A crucial meeting between the COSATU leadership and WFTU Secretariat was held in very positive and fraternal mood during a two-days visit of the South African delegation in Athens, Greece. Headed by the General Secretary of COSATU, Zwelinzima Vavi the delegation of COSATU consisted of comrades Tyotyo James, 1st Deputy President, Simon Mofokeng, General Secretary of CEPPWAWU and President of TUI Energy, Mzwandile Michael Makwayiba, President of NEHAWU and Vice-President of WFTU, Katishi Masemola, FAWU General Secretary, Bones Skulu, SACCAWU General Secretary and Thandi Shimange, POPCRU 1st Deputy President. The delegation meet with the WFTU General Secretary comrade George Mavrikos, the Deputy General Secretary comrade Swadesh Devroye, George Perros, member of the WFTU Presidential Council and Mohammed Iqnaibi, GUPW Palestine representative in the WFTU. During their visit the COSATU leadership addressed an open meeting of Greek trade unionists from PAME where comrade Vavi and comrade Masemola had the opportunity to present and analyze the situation in South Africa, the challenges and the struggles of the South African working class to combat the impacts of crisis, unemployment and poverty.

COMUNICADO DE PRENSA La direccin del COSATU visita las Oficinas Centrales de la FSM Una reunin crucial entre la direccin del COSATU (Congreso de Sindicatos Sudafricanos) y el Secretariado de la FSM se llev a cabo en un espritu positivo y fraternal durante una visita de 2 das de la delegacin sudafricana en Atenas, Grecia. Encabezada por el Secretario General del COSATU, Zwelinzima Vavi, la delegacin de la COSATU estuvo formada por los compaeros Tyotyo James, 1o Presidente Adjunto, Simon Mofokeng, Secretario General de CEPPWAWU y Secretario General de la UIS Energa, Mzwandile Michael Makwayiba, Presidente de NEHAWU y vicepresidente de la FSM, Katishi Masemola, Secretario General de FAWU, Bones Skulu, Secretario General de SACCAWU and Thandi Shimange, 1 Presidenta Adjunta de POPCRU. La delegacin se reni con el Secretario General de la FSM, compaero George Mavrikos, el Secretario General Adjunto compaero Swadesh Devroye, George Perros, miembro del Consejo Presidencial de la FSM y Mohhamed Iqnaibi, representante de la GUPW de Palestina en la FSM. Durante su visita, la direccin del COSATU habl en una reunin abierta de sindicalistas griegos del PAME, donde los compaeros Vavi y Masemola tuvieron la oportunidad de presentar y analizar la situacin en Sudfrica, los desafos y las luchas de la clase obrera sudafricana por combatir los efectos de la crisis, el desempleo y la pobreza.
