Bal Ashram is a rehabilitation cum training center to cater specifically to the special needs of victims of child labour. Bal Ashram is a rehabilitation center for the rescued children giving them a feeling of cohesiveness, education and vocational training therapy helping them to become self supportive, self-confident and to overcome the traumatic spell of the past. Bal Ashram has a multiplicative role to play in the society, of providing rehabilitation to rescued children from various types of exploitative situations and worst from of labour,

generating awareness among the community members on various social issues especially trafficking and forced labour, educating and empowering the children and the community members to fight for their rights, and replicating the efforts of the organization in the elimination of child labour. This is done through leadership building, furthering the message of social justice, equity and peace towards overall development in the villages. So far more than 1500 children, who were trafficked for the purpose of forced labour, have been rehabilitated at the Bal Ashram. These children mostly bonded labourers working in brick kilns, carpet weaving, stone quarries, agriculture etc. belong to minority sections of the society and come from rural areas. Bal Ashram believes that systemic change can only be achieved when the victims themselves become the change agents against the exploitation and abuse that they have suffered. The underlying objective of Bal Ashram is to impart formal education along with vocational education. The Ashram also inculcates in the children a deep sense of social justice, gender equity, environmental concern and an understanding of India's rich cultural heritage. POSITION OVERVIEW The Programme Manager is responsible for working under the Project Director , on all aspects of developing and implementing the concerned programme and various projects within the preview of programme.
