confgured the amp and it sounds good, then PRESS AND HOLD
ONE OF THE PRESET BUTTONS just like a car radio. Your tone is saved.
14 - Tap Tempo
Tap on this button to set the tempo of the Delay effect. If you ARENT HEARING ANY DELAY,
enter EDIT mode (15) to TURN THE LEVEL UP.
CAUTION: The on/off switch in this unit does not break both sides
of the primary mains. Hazardous energy can be present inside the
chassis when the on/off switch is in the OFF position.

15 - Edit Mode
Okay this is where it doesnt get complicated. Edit mode simply changes encoders 4-8 to their alter-
nate function as indicated below the encoder. When in Edit mode, the Edit mode LED will either be
GREEN if you are editing EFFECTS, or RED if you are editing STOMPBOxES. To enter Edit mode
simply press either the Stompbox encoder (1) or the Effects encoder (3). To exit Edit mode simply
press the same encoder again.
Any time you want access to the Delay or Reverb you will need to enter Edit mode!
16 - Headphone/Record Out
We really spent a lot of time making sure the headphone jack was studio quality, and because of that
with the proper adapters (not supplied) you can use this output for recording. NOTE: SPEAKER IS
MUTED WHEN HEADPHONES ARE IN USE! Master Volume (10) controls headphone level.
17 - USB Record Out Not available on the VYPYR 15 or 30
The VYPYR USB Record out requires no drivers. Just plug a standard USB cable into your computer
and it will detect your VYPYR as an audio device. Open your favorite recording program and start
recording. Dont worry, the output is microphone/cabinet simulated and will sound great right into your
computer. NOTE: Speaker is intentionally muted when USB output is in use although the headphone
output is active for real time monitoring.

What is with the crazy light show?
It is to keep our amps from getting bored when they arent doing anything. Dont worry, when you
plug your guitar into the amp the light show will automatically stop and will remain off for the
remainder of your session. If your cable is plugged into the amp when you power on, the light show
will remain off. If you want to disable the light show entirely, simply press and hold preset buttons
3 and 4 simultaneously while turning on the amp. The next time you turn on the amp, the light show
will be disabled.,
Selection Encoders
To the right of the input jack the VYPYR

is divided into THREE SECTIONS: STOMPBOx select,

AMPLIFIER select, and EFFECTS select control encoders. By turning any of the encoders you will
notice the corresponding LED will indicate the item you have selected.
Why didnt you put the amp knob on the left like other amplifers? The THREE sections are po-
sitioned from left to right in the ORDER you would fnd them in the signal path. STOMPBOxES usu-
ally come BEFORE the amplifer in the signal path, therefore we thought it best to put them FIRST on
this amplifer.
Selecting Alternate Speaker Voicings:
Vypyr is equipped with 4 different speaker voicings that you can choose from, depending on your
personal taste. Choosing between them is very easy. Simply hold down one of the preset buttons
while powering up, and you can choose from the following:
The default voicing. 1.
Darker voicing on all models. 2.
Brighter voicing on all models. 3.
Brighter for the 120W, 60W and 100W models, Darker on the Head, 75W and 30W models. 4.

The frst encoder to the right of the input jack is the Stompbox selector.
This control selects the Stompbox (Traditional foor effects unit) which
is exactly like connecting your guitar to your favorite pedal and then
into your amplifer. With the Stompbox encoder you can select several
unique distortion and boost pedals, combine these with clean (or lead)
amplifer settings and get some pretty amazing tones. Simply turn the
Stompbox encoder to select the effect you desire. If you want to adjust
the parameters, simply PRESS the ENCODER to enter EDIT MODE
(See Edit mode in Quick Start Guide)
Here is what you will fnd on the Stompbox encoder
XR Wild
Super hot overdrive pedal great for creating crunch tones in front of a clean amp setting. Or, use it
in front of a dirty amp for a screaming, sustaining lead tone. Parameter adjustments (Edit mode):
P1 Level, P2 Drive.
X Boost
This setting is a type of BOOSTER, not really a distortion pedal or a clean boost. The effect colors
your tone with a crunchy overdrive that boosts certain frequencies and warms the tone. Parameter
adjustments: P1 Level, P2 Drive.
Fuzz
Classic fuzz tone from the 60s and 70s. Try it with a clean amp setting on the Amp encoder. Param-
eter adjustments: P1 Level P2 Drive.
BC Chorus
This unmistakable warm analog chorus model will no doubt be a staple in your preset arsenal. Param-
eter adjustments: P1 Speed, P2 Depth.
Squeeze
This COMPRESSOR allows you to set the OUTPUT LEVEL and the SENSITIVITY at which it kicks
in (Edit mode). Compressors can produce percussive, clicky sounds on clean guitar or mellow sustain
for lead work. Try this stompbox effect on a clean channel and strike the strings softly at frst and then
harder to HEAR and FEEL the effect. Parameter Adjustments: P1 Level, P2 Sensitivity.

Try combining a TubeScrm with a clean (Green LED) Dlx!

Ring Modulator
The Ring Modulator combines two waveforms and plays the sum and difference of the frequencies
present in each waveform. As you will hear this effect is certainly a little off the wall, but can be
a lot of fun. Parameter adjustments: P1 Carrier Frequency, P2 Mix.
Auto Wah
The Auto Wah uses frequency flter sweeps in the range typically associated with vocals to give the
guitar a wah sound. Parameter adjustments: P1 Speed, P2 Sweep Depth.
Analog Flange
Flanging is a time-based audio effect that occurs when two identical signals are mixed together
with one signal slightly delayed. This delay produces a swept comb-flter effect.
MOG
An effect of our own creation. MOG stands for Monophonic Octave Generator. Basically we
generate a signal ONE OCTAVE ABOVE the signal you are playing and another ONE OCTAVE
BELOW. This effect can get a little gnarly when used with chords so try it with single notes at frst.
Parameter adjustments: P1 Octave UP level, P2 Octave DOWN level
Analog Phase
Analog Phase is an effect commonly confused with Flanging. Phasing uses changes in the frequen-
cy spectrum to create peaks and valleys in the audio signal.
Tube Scrm
Classic overdrive distortion with just a touch of MID BOOST. Great in front of almost any amp
model. Try it in front of a clean DLx for starters. Parameter Adjustment: P1 LEVEL, P2 DRIVE.
Stompbox Encoder

One of the most unique features of the VYPYR

amplifer is the
clean/overdrive select encoder. Each of the amp modes contains
TWO CHANNEL MODELS, usually the clean channel and the
overdrive channel. In cases where the original amplifer has THREE
CHANNELS (JSx

), we just picked our FAVORITE TWO. Turn

the encoder to select the amplifer model you desire. To select the
channel model, simply PRESS the AMP ENCODER. If the LED is
GREEN, you are on the LESS DISTORTED (Clean/Green) channel
of the two. If it is RED (Red channel), prepare to shred.
A word about EQ:
When modeling amplifers for the VYPYR we also painstakingly modeled the EQ and how EQ con-
trols functioned on the various amplifers. For instance, the JSx has active EQ on the lead channel,
you will notice when you are on the Red channel model of the JSx that the EQ will act very different-
ly from that of a Green channel Twn. You can expect the EQ for each amp model to behave exactly
like the EQ behaves on the actual amp. Therefore, on some models the EQ will have drastic effect, on
others the EQ will have very little effect. Experiment with each model to dial on the tone you want.
Twn
Green Channel: Very bright clean sound. For many players this tone is the standard for Clean.
Red Channel: This model was taken of a hot-rodded Twn with the reverb tube used as an extra gain stage.
Dlx
Green Channel: Vintage tweed with a Mid knob added. This amplifer breaks quicker than the Twn with less
presence on the high end.
Red Channel: Hot-rodded Dlx with a gain stage inserted after the tone stack.
Plxi
Green Channel: Classic rock tone, enough said.
Red Channel: Hot-rodded Plxi with an extra gain stage and additional tone shaping.
Amp Encoder

is considered by many the ULTIMATE tone machine. As hot as the name implies,
the xxx rips. An amp not for the faint of heart. Ultra and Crunch channels utilize active Bottom, Body, and
Hair (lo, mid, hi) controls.
Green Channel: Triple xxx clean channel, damping set to medium.
Red Channel: Triple xxx Ultra channel, damping set to medium.
JSX

Peavey and Joe Satriani set out to create an amplifer that would give the widest range of EQ options and gain
structures possible.
Green Channel: JSx 212 Combo Crunch channel, presence 6.5, resonance 9.
Red Channel: JSx 212 Combo Ultra channel, presence 6.5, resonance 9.

The 6505 Series amps are the undisputed go-to guitar amps for scores of rock, hardcore and metal
bands due to their raw tone, relentless power and road-proven reliability. The 6505 is still the unques-
tionable choice for an ever-expanding list of endorsers and has become the sound of metal the world
over.
Green Channel: 6505 Plus Crunch channel, presence at 7, resonance at 7.
Red Channel: 6505 Plus Lead Channel, presence at 7, resonance at 7.
Rec
The Rec is a high-gain amp model with smooth (almost liquid) distortion. Although this amp doesnt
have quite the gain of the 6505, it still has unique tone characteristics that some players fnd desirable.
Green Channel: Orange channel, presence on 3.
Red Channel: Red channel, presence on 3.
K-Stein
Similar to the Rec, but with unique characteristics due to the 5881 power tubes in the modeled
amplifer.
Green Channel: Crunch version of high gain channel, presence at 12 oclock, sweep 12 oclock.
Red Channel: High-gain channel, presence at 12 oclock, sweep 12 oclock.
DZL
A unique high-gain amplifer with a distinct bump in the low end around 80 Hz.

Amp Encoder

The THIRD encoder from the left is the EFFECTS SELECTOR. This
encoder selects any desired rack effect. The term Rack Effect is
used to identify effect devices that would typically be found con-
nected to the effects loop on an amplifer. These units are commonly
designed to ft in a 19 wide rack, thus rack effects. These effects
are usually POST INPUT, post EQ and SOUND DISTINCTLY DIF-
FERENT than PREamplifer effects (Stompboxes). To select your
effect, simply turn the encoder so the LED is adjacent to the effect you
desire.
Octaver
Just as the name implies, this effect will produce a tone one octave below the note you are playing.
Parameter Adjustments: P1 Mix (Amount of effect VS dry signal), P2 Octave level
Phaser
Unlike the Analog Phaser model on the Stompbox encoder, this phaser utilizes an eight stage process.
Bottom line, much more of a phasing sound than you will fnd in a Stompbox. Parameter Adjust-
ments: P1 Speed, P2 Depth
Rotary
This effect simulates the sound of a ROTATING SPEAKER. Listen carefully to this effect and you
will notice as the simulated speaker rotates you will hear a pitch shift due to the Doppler effect. Pa-
rameter Adjustments: P1 Speed, P2 Depth.
Reverse
As the name implies, just play something and it will play it back in reverse. This effect is a ton of fun
and will make YOU the life of every party! Parameter Adjustments: P1 Time, P2 Mix
Pitch Shifter
A great way to change the pitch of the note you are playing! With the Sanpera I or II optional foot-
switch, you can assign this effect to the foot controller and sweep from the original note to the note
selected in the parameter adjustment. Parameter Adjustments: P1 Interval, P2 Mix.

Flanger
Unlike the Analog Flanger model on the Stompbox encoder, this fanger uses a longer delayline. Es-
sentially this causes the fanger to emphasize lower frequencies. Parameter Adjustments: P1 Speed,
P2 Depth.
Slap Back
A very quick, short REPETITION of the ORIGINAL NOTE that sounds like the note just slaps back
at ya. Chicken pickin anyone? Parameter Adjustments: P1 Time, P2 Mix.
Env Filter
Short for Envelope Filter this effect is similar to Auto-Wah. The main difference is in the param-
eter adjustment. With the Env Filter we allow you access to the Q (Width of the frequency band
fltered) which allows you to stray far from the sound of an Auto-Wah. Parameter Adjustments: P1
Sensitivity (Threshold), P2 Intensity (Q)
Chorus
SIMILAR to the ANALOG CHORUS on the Stompbox encoder but with a LONGER DELAYLINE.
What does that mean? Well it means this effect will allow you to create a Wetter signal than you
would normally fnd on a Stompbox chorus pedal. In fact at its most intense setting you can clearly
hear a doubling effect on the signal. Parameter Adjustments: P1 Speed, P2 Depth
Tremolo
This effect is achieved through amplitude modulation. Huh? The note gets slightly louder and softer
in rapid succession. Note: this effect is different from Rotary. With Tremolo there is no pitch fuctuation.
Parameter Adjustments: P1 Speed, P2 Depth
Looper
I cannot tell you how fun the looper is, but try as we might we couldnt fgure out how to start and
stop the looper properly WITHOUT a FOOTSWITCH. So this function will require a Sanerpa I or
Sanpera II foot controller. Waste no time in making that purchase! The looper will allow you hours
and hours of fun. Basically you can record any 30-plus seconds of anything, switch your tone (Preset)
and play on top of that. NOTE: the LED that corresponds to the looper on the encoder will turn on
when recording or playing back the loop.

Restore Factory Default Settings
To restore your amplifer to factory default settings (THIS PROCESS WILL ERASE ANY PRESETS
YOU MAY HAVE STORED) turn the amplifer off, press and hold preset buttons 1 and 2 simultaneously

Use this switch to select the appropriate impedance of the speaker enclosure(s) connected to
the Speaker Jacks (4). If two enclosures of equal impedance are used, the switch should be set
at one half of that value (e.g., two 16 ohm enclosures: set switch to 8 ohms; two 8 ohm enclo-

Antes de comenzar a tocar con su amplificador es muy importante asegurarse de que el producto disponga de una aliment-
acin de electricidad CA adecuada. Puede conocer el voltaje correcto de su amplificador en el panel trasero del equipo, al
lado del cable de alimentacin elctrica IEC. Todas las caractersticas y funciones del producto estn numeradas. Consulte
el diagrama del panel delantero de este manual para conocer cada una de las funciones y sus nmeros correspondientes.
VENTILACIN: Para una ventilacin adecuada, deje una distancia de 24 pulgadas (60 cm) entre el equipo y toda
superficie combustible.

Gire esta perilla para seleccionar el efecto de pre- amplifcador deseado, si es el caso. Piense en que
son 11 pedales que NUNCA tendr que comprar! Presione el codifcador por un instante para ingresar
al modo de Modifcacin (Edit - 15).
2 - Codifcador de Amplifcador (Amp Encoder)
Gire esta perilla para seleccionar el modelo de su amplifcador. Si la lmpara est ENCENDIDA DE
COLOR ROJO se encuentra en el CANAL DE ALTA GANANCIA. Si la LMPARA EST ENCEN-
DIDA DE COLOR VERDE se encuentra en el MODO DE OPERACIN DE BAJA GANANCIA.
PRESIONE DURANTE 2 SEGUNDOS para ingresar al modo de afnamiento. Las lmparas LED
prximas al codifcador de Amplifcador (Amp Encoder) identifcarn la nota que est utilizando para
afnar (o la nota ms cercana). Simultneamente, las lmparas LED prximas al codifcador de Efectos
(Effects encoder - 3) indicarn si la nota es sostenida o bemol. Si el LED de color verde se encuentra
a la DERECHA de la posicin de las 12 en punto est tocando hacia BEMOL (afne hacia abajo). Si el
LED de color verde se encuentra a la IZQUIERDA de la posicin de las 12 en punto est tocando hacia
SOSTENIDO (afne hacia arriba). Cuando TODOS los LED que RODEAN AL CODIFICADOR DE
EFECTOS estn encendidos, YA ESTAR AFINADO!
3 - Codifcador de efectos (Effects Encoder)
Gire esta perilla para seleccionar el efecto de estante (rack) deseado. Los anteriores son efectos que en
los equipos convencionales estn conectados al lazo de efectos del amplifcador. Presione el codifcador
por un instante para ingresar al modo de Modifcacin (Edit - 15).
4 - Ganancia del Pre (Pre Gain)
Gire esta perilla para incrementar la ganancia y seleccionar la cantidad de distorsin que quiere lograr
en el amplifcador. En el modo de Modifcacin (Edit), esta perilla controla el primer parmetro, ya sea
del Stompbox o del efecto seleccionado (15).

5 - Codifcador de los bajos (Low Encoder)
Ajuste de la ecualizacin de los bajos. En el modo de Modifcacin (Edit), esta perilla controla el
segundo parmetro, ya sea del Stompbox o del efecto seleccionado (15).
6 - Codifcador de los medios (Mid Encoder)
Ajuste de la ecualizacin de los medios. En el modo de Modifcacin (Edit), esta perilla controla la
retroalimentacin del efecto de retardo. El trmino retroalimentacin se refere a la cantidad de veces
que se repite el retardo.
7 - Codifcador de los altos (High Encoder)
Ajuste de la ecualizacin de los altos. En el modo de Modifcacin (Edit), esta perilla controla el nivel
o la magnitud del efecto de retardo. Es de cero con la perilla totalmente hacia la izquierda y de mxi-
mo totalmente hacia la derecha.
8 - Ganancia post (Post Gain)
Este es el volumen predeterminado en forma individual. En el modo de Modifcacin (Edit), esta
perilla controla la magnitud de la reverberacin.
9 - Entrada auxiliar (Aux Input)
Aqu puede conectar su reproductor de mp3, su batera electrnica o su reproductor de CD favoritos y
tocar acompaado.
10 - Volumen maestro (Master Volume)

11 - Esponja de potencia (Power Sponge)

Disponible slo en los modelos VYPYR 75 y 100

Esta perilla le permite atenuar la seccin de salida del amplifcador. No confunda esta funcin con la
del Volumen maestro. La Esponja de potencia ajusta la magnitud de la potencia que el amplifcador es
capaz de producir. Este circuito patentado le permite lograr el sonido del mximo volumen a niveles de
volumen de dormitorio.
12 - Encendido/apagado (Power)
Encindalo! Dado que los equipos VYPYR cuentan con capacidades de procesamiento muy avan-
zadas requieren de unos momentos para arrancar. Ocurre rpidamente y puede que ni lo note. En los
amplifcadores VYPYR de tubos encontrar adicionalmente un interruptor de En espera (Standby).
Este interruptor permite un lapso de tiempo para que se calienten los tubos. Los tubos deben estar
calientes para que produzcan la potencia y la tonalidad deseadas. Le sugerimos que deje que los tubos
se calienten durante al menos tres minutos antes de encender el interruptor de En espera.
13 - Seleccin de Bancos (Bank) y de Pre-selecciones (Preset)
Su VYPYR viene de fbrica dotado de 12 pre-selecciones. Dichas pre-selecciones estn reunidas
en grupos de 4 y se pueden guardar en los bancos A, B y C. Para seleccionar un banco tan slo tiene
que presionar el botn correspondiente, a la izquierda. La lmpara LED indicar cul de los bancos
est activo. Para escoger la pre-seleccin que quiere escuchar presione uno de los cuatro botones a
la DERECHA del botn de seleccin de bancos (BANK). Si quiere borrar alguna pre-seleccin de
fbrica y reemplazarla por una propia, NO HAY PROBLEMA. Una vez que haya confgurado el am-
plifcador y le guste como suena, proceda a MANTENER PRESIONADO UNO DE LOS BOTONES
DE PRE-SELECCIN, tal como se hace en los autos. La pre-seleccin quedar guardada.
14 - Toquecitos del tempo (Tap Tempo)
D golpecitos con el dedo sobre este botn para ajustar el tempo del efecto de retardo (Delay). SI NO
ESCUCHA EL RETARDO, ingrese al modo de MODIFICACIN (EDIT - 15) y SUBA EL NIVEL.
PRECAUCIN: El interruptor de encendido/apagado de estos equipos no
corta la alimentacin de electricidad en ambos lados. Podra haber niveles
peligrosos de electricidad en el interior del equipo aun estando el inter-
ruptor de encendido/apagado en la posicin de apagado (OFF).

15 - Modo de Modifcacin (Edit)
Bien, aqu es donde no se complica la cosa. El modo de Modifcacin tan slo cambia los codifcadores
4 al 8 a sus funciones alternas, identifcadas debajo del codifcador. Cuando el equipo se encuentra en
el modo de Modifcacin, el LED del modo de Modifcacin se encender, ya sea de color VERDE si se
est modifcando los parmetros de los EFECTOS (EFFECTS) o de color ROJO si se est modifcando
los parmetros de los codifcadores STOMPBOx. Para ingresar al modo de Modifcacin, presione el
codifcador Stompbox (1) o el codifcador de Efectos (Effects - 3) Para salir del modo de Modifcacin
presione de nuevo el mismo codifcador.
Debe ingresar al modo de Modifcacin cada vez que quiera tener acceso a las
funciones de Retardo (Delay) o Reverberacin (Reverb)!
16 - Salida de auriculares/grabacin (Headphone/Record Out)
En verdad hemos invertido una gran cantidad de tiempo asegurndonos de que la toma de auriculares
sea de calidad de estudio; gracias a eso dicha toma se puede utilizar para grabar, con el uso de los
adaptadores correspondientes (se suministran por separado). NOTA: EL ALTAVOZ SE SILENCIA
AUTOMTICAMENTE CUANDO SE UTILIZA LOS AURICULARES! El Volumen maestro
(Master Volume - 10) controla el nivel de los auriculares.
17 - Salida de grabacin USB (USB Record Out) No est disponible en los modelos VYPYR 15 o 30
La salida de grabacin USB de los equipos VYPYR no requiere de controladores de software. Tan
slo conecte un cable USB a su computadora y sta reconocer a su VYPYR como un dispositivo de
audio. Abra su programa de grabacin favorito y comience a grabar. No se preocupe, la salida simula
un micrfono o un arreglo de altavoces y sonar excelentemente al entrar a su computadora. NOTA:
Al utilizar la salida USB el altavoz se silencia automticamente; la salida de auriculares permanece
activa para hacer el monitoreo de la grabacin en tiempo real.

A qu viene ese frentico show de luces?
Es para que nuestros amplifcadores no se aburran cuando no estn haciendo nada. No se preocupe,
al conectar su guitarra al amplifcador el show de luces se detendr automticamente y permanecer
apagado durante el resto de su sesin. Si el cable de su guitarra est conectado al amplifcador, al en-
cenderlo el show de luces no se activar. Si quiere desactivar permanentemente el show de luces, tan
slo tiene que mantener presionados simultneamente los botones 3 y 4 al encender el amplifcador.
Todas las veces que encienda el amplifcador posteriormente el show de luces estar desactivado.
Seleccin de los codifcadores
La parte derecha de la toma de entrada de los amplifcadores VYPYR

est dividida en TRES

SECCIONES: STOMPBOx, AMPLIFICADOR (AMPLIFIER)y EFECTOS (EFFECTS). Al activar
alguno de los codifcadores observar que la lmpara LED correspondiente se enciende para sealar la
funcin seleccionada.
Por qu no pusieron la perilla del amplifcador a la izquierda como en los otros amplifcadores?
Las TRES secciones estn colocadas de izquierda a derecha en el ORDEN que sigue la secuencia de
la ruta de la seal. Las STOMPBOx por lo general se encuentran ANTES del amplifcador en la ruta
de la seal, por lo que decidimos que era mejor ponerlas DE PRIMERAS en estos amplifcadores.
Seleccin de voceados alternos:
El amplifcador Vypyr est dotado de 4 voceados distintos de altavoces, que puede seleccionar a su
gusto personal. El seleccionar un voceado es muy sencillo. Tan slo tiene que mantener presionado
uno de los botones de preseleccin al encender el amplifcador, y podr elegir entre las siguientes
opciones:
1. El voceado predeterminado.
2. Un voceado ms opaco, en todos los modelos.
3. Un voceado ms brillante, en todos los modelos.
4. Un voceado ms brillante en los modelos de 120, 60 y 100 W; uno ms opaco en los modelos
Head, de 75 y 30 W.

El primer codifcador a la derecha de la toma de entrada es el selector de
codifcadores Stompbox. Este control selecciona la Stompbox (unidades
de efectos tradicionales de pedal), lo que equivale exactamente a conectar
su guitarra a su unidad de pedal favorita y luego al amplifcador. Mediante
el codifcador Stompbox usted puede seleccionar entre varios pedales de
distorsin y de reforzamiento de caractersticas nicas, que al combinarlos
con confguraciones limpias (y tambin de lder) del amplifcador se
pueden obtener tonalidades muy pero que muy sorprendentes. Tan slo
active el codifcador Stompbox para seleccionar el efecto que desee. Si
desea ajustar los parmetros, tan slo PRESIONE el CODIFICADOR
CORRESPONDIENTE a fn de ingresar al MODO DE MODIFICACIN
(EDIT) (Vea Modo de Modifcacin (Edit) en la gua de arranque rpido)

XR Wild
Pedal de overdrive super intensa excelente para crear tonos crunch antes de un ajuste limpio del
amplifcador. O tambin utilcelo antes de un ajuste sucio del amplifcador, para un tono de aullido
lder con sustain. Ajuste de parmetros (modo de Modifcacin-Edit) Nivel P1, Mando P2.
X Boost
Este ajuste es una especie de REFORZADOR, no es realmente un pedal de distorsin ni un
reforzamiento limpio. El efecto colorea su tonalidad con una overdrive de crunch, que refuerza
algunas frecuencias y le da calidez a la tonalidad. Ajuste de parmetros: Nivel P1, Mando P2.
Fuzz
Tonalidad clsica de fuzz de los aos 60 y 70. Prubela con un ajuste limpio del codifcador de
amplifcador (Amp encoder) Ajuste de parmetros: Nivel P1, Mando P2.
Coro BC
Este inconfundible modelo de coro analgico clido ser sin duda uno de los ms utilizados en su
arsenal de pre-selecciones. Ajuste de parmetros: Velocidad P1, Profundidad P2.
Apriete (Squeeze)
Este COMPRESOR permite ajustar el NIVEL DE SALIDA y la SENSIBILIDAD a los cuales
se activa (modo de Modifcacin - Edit). Los compresores pueden generar sonidos percusivos de
muy corta duracin al tocar la guitarra en modos limpios o sustains clidos al tocar como lder.
Pruebe este efecto de Stompbox en un canal limpio y toque las cuerdas suavemente al principio y
luego ms fuertemente para ESCUCHAR y SENTIR el efecto. Ajuste de parmetros: Nivel P1,
Sensibilidad P2.

Modulador de anillo (Ring Modulator)
El modulador de anillo combina dos ondas y toca la suma y la diferencia de las frecuencias
presentes en cada una de ellas. Como podr escuchar, este efecto es sin duda un poquito extrava-
gante pero puede ser muy divertido. Ajuste de parmetros: Frecuencia portadora P1, Mezcla P2.
Wah Automtico (Auto Wah)
El Wah automtico utiliza barridas de fltros de frecuencia en el rango normalmente asociado
con las voces para dar a la guitarra un sonido de wah. Ajuste de parmetros: Velocidad P1,
Profundidad del barrido P2.
Flange analgico (Analog Flange)
El fange es un efecto sonoro con base temporal que se produce cuando dos seales idnticas se
mezclan aplicando un pequeo retraso a una de ellas. Dicho retraso produce un efecto de fltro
peine de barrida.
MOG
Un efecto creado por nosotros mismos. Las siglas MOG corresponden a Monophonic Octave
Generator es decir, generador de octavas monofnico. Bsicamente generamos una seal UNA
OCTAVA POR ENCIMA de la seal que se toca y otra POR DEBAJO. Este efecto puede producir
un sonido un poco aullador cuando se utiliza con acordes de modo que pruebe utilizarlo primero
con notas individuales. Ajuste de parmetros: Octava SUBIR nivel P1, Octava BAJA nivel P2
Fase analgica (Analog Phase)
El efecto de fase analgica se confunde con frecuencia con el efecto de fange. El efecto de fase
utiliza los cambios en el espectro de frecuencias para crear picos y valles en la seal de audio.
Scrm de tubos (Tube Scrm)
Distorsin clsica de overdrive con apenas un toque de REFUERZO DE LOS MEDIOS. Excelente
para su uso antes de casi todos las emulaciones de amplifcadores. Para empezar, puede utilizarlo
antes de un DLx limpio. Ajuste de parmetros: NIVEL P1, MANDO P2.

Una de las funciones ms particulares y nicas de los amplifcadores
VYPYR

es la capacidad de seleccionar codifcadores limpios y

tambin con overdrive. Todos los modos del amplifcador incluyen
EMULACIONES DE DOS CANALES, por lo general el canal lim-
pio y el canal con overdrive. En los casos en los que el amplifcador
original tiene TRES CANALES (JSx

) seleccionamos los DOS QUE

MS NOS GUSTAN. Haga girar el codifcador para seleccionar el
modelo de amplifcador que desee. Para seleccionar el canal emulado,
tan slo PRESIONE el CODIFICADOR DE AMPLIFICADOR
(AMP ENCODER). Si la lmpara LED se enciende de color VERDE,
la unidad se encuentra en el canal MENOS DISTORSIONADO (Limpio/Verde) de los dos. Si se
enciende de color ROJO (canal rojo), preprese para desgarrar.
Dos palabras acerca de la ecualizacin:
Al hacer la emulacin de amplifcadores para los VYPYR tambin emulamos con gran cuidado su
ecualizacin y la manera como los controles de ecualizacin funcionan en los diversos amplifcadores.
Por ejemplo, los JSx cuentan con ecualizacin activa en el canal lder; se podr dar cuenta cuando se
encuentre en el modelo del canal rojo del JSx que la actualizacin funcionar de un modo muy diferente
de la manera como funciona la ecualizacin del canal verde. Usted puede esperar que la ecualizacin
de ambos modelos de amplifcador se comporte exactamente como se comporta la ecualizacin en el
amplifcador verdadero. Por lo tanto, en algunos modelos la ecualizacin tendr un efecto drstico y en
otros tendr un efecto muy sutil. Experimente con ambos modelos para encontrar la tonalidad que desee.
Twn
Canal verde: Sonido muy brillante y limpio. Para muchos guitarristas esta tonalidad es la referencia de la
limpieza.
Canal rojo: Este modelo fue adoptado de un Twn envenenado, utilizando el tubo de reverberacin como una
etapa adicional de ganancia.
Dlx
Canal verde: Tipo tweed clsico con una perilla de medios aadida. Este tipo de amplifcador rompe con
mayor rapidez que los Twn y tiene menor presencia en los altos extremos.
Canal rojo: Dlx envenenado con la insercin de una etapa de ganancia despus del estante de tonalidades.
Plxi
Canal verde: Tonalidad clsica del rock. Con eso est dicho todo.
Canal rojo: Plxi envenenado con una etapa de ganancia adicional y ajustes adicionales de la tonalidad.

El Triple xxx

de Peavey es considerado por muchos como la MxIMA mquina de tonalidad. Como su

nombre lo indica, el amplifcador xxx hace estragos. No es un amplifcador para los sumisos. Los canales
Ultra y Crunch cuentan con controles de Base (Bottom), Cuerpo (Body) y Cabello (Hair) (bajos, medios,
altos).
Canal verde: Canal limpio Triple xxx, con la amortiguacin en la posicin media.
Canal rojo: Canal Ultra Triple xxx, con la amortiguacin en la posicin media.
JSX

Peavey y Joe Satriani se lanzaron a crear un amplifcador que ofreciera la ms amplia gama de opciones de
ecualizacin y de estructuras de ganancia posibles.
Canal verde: Canal Combo Crunch de JSx 212, presencia en 6.5, resonancia en 9.
Canal rojo: Canal Combo Ultra de JSx 212, presencia en 6.5, resonancia en 9.

Los amplifcadores de la serie 6505 son los indiscutibles amplifcadores porttiles de guitarra para
legiones de bandas de rock, de hardcore y metaleras debido a su tonalidad cruda, su potencia
implacable y su confabilidad probada en la carretera. El 6505 es la opcin indiscutible para una lista
cada vez mayor de msicos que los recomiendan, y se ha convertido en el sonido del rock metlico en
todo el mundo.
Canal verde: Canal 6505 Plus Crunch, presencia en 7, resonancia en 7.

El Rec es un amplifcador de alta ganancia de distorsin tersa (casi lquida). Aunque este
amplifcador no alcanza los niveles de ganancia del 6505, aun as tiene caractersticas tonales nicas
que algunos guitarristas consideran deseables.
Canal verde: Canal Anaranjado, presencia en 3.
Canal rojo: Canal Rojo, presencia en 3.
K-Stein
Similar al Rec, pero con caractersticas nicas debido a los tubos 5881 de potencia en el amplifcador
emulado.
Canal verde: Versin crunch de un canal de alta ganancia, presencia en la posicin de las 12 en
punto, barrido en la posicin de las 12 en punto.
Canal rojo: Canal de alta ganancia, presencia en la posicin de las 12 en punto, barrido en la posicin
de las 12 en punto.
DZL
Un amplifcador nico de alta ganancia con una clara joroba en el extremo inferior, alrededor de los 80 Hz.
Canal verde: Canal 2, presencia en la posicin de las 12 en punto, profundidad en la posicin de las
12 en punto.
Canal rojo: Canal 4, presencia en la posicin de las 12 en punto, profundidad en la posicin de las
12 en punto.

El TERCER codifcador de izquierda a derecha es el selector de
EFECTOS (EFFECTS) . Este codifcador selecciona el efecto de
estante (rack) deseado. El trmino efecto de rack se utiliza para
identifcar los dispositivos de efectos que por lo general se conectan en
el lazo de efectos de los amplifcadores. Dichas unidades generalmente
estn diseadas para instalarse en estantes (rack) de 19 pulgadas, y por
eso se les llama efectos de estante. Por lo general, estos efectos son
POSTERIORES A LA ENTRADA Yposteriores a la ecualizacin y
TIENEN UN SONIDO CLARAMENTE DISTINTO a los efectos de
PRE-amplifcador (Stompbox). Para seleccionar un efecto, tan slo gire
el codifcador hasta que se encienda el LED prximo al efecto deseado.
Octaver
Tal como su nombre lo indica, este efecto producir tonos una octava por debajo de las notas que toque.
Ajuste de parmetros: Mezcla P1 (Magnitud del efecto en comparacin con la seal seca), Nivel de la
octava P2
Phaser
A diferencia del emulador de Phaser analgico (Analog Phaser) del codifcador Stompbox, este
phaser utiliza un proceso de ocho etapas. El resultado fnal es un sonido ms de phaser que el que

Este efecto simula el sonido de un ALTAVOZ ROTATIVO. Escuche cuidadosamente este efecto y

Inverso (Reverse)
Como su nombre lo indica, toque algo y se reproducir invertido. Este efecto es muy divertido y LO
CONVERTIR en el alma de todas las festas! Ajuste de parmetros: Tiempo P1, Mezcla P2
Cambiador de timbre (Pitch Shifter)
Una excelente manera de cambiar el timbre de la nota que est tocando! Con los pedales Sanpera I o II
opcionales, se puede asignar este efecto al controlador de pedales y hacer barridos desde la nota original
hasta la nota seleccionada en el ajuste de los parmetros. Ajuste de parmetros: Intervalo P1, Mezcla P2

Flanger
A diferencia de la emulacin de fanger analgico en el codifcador Stompbox, este fanger utiliza un
circuito de retardo ms prolongado. En pocas palabras, esto hace que el fanger haga nfasis en las
frecuencias ms bajas. Ajuste de parmetros: Velocidad P1, Profundidad P2.
Rebote (Slap Back)
Una REPETICIN rpida y breve de la NOTA ORIGINAL que suena exactamente como si la nota
le rebotara de regreso. Quiere alguien tocar al estilo Chicken picking? Ajuste de parmetros:
Tiempo P1, Mezcla P2.
Filtro envolvente (Env Filter)
Este efecto es similar al del Wah automtico (Auto-Wah). La diferencia principal entre ellos es el
ajuste de los parmetros. Con el fltro envolvente le damos acceso al parmetro Q (ancho de la
banda de frecuencias fltradas) lo que le permite desviarse lejos del sonido de un Wah automtico.

Coro (Chorus)
SIMILAR al CORO ANALGICO (ANALOG CHORUS) presente en el codifcador Stompbox pero
con un CIRCUITO DE RETARDO MS PROLONGADO. Qu signifca eso? Bien, signifca que
este efecto le permite crear una seal ms hmeda que la que normalmente encontrara en un pedal
Stompbox de coro. De hecho, al ajustarse en sus posiciones extremas se puede escuchar claramente
un efecto de doblez de la seal. Ajuste de parmetros: Velocidad P1, Profundidad P2.
Trmolo (Tremolo)
Este efecto se logra mediante la modulacin de la amplitud. Cmo dijo? El volumen de la nota
se aumenta y se reduce en rpida sucesin. Nota: este efecto es distinto al Rotativo. Con el efecto de
Trmolo no hay cambios en el timbre.
Ajuste de parmetros: Velocidad P1, Profundidad P2.
Lazo (Looper)
No se puede expresar con palabras lo divertido que es el efecto de Lazo o Looper, pero a pesar de
nuestros intentos no pudimos encontrar una manera de activarlo y desactivarlo correctamente SIN
EL USO DE un PEDAL. De modo que esta funcin necesita de un controlador de pedal Sanpera I
o Sanpera II. No pierda tiempo en salir a comprarlo! El Looper le dar horas y horas de diversin.
Bsicamente lo que hace es que le permite grabar 30 segundos o ms de lo que quiera, cambiar la
tonalidad (pre-seleccin) y tocar encima de eso. NOTA: el LED correspondiente al Looper en el
codifcador se encender al grabar o reproducir el lazo.

Restauracin de la confguracin original de fbrica
Para restaurar el amplifcador a su confguracin original de fbrica (ESTE PROCESO BORRAR
TODAS LAS PRE-SELECCIONES QUE PUDIERA TENER ALMACENADAS) proceda a apagar el
amplifcador, mantenga presionado los botones de preseleccin 1 y 2 simultneamente y encienda de
nuevo el amplifcador. Luego de unos instantes los LED se encendern de nuevo para indicar que el
amplifcador fue reiniciado.

1. Alimentacin de electricidad IEC
Cable de electricidad CA para el mercado estadounidense
El cable de electricidad suministrado con la unidad es de servicio pesado y de tres conductores, e
incorpora un enchufe convencional de 120 VCA con pasador de tierra. Si el tomacorriente utilizado
no cuenta con una conexin a tierra, se debe utilizar un adaptador adecuado y conectar el tercer
cable a tierra en forma correcta. Todos los equipos de construccin de Clase 1 se deben conectar a un
tomacorriente que cuente con una conexin de proteccin a tierra.
Nunca rompa el pasador de tierra del enchufe de ningn equipo. Ese pasador se suministra para su
seguridad. Se debe evitar el uso de cables de extensin pero de ser necesario, utilice extensiones de
tres cables con cables de calibre #14 AWG o ms gruesos. La instalacin de todo equipo elctrico

Avant de jouer, il est trs important de vrifier que lampli est aliment avec la tension de secteur c.a. La tension
approprie est indique ct de la ligne IEC (alimentation) sur le panneau arrire de lampli. Chaque option est
numrote. Reportez-vous au schma du panneau avant dans ce manuel pour localiser les options particulires.
CIRCULATION DAIR : pour que la circulation dair soit suffisante, aucune surface combustible ne doit se
trouver dans un rayon de 60 cm.

Tournez ce bouton pour slectionner leffet de pr-ampli choisi. Imaginez un peu, 11 pdales votre
disposition ! Appuyez sur ce bouton pour passer en mode Edit (15).

2 - Bouton Amp (entre dampli)
Tournez ce bouton pour slectionner le modle de votre entre dampli. Si le TMOIN EST ROUGE,
vous tes sur le CANAL HIGH GAIN (canal satur). Si le tmoin EST VERT, vous tes sur le
RGLAGE LOW GAIN (CANAL CLAIR). MAINTENEZ LA TOUCHE ENFONCE 2 SECONDES
pour passer en mode Tuner. Les LED autour du bouton Amp indiquent la note que vous accordez (ou la
note la plus proche). Au mme moment les LED du bouton Effects (3) indiquent si la note est en dise
ou en bmol. Si la LED verte est du ct DROIT, vous tes en DISE. Si la LED verte est du ct
GAUCHE, vous tes en BMOL. Quand TOUTES les LED autour du bouton EFFECTS sallument,
vous tes ACCORD !
3 - Bouton Effects
Tournez ce bouton pour slectionner les effets Rack. Ces effets sont ceux qui peuvent tre relis aux
effets Loop (boucle) dun ampli. Appuyez sur ce bouton pour passer en mode Edit (15).
4 - Pre Gain
Tournez ce bouton pour lancer le Gain et programmer la distorsion choisie pour lampli. En mode Edit,
ce bouton commande le paramtre 1 du bouton Stombox ou Effects (15).

11 - Power Sponge

Sur le VYPYR 75 et 100 uniquement

Ce bouton permet dattnuer la puissance de lampli. Attention, il ne sagit pas du bouton de volume.
Power Sponge ajuste la puissance que lampli est capable de produire. Ce circuit sous licence vous of-
fre un son cranked qui se rpercute dans toute la pice.
12 - Power
Allumez-le ! Le processus des VYPYR est trs pointu. Le dmarrage ne prend que quelques instants.
Tout ceci est trs rapide, vous ne vous en rendrez mme pas compte. Sur les amplis lampes, vous
trouverez en plus une commande Standby (veille). Celle-ci permet de chauffer les lampes, qui doivent
tre chaudes pour produire la puissance et le son dsirs. Nous vous suggrons dattendre au moins
trois minutes avant dallumer la commande Standby.
13 - Bank et Presets
Votre VYPYR propose 12 presets standard. Ces presets sont par groupe de 4 et peuvent tre enreg-
istres sur les banques A, B et C. Pour slectionner une banque, appuyez simplement sur le bouton
compltement gauche. La LED indique la banque actuellement slectionne. Slectionnez la preset
choisie en appuyant sur un des quatre boutons DROITE des commandes BANK. Si vous souhaitez
supprimer la preset standard et slectionner la votre, AUCUN PROBLME. Une fois lampli con-
fgur, si le son vous convient, il vous sufft DE MAINTENIR ENFONCS UN DES BOUTONS DE
PRESET comme sur un autoradio, et le rglage est sauvegard !
14 - Tap Tempo
Appuyez sur ce bouton pour rgler le tempo de leffet delay. Si vous nentendez AUCUN EFFET
DELAY, passez en mode EDIT (15) pour augmenter LE NIVEAU.
AVERTISSEMENT : la commande on/off de cet appareil ne coupe
pas compltement lalimentation au secteur. Le courant peut passer
dans le botier quand la commande on/off est en position OFF.

15 - Mode Edit
De moins en moins compliqu ! Avec le mode Edit, les commandes 4-8 passent aux fonctions
indiques sous le bouton. La LED du mode Edit est soit VERTE, si vous tes en train de modifer les
fonctions du bouton EFFECTS ou ROUGE si vous modifez les fonctions du bouton STOMPBOxES.
Pour passer en mode Edit, appuyez simplement sur le bouton Stompbox (1) ou Effects (3). Pour quitter
le mode Edit, appuyez de nouveau sur le mme bouton.
Chaque fois que vous voulez leffet Delay ou Reverb, il vous faut passer en mode

16 - Headphone/Record Out
Nous avons fait tout ce quil faut pour que le jack du casque vous offre la qualit studio. En utilisant
les adaptateurs appropris (non fournis), vous pourrez donc utiliser cette prise pour enregistrer. RE-
MARQUE : LE HAUT-PARLEUR EST EN SOURDINE QUAND LE CASQUE EST UTILIS ! Le
volume du casque se rgle avec le bouton Master Volume (10).
17 - USB Record Out Non disponible sur le VYPYR 15 ou 30
Lenregistrement VYPYR USB ne ncessite aucun excitateur. Il sufft de brancher un cble USB
standard dans votre ordinateur et il dtecte votre VYPYR comme un dispositif audio. Ouvrez votre
programme denregistrement prfr et commencez lenregistrement. Pas dinquitude, la sortie a
fonction de micro et le son sera parfait avec votre ordinateur. REMARQUE : le haut-parleur est
volontairement mis en sourdine quand la sortie USB est utilise mme si la sortie est active sur la
dure de lenregistrement.

Que de lumires !
Cest pour occuper nos amplis quand ils ne font rien ! Pas dinquitude, ds que vous branchez votre
guitare dans lampli, tout steint automatiquement et reste teint pour le reste de la session. Si votre
cble est branch dans lampli quand vous vous connectez, le jeu de lumire reste teint. Si vous
souhaitez dsactiver le jeu de lumire, appuyez de manire prolonge sur les deux boutons preset 3 et
4 en allumant lampli. Le jeu de lumire sera dsactiv quand vous rallumerez lampli.
Boutons de slection

, il y a TROIS COMMANDES : les commandes STOMPBOx,

AMP et EFFECTS. En tournant un de ces boutons, la LED correspondant llment slectionn
sallume.
Pourquoi le bouton Amp nest-il pas plac gauche comme sur les autres amplis? Les TROIS
commandes vont de gauche droite selon la SUITE LOGIQUE. STOMPBOxES est gnralement la
premire commande du processus AVANT la commande Amp, nous avons donc pens que cet ordre
tait plus APPROPRI.
Slection de modles de HP alternatifs :
Le Vypyr offre quatre modlisations de HP diffrentes, parmi lesquelles vous pouvez choisir en fonc-
tion de vos prfrences. La slection est on ne peut plus simple. Il sufft dappuyer de manire
prolonge sur lune des touches de preset lors de la mise sous tension pour choisir lune des options
suivantes :
1. Modlisation par dfaut.
2. Modlisation plus sombre sur tous les modles.
3. Modlisation plus brillante sur tous les modles.
4. Modlisation plus brillante sur les modles 120, 60 et 100 watts, plus sombre sur la tte
et les modles 75 et 30 watts.

Cette commande slectionne leffet Stompbox (effet traditionnel de

Stompbox, vous pouvez slectionner plusieurs distorsions et pdales,
combiner-les avec les rglages Clean (ou Lead) et vous aurez au fnal
un son plutt exceptionnel. Il sufft de tourner le bouton Stompbox
pour slectionner leffet choisi. Si vous voulez ajuster les paramtres,
APPUYEZ sur le BOUTON pour passer en MODE EDIT (voir la ru-
brique Mode Edit dans le guide de dmarrage rapide).

Pdale overdrive Super hot pour crer un son crunchy plac avant un rglage Clean. Ou utiliser
plac avant un canal dirty pour un son et un sustain plus agressifs. Rglages de paramtre (mode

X Boost
Ce rglage est un type de BOOSTER, pas vraiment une pdale de distorsion ou un effet clean boost.
Leffet apporte de la couleur votre son grce une simulation doverdrive crunchy qui booste cer-
taines frquences et rchauffe la tonalit. Rglages de paramtre : niveau P1, drive P2.
Fuzz
Le son Classic fuzz des annes 60 et 70. Essayez-le avec un rglage Clean sur le bouton Amp. R-
glages de paramtre : niveau P1, drive P2.
BC Chorus
Ce modle de modulation analogique sera sans aucun doute leffet essentiel de lensemble de vos
presets. Rglages de paramtre : vitesseP1, profondeur P2.
Squeeze
Ce COMPRESSEUR vous permet de rgler le NIVEAU DE SORTIE et la SENSIBILIT (mode
Edit). Les compresseurs peuvent produire des sons percutants sur une guitare en Clean ou sur un
effet sustain fondant en jouant en Lead. Essayez cet effet stompbox sur un canal Clean, puis
commencez par jouez doucement, puis avec plus dnergie pour ENTENDRE et RESSENTIR
leffet. Rglages de paramtre : niveau P1, sensibilit P2.

Ring Modulator
Le Ring Modulator combine deux composantes dun son et joue la somme et la diffrence des
frquences prsentes sur chaque composante. loreille, cet effet peut dpasser les limites mais
procurer pas mal de fun. Rglages de paramtre : Frquence support P1, mix. P2.
Auto Wah
Leffet Auto Wah utilise les balayages du fltre de frquence dans la gamme gnralement associes
aux vocaux pour donner la guitare un son wah-wah. Rglages de paramtre : vitesseP1, profond-
eur vitesse P2.
Analog Flange
Leffet de fange est un effet modulateur tempo constant qui se produit quand deux signaux iden-
tiques sont mixs avec un signal lgrement retard. Il se produit un effet de fltre en peigne.
MOG
Un effet que nous avons cr. MOG en anglais, Monophonic Octave Generator signife Gnra-
teur doctave monophonique. Il sagit de crer un son UN OCTAVE AU-DESSUS du signal en
cours et un autre OCTAVE EN DESSOUS. Cet effet peut tre un peu dform quand il est utilis
avec des cordes, essayez-le dabord sur des notes uniques. Rglages de paramtre : octave AU-
DESSUS P1, octave EN DESSOUS P2
Analog Phase
La phase analogique ressemble leffet de fange. Leffet de phase utilise les changements dans le
spectre de frquence pour crer des crtes et des creux dans le signal audio.
Tube Scrm
Distorsion overdrive classique avec juste une touche de BOOST MOYEN. Exceptionnel plac
avant la plupart des modles dampli. Pour les dbutants, essayez-le plac avant de leffet CLean
DLx. Rglages de paramtre : NIVEAU P1, DRIVE P2.

Une des options les plus originales de lampli VYPYR

est le bouton
de slection deffet Clean/Overdrive. Chacun des modes dentre
dampli contient DEUx MODLES DE CANAL, en gnral le canal
Clean et le canal Overdrive. Si lampli dorigine a TROIS CANAUx
(JSx

), nous en prenons DEUx. Tournez le bouton pour slectionner

le modle dampli que vous dsirez. Pour slectionner le modle de
canal, APPUYEZ sur le bouton AMP. Si la LED est VERTE, vous
tes sur le canal ayant le MOINS DE DISTORSION (Clean/Verte).
Si elle est ROUGE (canal rouge), prparez-vous au shred.
Un mot propos de lEQ :
Quand nous modlisons des amplis pour VYPYR, nous modlisons aussi avec prcision lEQ et la
manire dont les commandes de lEQ fonctionnent sur les divers amplis. Par exemple, le JSx a un
EQ actif sur le canal Lead. Vous remarquerez que quand vous tes sur le modle de canal rouge du
JSx, lEQ ne ragit pas de la mme faon que quand il est sur un canal Vert Twn. Vous pouvez vous
attendre ce que lEQ de chaque modle dampli ragissent exactement comme lEQ sur lampli ac-
tuel. Cependant, sur certains modles, il aura un effet radical alors que sur dautres, leffet sera min-
ime. Faites lessai avec chaque modle pour accorder comme vous le souhaitez.
Twn
Canal vert : son trs clair. Pour beaucoup de joueurs, il sagit du rglage standard de leffet Clean.
Canal rouge : ce modle a t pris dun hot-rodded Twn avec le tube reverb utilis comme un gain en plus.
Dlx
Canal vert : Vintage tweed avec bouton medium ajout. Ce rglage ragit plus vite que le Twn avec moins de
prsence au fnal.
Canal rouge : Dlx tendance Hot-rod avec gain aprs superposition de son.
Plxi
Canal vert : un son rock classique, rien ajouter.
Canal rouge : Plxi tendance Hot-Rod avec un gain extra et une modulation supplmentaire.

unique. Canal rouge : plus chaud que le canal vert. Une distorsion guitare rock parfaite.

Le Peavey Classic 50

est un des plus populaires. Sa structure gain rceptive et les entres ampli de guitare de
srie Classic

Les entres 6505 sont des entres directes de guitare indispensables pour les groupes rock, hard-rock

devenu le son metal le plus courant.

Le TROISIME bouton partir de la gauche est le slecteur
EFFECTS . Ce bouton slectionne leffet rack dsir. Cet effet est
utilis pour identifer les appareils deffet qui se trouvent en gnral
connects la boucle des effets sur un ampli. Ces appareils sadaptent
un rack de 19 de large, do leffet rack. Ces effets interviennent
normalement APRS LENTRE, aprs lEQ et LE SON EST COM-
PLTEMENT DIFFRENT DES EFFETS dePRampli (Stompboxes).
Pour slectionner votre effet, tournez le bouton pour que la LED soit
ct de leffet dsir.
Octaver
Comme son nom lindique, cet effet produit un son dun octave en dessous de la note joue. Rglages
de paramtre : Mix P1 (quantit deffet par rapport au signal brut), niveau octave P2.
Phaser
la diffrence du modle de phaser analogique sur le bouton Stompbox, ce phaser utilise un proces-
sus de huit tapes. Mais surtout, il offre bien plus quun son modul de la stompbox. Rglages de
paramtre : vitesseP1, profondeur P2.
Rotary
Cet effet simule le son dun HAUT-PARLEUR ROTATIF. coutez attentivement cet effet et vous en-
tendrez pendant la simulation de rotation un changement de tonalit cr par leffet Doppler. Rglages
de paramtre : vitesseP1, profondeur P2.
Reverse
Comme son nom lindique, jouez et vous aurez lcho. Fun GARANTI ! Rglages de paramtre :
dure P1 Time, mix P2.
Pitch Shifter
Un moyen parfait pour changer la tonalit de la note que vous jouez ! Avec la commande au pied
Sanpera I ou II, vous pouvez attribuer cet effet la commande au pied et faire le balayage entre la
note dorigine et la note slectionne dans le rglage du paramtre. Rglages de paramtre : intervalle
P1, mix P2.
Bouton Effects

Flanger
la diffrence du fanger analogique sur le bouton Stompbox, ce fanger utilise un temps de delay
plus long. Ce qui a pour effet daccentuer les basses frquences. Rglages de paramtre : vitesseP1,

Slap Back
Une RPTITION courte et rapide de la NOTE DORIGINE, le mme effet quun retour dcho.
Chicken pickin ? Rglages de paramtre : temps P1, mix P2.
Env Filter
Les effets Envelope Filter et Auto-Wah sont similaires. La principale diffrence se trouve dans
le rglage du paramtre. Avec lEnv Filter, vous pouvez accder lintensit (largeur de la bande
de frquence fltre) ce qui vous permet daller plus loin que le son dun Auto-Wah. Rglages de
paramtre : sensibilit P1 (seuil), intensit P2 (Q).
Chorus
SIMILAIRE au CHORUS ANALOGIQUE sur le bouton Stompbox mais avec un DELAY PLUS
LONG. Quest-ce que cela signife ? Et bien, cet effet vous permettra de crer un signal Wet
(impression deau) que vous trouvez normalement sur une pdale chorus Stompbox. Avec le rglage
le plus puissant, vous pouvez entendre un effet en doublage sur le signal. Rglages de paramtre :
vitesseP1, profondeur P2.
Tremolo
Cet effet sobtient en modulant lamplitude. En bref ? La note augmente et diminue lgrement et rapi-
dement de faon cyclique. Remarque : cet effet est diffrent de leffet Rotary. Avec le Tremolo, il ny a
pas pas de changement dans le pitch. Rglages de paramtre : vitesseP1, profondeur P2.
Looper
Vous ne pouvez pas imaginer le plaisir que vous aurez avec cet effet, mais diffcile dimaginer par
o commencer et o sarrter SANS une PDALE. Pour cette fonction, il faut donc une pdale
Sanpera I ou Sanpera II. Pas la peine de vous lancer dans cet achat ! Leffet looper vous offrira des
heures de fun. En gros, vous pouvez enregistrer 30 secondes et plus de tout, prrgler le son et en
plus jouer. REMARQUE : la LED qui correspond leffet looper sur le bouton sallume pendant
lenregistrement ou en jouant en boucle.

Pour restaurer les rglages standard (CE PROCESSUS SUPPRIME TOUTES LES PRESETS EN-

2. Selecteur Dimpedance
Utilisez ce slecteur pour faire correpondre limpdance de sortie de lamplifcateur celle des
enceintes connectes aux sorties HP(4). Si deux enceintes de mme impdance sont connectes,
slectionnez la moiti de cette valeur (par exemple: avec deux enceintes de 16 Ohm, slection-
nez 8 Ohm; avec deux enceintes de 8 Ohm, slectionnez 4 Ohm).

Bevor Sie Ihren Verstrker benutzen ist es sehr wichtig dass Sie die Wechselstromzufuhr im korrekten Spannungsbereich

Jede Komponente des Verstrkers hat eine ihr zugeordnete Nummer. Sehen Sie sich in dieser Gebrauchsanleitung der Bedi-
enungskonsole auf der Vorderseite an, um die einzelnen Komponenten neben der ihnen zugeordneten Nummer zu finden.
VENTILATION: Gewhren Sie fr angemessene Ventilation einen Mindestabstand von 60 cm von in der Nhe

Drehen Sie diesen Regler um Ihr Amp-Modell auszuwhlen. Wenn das LICHT ROT IST sind Sie im HIGH
GAIN-KANAL. Wenn das LICHT GRN IST sind Sie in der LOW GAIN-EINSTELLUNG. Halten
Sie den Regler 2 SEKUNDEN LANG GEDRCKT um in den Tuner-Modus zu gelangen. Die um den
Amp -Regler herum angeordneten LEDs identifzieren die Note auf die Sie sich einstimmen (oder die na-
heliegendste Note). Gleichzeitig zeigen die um den Effects-Regler (3) angeordneten LEDs an ob die Note
Kreuz oder b ist. Wenn sich die grne LED RECHTS von der 12 Uhr-Stellung befndet sind Sie im KREUZ
(Tonabsenkung). Wenn sich die grne LED LINKS von der 12 Uhr-Stellung ist sind Sie im b (Tonanhe-
bung). Wenn ALLE LEDs UM DEN EFFECTS-Regler herum erscheinen, sind Sie IN STIMMUNG!
3 - Effects Regler
Bettigen Sie diesen Regler zur Auswahl eines Rack-Effekts. Diese Effekte sind mit dem Loop der
Effekte auf einem Verstrker verbunden. Drcken Sie kurz den Regler um in den Edit-Modus (15) zu
gelangen.
4 - Pre Gain
Bettigen Sie diesen Regler um das Gain anzukurbeln und whlen Sie den gewnschten Verzerrungs-
grad aus. Im Edit-Modus kontrollieren Sie mit diesem Regler Parameter 1, je nach Wahl von Stomp-
boxes oder von Effects (15).

5 - Low-Regler
Niedrige EQ- Einstellung. Im Edit-Modus kontrollieren Sie mit diesem Regler Parameter 2, je nach
Wahl von Stompboxes oder von Effects (15).
6 - Mid-Regler
Mittlere EQ-Einstellung. Im Edit-Modus kontrollieren Sie mit diesem Regler das Feedback des Ver-
zgerungseffekts. Feedback bedeutet hier die Hufgkeit mit der sich die Verzgerung wiederholt.
7 - High-Regler
Hohe EQ-Einstellung. Im Edit-Modus kontrollieren Sie mit diesem Regler den Level oder das
Ausma des Verzgerungseffekts. Ganz links ist null angeordnet und ganz rechts liegt maximal.
8 - Post Gain
Dies ist ein individuelles Voreinstellungsvolumen. Im Edit-Modus kontrollieren Sie mit diesem Regler
das Ausma von Reverb (Hall).
9 - Aux Input
Schlieen Sie Ihren bevorzugten Mp3-Spieler, Drumcomputer oder CD-Spieler an und spielen Sie los.
10 - Master Volume
Lauter stellen. Bei uns geht es bis Nummer 13!

11 - Power Sponge

Gibt es nur bei VYPYR 75 und 100

Dieser Regler ermglicht die Senkung der Output-Funktion des Verstrkers. Verwechseln Sie den
Power Sponge nicht mit dem Master-Lautstrkeregler. Power Sponge regelt das Powerniveau das
der Verstrker produzieren kann. Diese patentierte Schaltung verschafft Ihnen die full-on cranked
Klangqualitt im Wohnzimmer.
12 - Power
Anschalten! Wegen Ihrer komplexen Funktionsablufe bentigen VYPYRs einige Momente zum Boo-
ten. Es geht sehr schnell und vielleicht fllt es Ihnen garnicht auf. Auf den VYPYR-Rhrenverstrkern
fnden Sie einen zustzlichen Standby-Schalter. Dieser Schalter ermglicht das Aufwrmen der Rhren.
Die Rhren mssen hei sein um die gewnschte Power und den Klang zu erzeugen. Wir empfehlen
zumindest drei Minuten zu warten bevor Sie den Standby-Schalter einschalten.
13 - Bank und Preset-Auswahl
Ihr VYPYR ist mit 12 im Werk vorgenommenen Presets (Voreinstellungen) ausgestattet. Diese Vor-
einstellungen sind in Gruppen von jeweils 4 angeordnet und knnen auf den Banken A, B und C ge-
speichert werden. Um eine Bank auszuwhlen drcken Sie einfach die Taste ganz links. Die LED wird
angeben auf welcher der vier Banken Sie sich gerade befnden. Whlen sie die Voreinstellung die Sie
hren mchten indem Sie eine der vier Tasten RECHTS von den BANK-TASTEN bettigen. Wenn Sie
unsere Voreinstellungen lschen und Ihre eigenen eingeben mchten, KEIN PROBLEM. Sobald Sie
den Verstrker konfguriert haben und es sich gut anhrt, HALTEN SIE EINE DER PRESET-TASTEN
GEDRCKT wie bei einem Autoradio. Ihr Ton ist damit gespeichert.
14 - Tap Tempo
Tappen Sie auf diese Taste um das Tempo des Verzgerungseffekts zu bestimmen. Wenn Sie KEINE
VERZGERUNG HREN, gehen Sie in den EDIT-Modus (15) und STELLEN SIE LEVEL HHER.
VORSICHT: Der Ein/Aus-Schalter dieses Gertes bricht nicht beide
Seiten der primren Hauptschaltung. Im Gehuse knnte sich noch
gefhrliche Energie befnden, selbst wenn der Ein/Aus-Schalter
auf AUS steht.

15 - Edit Mode (Edit-Modus)
Okay, von nun an ist es nicht mehr kompliziert. Im Edit-Modus werden die Regler 4-8 einfach zu ihren
alternativen Funktionen umgeschaltet, die unterhalb der Regler angegeben sind. Im Edit-Modus ist die
Edit Modus-LED entweder GRN wenn Sie Vernderungen in EFFECTS vornehmen, oder ROT wenn
Sie Vernderungen in STOMPBOxES ausfhren. Um in den Edit-Modus einzutreten drcken Sie
einfach entweder den Stompbox-Regler (1) oder den Effects-Regler (3). Um den Edit-Modus wieder zu
verlassen drcken Sie denselben Regler noch einmal.
Bei jedem Zugriff auf Delay oder Reverb mssen Sie in den Edit-Modus eintreten!
16 - Headphone/Record Out
Wir haben wirklich viel Zeit darauf verwandt eine Studio-Qualitt fr die Kopfhrerbuchse zu
erreichen, und daher knnen Sie mit den geeigneten Adaptern (nicht mitgeliefert) diesen Output
fr Tonaufnahmen verwenden. ANMERKUNG: Der Lautsprecher ist stumm geschaltet wenn sich
Kopfhrer in Gebrauch befnden! Master (10) kontrolliert die Lautstrke beim Kopfhrer.
17 - USB Record Out Nicht verfgbar bei VYPYR 15 und 30
Beim VYPYR bentigt USB Record out keine Treiber. Stecken Sie einfach ein gewhnliches USB-
Kabel in ihren Rechner und dieser wird Ihren VYPYR als ein Audio-Device identifzieren. ffnen
Sie Ihr bevorzugtes Aufnahmeprogramm und beginnen Sie aufzunehmen. Keine Angst, der Output
besitzt Mikrofon/Kabinett-Simulation und wird sich bis in Ihren Computer hinein prima anhren.
ANMERKUNG: Der Lautsprecher ist bei USB-Output absichtlich stumm geschaltet, der Kopfhrer-
Output hingegen bleibt fr Echtzeit-berwachung aktiv.

Weshalb die Show mit den verrckten Lichtern?
Damit sich unsere Verstrker whrend Spielpausen nicht langweilen. Keine Angst: Wenn Sie Ihre Gi-
tarre an den Verstrker anschlieen hrt die Lichtershow automatisch auf, und bleibt whrend der Be-
nutzungsdauer ausgeschaltet. Wenn beim Anschalten von Power Ihr Kabel in den Verstrker eingefh-
rt ist erscheint die Lichtershow nicht. Wollen Sie die Lichtershow ganz deaktivieren, so halten Sie
einfach die Preset-Tasten 3 und 4 gleichzeitig gedrckt whrend Sie den Verstrker anschalten. Beim
nchsten Anschalten des Verstrkers ist die Lichtershow dann deaktiviert.
Auswahl-Regler
Rechts von der Input-Buchse ist der VYPYR

in drei Sektionen untergliedert : Sie fnden dort die Regler

fr Stompbox-Auswahl, Amplifer-Auswahl und Effect-Auswahl. Beim Bettigen eines jeden Reglers
werden Sie bemerken dass die zugehrige LED die von Ihnen gewhlte Einstellung identifziert.
Weshalb haben Sie den Amp-Regler nicht links angeordnet wie bei anderen Verstrkern? Die
drei Sektionen sind von links nach rechts in der Reihenfolge angeordnet in der man sie in der
Signalkette fnden wrde. Stompboxes kommen normalerweise vor Verstrkern in der Signalkette,
deshalb fanden wir es am besten sie auf diesem Verstrker an die erste Stelle zu setzen.
Auswahl anderer Lautsprecher-Klangfarben:
Der Vypyr ist mit 4 verschiedenen Klangfarben fr Lautsprecher ausgestattet, die Sie ganz nach Ihrem
eigenen Geschmack auswhlen knnen. Das Auswhlen funktioniert ganz einfach. Sie halten dazu
beim Einschalten einfach eine der Preset-Tasten gedrckt und schon haben Sie folgende Einstellungen
zur Auswahl:
1. Die Standard-Klangfarbe
2. Dumpfere Klangfarbe bei allen Modellen
3. Hellere Klangfarbe bei allen Modellen
4. Heller bei den Modellen mit 120, 60 und 100 Watt, dumpfer bei Topteil-Modellen und bei Model-

Der erste Regler rechts von der Input-Buchse ist die Stompbox-
Auswahl. Mit dieser Kontrollfunktion wird die Stompbox ausgewhlt
(herkmmliche Anlage fr Bodeneffekte), und es ist genauso als ob Sie
Ihre Gitarre an Ihr bevorzugtes Pedal anschlieen und dann an Ihren Ver-
strker. Mit dem Stompbox-Regler knnen Sie mehrere ungewhnliche
Verzerrungs-und Boostpedale auswhlen, diese mit Verstrkereinstel-
lungen im Clean- oder Leadsound kombinieren und berraschend gute
Toneffekte erzielen. Bettigen Sie einfach den Stompbox-Regler um den
gewnschten Effekt auszuwhlen. Wenn Sie die Parameter neu einstellen
wollen DRCKEN Sie zum Eintritt in den EDIT-MODUS einfach den
REGLER (siehe EDIT MODE im Abschnitt Schnellstart).

Superheies Overdrive-Pedal, ausgezeichnet geeignet fr die Erzeugung von Crunch-Sounds vor
einer cleanen Amp-Einstellung. Oder auch vor einer schmutzigen Amp fr einen schreienden, an-
haltenden Lead-Ton verwendbar. Parameter-Einstellungen (Edit-Modus): P1 Level, P2 Drive.
X Boost
Diese Einstellung ist eine Art BOOSTER, nicht eigentlich ein Verzerrungspedal oder ein Clean Boost.
Dieser Effekt verfrbt Ihren Klang mit einem crunchartigen Overdrive der bestimmten Frequenzen
einen Boost verleiht und einen wrmeren Ton erzeugt. Parameter-Einstellungen: P1 Level, P2 Drive.
Fuzz
Klassischer Fuzz-Ton der 60er und 70er Jahre. Probieren Sie es mit einer cleanen Amp-Einstellung
auf dem Amp-Regler aus. Parameter-Einstellungen: P1 Level P2 Drive.
BC Chorus
Dieses unverwechselbar warme analoge Chorusmodell wird zweifellos eine der beliebtesten Selek-
tionen in Ihrem Voreinstellungsarsenal werden. Parameter-Einstellungen: P1 Speed, P2 Depth.
Squeeze
Dieser KOMPRESSOR ermglicht es Ihnen den anfnglichen OUTPUT LEVEL und die anfngliche
SENSITIVITT zu bestimmen (Edit-Modus). Kompressoren knnen hmmernde, klickende Tne auf
cleaner Gitarre oder mildes Sustain fr Lead-Arbeiten erzeugen. Probieren Sie diesen Stompbox-
Effekt auf einem cleanen Kanal aus, und schlagen Sie die Saiten zuerst sanft an und dann hrter
um den Effekt zu HREN und zu FHLEN. Parameter-Einstellungen: P1 Level, P2 Sensitivitt.

Ring Modulator
Der Ring Modulator kombiniert zwei Funktionen und spielt die Summe und die Differenz der
Frequenzen die in beiden Funktionen vorhanden sind. Sie werden diesen Effekt sicherlich
etwas unorthodox fnden, aber vielleicht wird er Ihnen Spa machen. Parameter-Einstellungen:
P1 Carrier-Frequenz, P2 Mix.
Auto Wah
Der Auto-Wah benutzt Frequenzflter-Durchlufe im normalerweise mit Vokaleffekten assoziierten
Bereich, um der Gitarre einen Wah-Ton zu verleihen. Parameter-Einstellungen: P1 Speed, P2
Sweep Depth.
Analog Flange
Flanging ist ein zeitbedingter Audio-Effekt der entsteht wenn zwei identische Signale miteinander
vermischt werden, wobei eines von ihnen leicht verzgert ist. Diese Verzgerung erzeugt einen
gesweepten Kammflter-Effekt.
MOG
Ein Effekt den wir selber geschaffen haben. MOG bedeutet Monophonic Octave Generator.
Wir erzeugen dabei ein Signal das EINE OKTAVE HHER liegt als das von Ihnen gespielte, und
ein weiteres das EINE OKTAVE UNTER ihm liegt. Dieser Effekt kann sich etwas knorrig an-
hren wenn er mit Saiten gespielt wird, versuchen Sie es zuerst mit einer einzelnen Note. Parame-
ter-Einstellungen: P1 Octave up level, P2 Octave down level
Analog Phase
Analog Phase ist ein Effekt der hufg mit Flanging verwechselt wird. Phasing benutzt Vernderun-
gen im Frequenzspektrum um Hhen und Tiefen im Audiosignal zu erzeugen.
Tube Scrm
Klassische Overdrive-Verzerrung mit einem kleinen Anfug von MID BOOST. Hervorragend
vor fast jedem Amp-Modell. Probieren Sie es erst einmal vor einem cleanen DLx aus. Parame-
ter-Einstellungen: P1 Level , P2 Drive.

REGLER. Wenn die LED GRN ist, befnden Sie sich auf dem
WENIGER VERZERRTEN (clean/grn) der beiden Kanle. Wenn
die LED ROT ist (roter Kanal), seien Sie bereit zu fetzen.
Ein Wort ber EQ:
Bei der Entwicklung der VYPYR Modeling-Amps haben wir sehr gewissenhaft die EQs entworfen,
und dabei bercksichtigt wie die EQ-Kontrollen auf den verschiedenen Verstrkern funktionieren. Der
JSx zum Beispiel hat einen aktiven EQ auf dem Lead-Kanal. Auf dem roten Kanalmodell des JSx
werden Sie bemerken dass der EQ sich dort sehr verschieden verhlt als ein EQ auf einem grnen
Kanal bei Twn. Sie knnen davon ausgehen dass der EQ bei jedem Amp-Modell sich genauso verhlt
wie auf dem ursprnglichen Amp. Daher wird der EQ bei einigen Modellen einen drastischen Effekt
haben, whrend sein Effekt bei anderen Modellen gering ist. Experimentieren Sie mit jedem Modell
um den von Ihnen gewnschten Ton zu whlen.

Grner Kanal: Sehr heller, cleaner Sound. Fr viele Spieler ist dieser Ton der Standard fr Clean.
Roter Kanal: Dieses Modell wurde einer kraftvollen Twn entnommen, mit der Reverb-Rhre als einer
zustzlichen Gain-Phase.
Dlx
Grner Kanal: Vintage-Tweed mit einer zustzlichen Mittenbetonung. Dieser Verstrker bricht schneller als
Twn mit geringerer Prsenz am hheren Ende.
Roter Kanal: Kraftvoller Dlx mit einer nach dem Ton-Stack eingefgten Gain-Phase.
Plxi
Grner Kanal: Klassischer Rock-Ton, um alles zu sagen.

Der dritte Regler von links ist der Effects-Regler. Dieser Regler whlt
einen gewnschten Rack-Effekt aus. Der Begriff Rack-Effekt wird
zur Beschreibung von Effekt-Devices verwandt die typischerweise
mit dem Loop der Effekte auf einem Verstrker verbunden sind. Diese
Gerte passen gewhnlich in ein 50 cm breites Gehuse (rack), da-
her die Bezeichnung Rack-Effekte. Die Effekte sind normalerweise
post-input, post EQ und hren sich von den Preamplifer-Effekten
(Stompboxes) eindeutig verschieden an. Um Ihren Effekt auszu-
whlen, drehen Sie einfach den Regler so dass die LED sich neben
dem gewnschten Effekt befndet.
Octaver
Wie der Name schon andeutet erzeugt dieser Effekt einen Ton der eine Oktave tiefer liegt als die von
Ihnen gespielte Note. Parameter-Einstellungen: P1 Mix (Ausma des Effekts VS trockenes Signal),
P2 Octave level.
Phaser
Im Unterschied zu dem Analog Phaser-Modell auf dem Stompbox-Regler benutzt dieser Phaser einen
Ablauf in acht Phasen. Dies bedeutet einen sehr viel ausgeprgteren Phasing-Sound als Sie ihn in
einer Stompbox fnden. Parameter-Einstellungen: P1 Speed, P2 Depth.
Rotary
Dieser Effekt simuliert den Sound eines ROTIERENDEN LAUTSPRECHERS.Wenn Sie sich diesen
Effekt genau anhren bemerken Sie whrend der simulierten Rotation des Lautsprechers eine Vern-
derung des Pitch aufgrund des Doppler-Effekts. Parameter-Einstellungen: P1 Speed, P2 Depth.
Reverse
Wie der Name andeutet: Spielen Sie etwas und es wird im Rckwrtsgang zurckgespielt. Dieser Ef-
fekt macht unheimlich Spa und SIE werden zum Mittelpunkt jeder Party! Parameter-Einstellungen:

Pitch Shifter
Eine groartige Methode den Pitch der von Ihnen gespielten Note zu ndern! Mit dem optionalen
Sanpera-Fuschalter I oder II knnen Sie diesen Effekt der Fukontrolle zuordnen und von der
ursprnglichen Note zu der in der Parameter-Einstellung ausgewhlten Note bergehen. Parameter-

Slap Back
Eine sehr schnelle, kurze WIEDERHOLUNG einer URSPRNGLICHEN NOTE, wobei es sich so
anhrt als ob die Note zurckklapst. Ist jemand gerade beim Chicken picking? Parameter-Einstel-
lungen: P1 Time, P2 Mix.
Env Filter
Abkrzung fr Envelope Filter, dieser Effekt ist dem Auto-Wah hnlich. Der hauptschliche Unter-
schied ist die Parameter-Einstellung. Mit dem Env Filter ermglichen wir Ihnen Zugang zum Q

Looper
Ich kann Ihnen kaum vermitteln wieviel Spa der Looper bereitet, aber trotz aller Versuche haben wir
keine Methode gefunden den Looper OHNE den FUSCHALTER in geeigneter Weise an-und ab-
zuschalten. Fr diese Funktion ist daher eine Sanpera I oder II-Fukontrolle erforderlich. Verlieren Sie
keine Zeit bevor Sie eine kaufen! Mit dem Looper werden Sie haufenweise Spa haben. Sie knnen
Aufnahmen jeder Art ausfhren die lnger als 30 Sekunden andauern, ihren Ton umschalten (Preset)
und darber hinwegspielen. Anmerkung: Die dem Looper auf dem Regler zugeordnete LED leuchtet
auf wenn der Loop aufgenommen oder zurckgespielt wird.

Um Ihren Verstrker auf die Werkeinstellungen zurckzusetzen (DURCH DIESEN VORGANG
WERDEN ALLE VON IHNEN GESPEICHERTEN VOREINSTELLUNGEN GELSCHT) stel-
len Sie das Gert ab, halten Sie die Preset-Tasten 1 und 2 gleichzeitig gedrckt und stellen Sie das
Gert wieder an. Nach kurzer Zeit erscheinen die LEDs wieder und besttigen dass die Einstellungen

1. Netzanschluss
U.S. Standard-Netzkabel
Das mit dem Gert gelieferte Netzkabel ist ein strapazierfhiges, dreidrahtiges Kabel mit einem kon-
ventionellen 120VAC-Stecker, welcher ein Erdungselement besitzt. Falls die benutzte Steckdose keine
Erdung hat muss ein geeigneter Adapter benutzt und der dritte Draht ordnungsgem geerdet werden.
Alle Gerte der Konstruktionsklasse 1 mssen an eine Steckdose mit Erdungsschutz angeschlossen
sein.
Brechen Sie niemals bei einer Vorrichtung den Erdungsstift ab, er ist fr Ihre Sicherheit geschaffen.
Der Gebrauch von Verlngerungskabeln sollte vermieden werden, aber falls erforderlich benutzen

2. Extension Speaker Out

Tube 60 und Tube 120 vorhanden. Falls Sie ein zustzliches Lautsprecherk-
abinett besitzen knnen Sie es hier anschlieen. Benutzen Sie unbedingt ein Lautsprecherkabel
und kein Netzkabel. In dem Geschft wo Sie Ihren Verstrker gekauft haben mssten Sie auch
das geeignete Kabel erhalten knnen. Gehen Sie sicher dass Ihr Lautsprecherkabinett mit
16 Ohms bewertet ist. Eine Nichtbeachtung dieser Anweisungen knnte zur Schdigung Ihres
Verstrkers fhren.
3. 8 Pin MIDI Beim VYPYR 15 nicht verfgbar
Schlieen Sie hier Ihre Sanpera I oder Sanpera II an. Dieser besondere Typ einer MIDI-Buchse
besorgt die Stromversorgung fr die Sanpera-Fukontrollen und ist fr ihre Funktionsfhigkeit

2. Impedanzwahlschalter
Zum Einstellen der geeigneten Impedanz der Lautsprecherbox(en), die an die Lautsprecherbu-
chsen (4) angeschlossen werden. Werden zwei Boxen mit gleicher Impedanz verwendet, muss
der Schalter auf die Hlfte des Werts der einzelnen Boxen eingestellt werden (Beispiel: Fr
zwei 16- -Ohm-Boxen wird der Schalter auf 8 Ohm gestellt, fr zwei 8-Ohm-Boxen wird er auf
4 Ohm gestellt).
3. Lautsprecherbuchsen
An diesen Buchsen knnen eine oder mehrere Lautsprecherboxen angeschlossen werden. Die
Mindestimpedanz eines Lautsprechers betrgt 4 Ohm. Der Impedanzwahlschalter (5) muss
entsprechend eingestellt werden.

What This Warranty Covers
Your Peavey Warranty covers defects in material and workmanship in Peavey products purchased and serviced in the U.S.A. and Canada.
What This Warranty Does Not Cover
The Warranty does not cover: (1) damage caused by accident, misuse, abuse, improper installation or operation, rental, product modification or neglect; (2) damage occurring
during shipment; (3) damage caused by repair or service performed by persons not authorized by Peavey; (4) products on which the serial number has been altered, defaced or
removed; (5) products not purchased from an Authorized Peavey Dealer.
Who This Warranty Protects
This Warranty protects only the original purchaser of the product.
How Long This Warranty Lasts
The Warranty begins on the date of purchase by the original retail purchaser. The duration of the Warranty is as follows:

What Peavey Will Do
We will repair or replace (at Peaveys discretion) products covered by Warranty at no charge for labor or materials. If the product or component must be shipped to Peavey for
Warranty service, the consumer must pay initial shipping charges. If the repairs are covered by Warranty, Peavey will pay the return shipping charges.
How To Get Warranty Service
(1) Take the defective item and your sales receipt or other proof of date of purchase to your Authorized Peavey Dealer or Authorized Peavey Service Center.
OR
(2) Ship the defective item, prepaid, to Peavey Electronics Corporation, International Service Center, 412 Highway 11 & 80 East, Meridian, MS 39301. Include a detailed description
of the problem, together with a copy of your sales receipt or other proof of date of purchase as evidence of Warranty coverage. Also provide a complete return address.
Limitation of Implied Warranties
ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ARE LIMITED IN DURATION TO THE LENGTH OF
THIS WARRANTY.
Some states do not allow limitations on how long an implied Warranty lasts, so the above limitation may not apply to you.
Exclusions of Damages
PEAVEYS LIABILITY FOR ANY DEFECTIVE PRODUCT IS LIMITED TO THE REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT OF THE PRODUCT, AT PEAVEYS OPTION. IF WE ELECT TO REPLACE THE
PRODUCT, THE REPLACEMENT MAY BE A RECONDITIONED UNIT. PEAVEY SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR DAMAGES BASED ON INCONVENIENCE, LOSS OF USE, LOST PROFITS,
LOST SAVINGS, DAMAGE TO ANY OTHER EQUIPMENT OR OTHER ITEMS AT THE SITE OF USE, OR ANY OTHER DAMAGES WHETHER INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR
OTHERWISE, EVEN IF PEAVEY HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
