The Wisdom of Daniel and Fasting-Derived Humility The fear of hwhy is the instruction of wisdom, and before honor is humility. Mishle/Proverbs 15:33

a In the life and example of Daniel, we see a man who sought hwhy by prayer and
fasting. We see this prophet feared hwhy and we see he cultivated that reverence for Elohim through times of continual prayer and fasting-derived meekness and humility. As a result of this humility, Daniel was honored: in answer to his prayers and petitions, this prophet was honored in the Courts of Heaven as messengers/angels were sent to him from on high; he was honored in the courts of pagan kings as they derived benefit from Daniels Elohim-given wisdom and prophetic foreknowledge; and the kings he served not only exalted Daniel to rule in the midst of his enemies, but he even prevailed when kings were removed and new rulers were established. Finally, Daniel ruled in the midst of his enemies as this servant of hwhy even prevailed when false witnesses sought to have him executed. The Mashiach tells us the very hairs of our head are numbered:1 The Creator knows us intimately because He formed us.2 And His innumerable thoughts toward us3 show that hwhy cares about us exceedinglybeyond measure.4 Our days on this earth are likewise numbered.5 Further evidence also indicates that even our names are numbered. In this study, we will see that hwhy numbered the name of the prophet, Daniel, in a most amazing and inspired manner. We will see those numbers which surround Daniels name were marvelously aligned with many of the most significant events which transpired in the life and ministry of the man who Elohim raised up to end Yisraels captivity in Babylon and to restore our nation to the Land of Promise after the seventy-year punishment had been fulfilled.

The Prophet Daniel and the Number of His Name One of the most striking things about the prophet Daniel was his reaction to very trying and even potentially deadly circumstances. When the order was given by King Nebuchadnezzar to destroy all the wise men of Babel6 (because there was no one who could interpret the rulers dream 7), Daniel sought for an audience with the king, but only after he had negotiated for time to go forth and join with his three friends and to pray for compassion before the Elohim of Heaven: 10 The Chaldeans answered before the king and said, There is not a man upon the earth that can show the kings matter; therefore, there is no king, however great and powerful, that has asked such a thing of any scribe, or magician, or Chaldean. 11 For the thing that the king demands is extraordinary, and there is no other that can show it before the king, except the gods, whose dwelling is not with flesh. 12 For this cause, the king was irritated and very angry, and commanded to destroy all the wise men of Babel. 13 And the decree went forth that the wise men were to be slain; and they sought Daniel and his companions to slay them. 14 Then Daniel answered with counsel and prudence to Arioch, the chief of the kings bodyguard, who had gone forth to slay the wise men of Babel: 15 he answered and said to Arioch, the kings captain, Why is the decree so rigorous from the king? Then Arioch made the thing known to Daniel. 16 And Daniel went in, and requested of the king that he would give him time, that he might show the king the interpretation. 17 Then Daniel went to his house, and made the thing known to Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah, his companions; 18 that they would desire mercies of the Elah of the heavens concerning this secret; that Daniel and his companions should not perish with the rest of the wise men of Babel. Daniel 2:10-18 The answer to this prayer was absolutely historical! Daniel was given a dream which not only matched the one seen by Nebuchadnezzar, but the prophet also came forth with the interpretation of that dream. It was the dream as well as the interpretation that Daniel made known to Nebuchadnezzar.8 On still another occasion, scheming men had contrived to cause a decree to go forth that to petition/pray to any god or man, other than King Darius, would result in death by being cast into a den of lions.9 After knowing that this edict had been proclaimed, Daniel still did as he had always done: he bowed on his knees,10 and prayed to hwhy
Babel is the transliteration of the Hebrew word for Babylon. This is the same word used when hwhy came down to confuse the language of the earth at the rebellion which occurred in the building of the Tower of Babel. Indeed, there is little reason to doubt this rebellion occurred in the very same place which was later known as Babel/Babylon. 7 Daniel 2:1-9 8 Daniel 2:1-49 9 Daniel 6:1-9 10 For many other references to bowing on our knees in prayer, see these Scripture texts: 2Chronicles 6:13, 1Kings 8:54, Ezra 9:5, Psalm 95:6, Daniel 6:10, Luke 22:41, Acts 20:36, 21:5, Ephesians 3:14-16.

three times a day, facing the west toward the city of Yerushalayim and the Temple of hwhy where the Most High had placed His Name:11 And when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house (now his windows were open in his chamber toward Yerushalayim12), and he kneeled upon his knees three times a day, and prayed, and gave thanks before his Elah, as he did aforetime. Daniel 6:10 Daniel always saw hwhy as the Sovereign Ruler of Heaven and earth.13 So his response was to always take his concern before the Highest Court in the Universe. Such is the case with earnest and heartfelt prayer. True prayer is to align ourselves with the will of Heaven that we might be/become vessels to bring to pass what He wants to do on earth.14 In light of all this, we consider the misparim value of Daniels name:

(mv) 95 = (30) l + (1) a + (10) y + (50) n + (4) d = laynd = Daniel While the misparim of Daniels name is 95, just look at what hwhy reveals to be the pivotal subject of Tehillim 95: Come let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before hwhy our Maker. Tehillim/Psalm 95:6 Psalm 95 is a song of instruction about the importance of bowing down in reverent worship and subjection to the Most High. The context of Psalm 95 shows that by Yisraels refusal to continually bow in prayer and worship before hwhy in the wilderness, our forefathers were effectively hardening their hearts against Him.15 As a result, they failed to obey Him and to enter His physical rest (they failed to uphold the Seventh Day Shabbat), they failed to enter His spiritual rest and to overcome sin, and so they also failed to enter His Inheritance-Rest: In their unbelief,16 Yisrael disobeyed, and so they were disallowed from entering the Land of Promise.17 Because of all this, we believe Tehillim 95 was very meaningful to the prophet Daniel, even before the captivity. Because the misparim of the prophets name (95) aligned

2Chronicles 6:36-39 (i.e., Jerusalem) 13 Daniel 1:1-2 14 Matthew 6:9 15 In his classic book on prayer, E.M. Bounds wrote that prayerlessness is sin. The Word shows us that prayer is the beginning of all righteousness, so that the absence of prayer would be the beginning of a hardened heart (Hebrew 3:1219) and all subsequent unrighteousness. We see this confirmed by the words of Tehillim/Psalm 95 and Hebrews 3-4. 16 Hebrew 4:1-2, Romans 9:30-33 17 Psalm 95:6-11

with Psalm 95, we believe he took the lines of that song to heart and that their meaning and intent were deeply ingrained within his character.18 Yet once Daniel found himself in Babylonian captivity, this psalm became even more significant since he had been removed from that Promised Rest in the Land of Yisrael. Like Yisrael of old, it remained to be seen if Daniel would enter into the promised rest in the Land of Cannan. So this prophet is seen continually bowing down on his knees before hwhy his Maker.

The Prophet Daniel and the Hanging Gardens of Babylon Daniel eventually became known the world over for his great wisdom.19 A video by the title, The Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, narrated by Pierce Brosnan, indicates the Hanging Gardens of Babylon were overseen by a Hebrew slave who received special rations from the kings table.20 Does this sound like anyone we know?21 This writer further suspects that Daniel did much more than merely caring for the gardens. Given that kings in Yisrael had their own, special gardens,22 this author suspects that Daniel also designed the now-famous, yet no-longer-seen, ancient landmark and that he oversaw its construction. Of course, that cannot be proven and being dogmatic over the point is unnecessary. In any case, the Spirit of hwhy reveals a marvelous connection between Daniels worship of the Elohim of Heaven and the immense wisdom which was given to him as a captive in a foreign land. We now investigate and contemplate these great subjects.

The Place Value and the Full Value of Daniels Name We have seen the misparim of Daniels name is 95. So that Daniels life mirrored the most important aspects of Psalm 95 is simply not coincidental. We now note the place value of Daniels name is 41:23

(pv) 41 = (12) l + (1) a + (10) y + (14) n + (4) d = laynd = Daniel Yet what number is derived from adding the misparim and the place value of the prophets name? (pv) 41 = Daniel (mv) 95 = Daniel ================ (fv) 136 = Daniel

Note: Daniel was stationed in Babylon while his three friends were sent to an outer province. Daniel 3:1, 30 22 2Kings 9:27, 21:18, 25:3-4, Jeremiah 39:4, Nehemiah 3:15 23 Misparim and Place Value Charts are seen at the end of this study and readers are encouraged to verify these values and to see how simple it is to determine the various values seen in the present work.

The full value (fv) of Daniels name is 136. When we recall the history-making ministry of Daniel involved extensive times of earnest prayer and fasting,24 and when we ponder the resulting wisdom and revelation given to him by the visitation of heavenly messengers, that the full value of his name would be 136 is simply beyond the amazing. We say this because the Hebrew word for fasting (Mwu/tsme) also adds to 136, exactly matching the full value of Daniels name:

(mv) 136 = (40) M + (6) w + (90) u = Mwu/tsme/fasting And yet, there is still more. It was Daniels times of fasting-derived meekness and humility that led to the visitation of heavenly messengers25who were sent in response to his petitions. And those visitations resulted in Daniels heavenly-bestowed wisdom. Recall what was said to the prophet by the messenger: 11 And he said to me, Daniel, man greatly beloved, understand the words that I speak to you, and stand upright: for to you I am now sent. And when he had spoken this word to me, I stood trembling. 12 Then he said to me, Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that you set your heart to understand, and to humble yourself before your Elohim,26 your words were heard, and I have come because of your words. Daniel 10:11-12 Daniel sought hwhy by prayer and fasting. As a result, messengers were sent from the Presence of hwhy in the Heavens to bring the prophet answers to his petitions and to give him wisdom and revelation. Yet, behold the inspired place value of the three Hebrew words for fast / fasting, messenger, and wisdom:

(pv) 37 = (13) M + (6) w + (18) u = Mwu/tsme/fasting/fast

(pv) 37 = (11) K + (1) a + (12) l + (13) m = Kalm / malak / messenger

(pv) 37 = (5) h + (13) m + (11) k + (8) x = hmkx / chokmah / wisdom The place value for all three of these words is 37! And throughout Scripture history, we see heavenly messengers/angels attending to those who sought hwhy by prayer and fasting. At the end of His forty days of fasting, messengers ministered to the Messiah: Then the devil left Him; and behold, messengers came and ministered to Him. Matthew 4:11

Daniel 9:1-23, 10:1-11 Daniel 9:1-23, 10:1-11 26 (i.e., from the very first day Daniel began to humble himself through prayer and fasting, Daniel 10:1-3)

Messengers impart the Spirit and power of Elohim to those who have sought hwhy by prayer and fasting:27 1 In the third year of Cyrus king of Persia a thing was revealed unto Daniel, whose name was called Belteshazzar; and the thing was true, even a great warfare: and he understood the thing, and had understanding of the vision. 2 In those days I, Daniel, was mourning three whole weeks.28 3 I ate no pleasant bread, neither came flesh nor wine into my mouth, neither did I anoint myself at all, till three whole weeks were fulfilled 8 So I was left alone, and saw this great vision, and there remained no strength in me; for my comeliness was turned in me into corruption, and I retained no strength. 9 Yet I heard the voice of his words; and when I heard the voice of his words, then was I fallen into a deep sleep on my face, with my face toward the ground. 10 And, behold, a hand touched me, which set me upon my knees and upon the palms of my hands. 11 And he said to me, Daniel, man greatly beloved, understand the words that I speak unto you, and stand upright; for to you I am now sent. And when he had spoken this word to me, I stood trembling 15 and when he had spoken unto me according to these words, I set my face toward the ground, and was dumb.16 And, behold, one in the likeness of the sons of men touched my lips: then I opened my mouth, and spoke, and said to him that stood before me, My Sovereign, by reason of the vision my sorrows are turned upon me, and I retain no strength. 17 For how can the servant of this my Sovereign talk with this my Sovereign? For as for me, straightway there remained no strength in me, neither was there breath left in me. 18 Then there touched me again one like the appearance of a man, and he strengthened me. 19 And he said, Man greatly beloved, fear not: peace be unto you: be strong, yes, be strong. And when he spoke to me, I was strengthened, and said, Let my Sovereign speak; for you have strengthened me. Daniel 10:1-3, 811, 15-18 Accordingly, after the messengers had ministered to eSwhy at the end of His forty days of prayer and fasting, He returned to Galilee in the power of the Spirit: And eSwhy returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and a fame went out concerning Him through all the region round about. Luke 4:14 It is also clear that these messengers bring forth the Word of hwhy from His Throne in the heavens and that they convey/impart that Word to the humble:

Ezekiel 3:15-24 Mourning, means Daniel was fasting and ate no food for three weeks. Matthew 9:14-15

Who makes winds His messengers; flames of fire His ministers Psalm 104:4/Hebrews 1:7 Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to do service for the sake of them that shall inherit salvation? Hebrews 1:14 We saw this in the example of Daniel. In the Book of Daniel, chapters 9-12, we see this mans prayer and fasting led to prophetic revelation of things to come: because he had prepared his heart 29 before the Most High by prayer and fasting, Daniel subsequently received heavenly visions from messengers sent by hwhy Himself. So the number relationship seen above (where fasting = messenger = wisdom = 37) is not coincidental: it is an inspired result, supporting inspired truth, and it all provides significant, inspired instruction for any who would seek and find hwhy in our days. You Shall Seek and Find Me When You Search for Me With All Your Heart One of my favorite Scriptures is seen in the lines of Jeremiah 29:13. It is suspected that many others also find this magnificent promise to be a great blessing of personal encouragement whenever it is read, or recollected, during times of prayer and meditation: And you shall seek Me, and find Me, when you shall search for Me with all your heart. Jeremiah 29:13 This is a very moving and powerful promise, even when seen outside of its fullest context. Yet it becomes even more meaningful when we behold the setting over which this Scripture speaks and the occasions in Yisraels history over which this text is prophetic. Many centuries earlier, hwhy had foretold of Yisraels captivity in Babylon, and He had clearly indicated in the Torah what would be required to bring an end to the bondage: 26 I call heaven and earth to witness against you this day, that you shall soon utterly perish from off the land whereunto you pass over the Yarden30 to possess: you shall not prolong your days on it, but shall be utterly destroyed. 27 And hwhy will scatter you among the peoples, and you shall be left a small company among the nations to which hwhy will lead you. 28 And there you shall serve elohim, the work of mens hands, wood and stone, which neither see, nor hear, nor eat, nor smell. 29 And from there you shall seek hwhy your Elohim, and you shall find Him, if you shall seek Him with your whole heart and with your whole being. Deuteronomy 4:26-29

Jeremiah 4:3-4, Hosea 10:12, Ezra 7:10, 2Chronicles 19:3. Contrast: 2Chronicles 12:14. (translated Jordan)

The context here is captivity-related, and the word in this last verse sounds very similar to the Word of hwhy which He would later speak through the prophet Jeremiah (29:13). To be released from captivity and to be restored to the Land, someone in Yisrael would have to seek hwhy with his/her whole heart. Yet we need to know the particulars of what constitutes such wholehearted seeking. When we see the context surrounding that later promise of deliverance (the promise given through Jeremiah), it is apparent that this is also related to Yisrael seeking and finding hwhy in captivity and being delivered from bondage to return to the Land of Yisrael: 4 Thus says hwhy of hosts, the Elohim of Yisrael, to all the captivity whom I have caused to be carried away from Yerushalayim to Babel: 5 Build houses, and dwell in them, and plant gardens, and eat the fruit of them. 6 Take wives, and beget sons and daughters; and take wives for your sons, and give your daughters to husbands, that they may bear sons and daughters; and multiply there, and be not diminished. 7 And seek the peace of the city where I have caused you to be carried away captive, and pray to hwhy for it: for in the peace thereof shall ye have peace. 8 For thus says hwhy of hosts, the Elohim of Yisrael: Let not your prophets that are in your midst, nor your diviners deceive you, neither hearken to your dreams, which you like to dream. 9 For they prophesy falsely unto you in My Name: I have not sent them, says hwhy. 10 For thus says hwhy: When seventy years shall be accomplished for Babel, I will visit you, and perform My good word toward you, in bringing you back to this place. 11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says hwhy, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you in your latter end a hope. 12 And you shall call upon Me, and you shall go and pray to Me, and I will hearken to you; 13 and you shall seek Me and find me, when you shall search for Me with all your heart, 14 and I will be found of you, says hwhy. And I will turn your captivity, and I will gather you from all the nations, and from all the places where I have driven you, says hwhy; and I will bring you again into the place from where I have caused you to be carried away captive. Jeremiah 29:4-14 So the full context of the promise to seek and find hwhy related to Yisrael being delivered from captivity and returned to the Land of Promise. In still another place, hwhy said He would require their proud, uncircumcised hearts to be humbled before Yisrael could be brought back to the Land: 38 And you shall perish among the nations, and the land of your enemies shall eat you up. 39 And they that are left of you shall pine away in their iniquity in your enemies lands; and also in the iniquities of their fathers shall they pine away with them. 40 And they shall confess their iniquity, and the iniquity of their fathers, in their trespass which they trespassed against me, and also that, because they walked contrary to Me, 41 I also
8

walked contrary to them, and brought them into the land of their enemies. If, then, their uncircumcised heart be humbled, and they then accept the punishment of their iniquity; 42 then I will remember My covenant with Yaacov; and also My covenant with Yitzchak, and also My covenant with Abraham I will remember; and I will remember the land. Leviticus 26:3842 All of this is of such great significance because it was the prophet Daniel who fulfilled the requirements seen in the above Scriptures: it was his heart that was humbled before hwhy by prayer and fasting; it was his praying that confessed the punishment of captivity had come upon Yisrael because of their disobedience. And hwhy was found of Daniel because the prophet met the requirement of seeking the Most High with the whole heart: 1 In the first year of Darius the son of Ahasuerus, of the seed of the Medes, who was made king over the realm of the Chaldeans, 2 in the first year of his reign, I, Daniel, understood by the books that the number of the years, whereof the Word of hwhy came to Jeremiah the prophet, for the accomplishment of the desolations of Yerushalayim, was seventy years. 3 And I set my face to the Sovereign hwhy, to seek by prayer and supplications, with fasting, and sackcloth, and ashes; 4 and I prayed to hwhy my Elohim, and made my confession, and said, Alas Sovereign! The great and awesome El, keeping covenant and lovingkindness with those that love Him, and that keep His commandments: 5 we have sinned, and have committed iniquity, and have done wickedly, and have rebelled, even turning aside from Your commandments and from Your ordinances. 6 And we have not hearkened to Your servants the prophets, who spoke in Your Name to our kings, our princes, and our fathers, and to all the people of the land. 7 Yours, Sovereign, is the righteousness, but to us, confusion of face, as at this day, to the men of Yahudah, and to the inhabitants of Yerushalayim, and to all Yisrael, that are near, and that are far off, in all the countries where You have driven them, because of their unfaithfulness in which they have been unfaithful against You. 8 Sovereign, to us is confusion of face, to our kings, to our princes, and to our fathers, because we have sinned against You. 9 With hwhy our Elohim are mercies and pardons, for we have rebelled against Him; 10 and we have not hearkened to the Voice of hwhy 31 our Elohim, to walk in His laws, which He set before us through His servants the prophets.32 11 And all Yisrael has

Psalm 95:6-11 Psalm 95:6-11. The ministry-service of the prophets was to teach Yisrael to hear the Voice of hwhy, the Voice of His Spirit, revealed in the Torah (Psalm 95:6-11). And the record shows that the prophets of hwhy kept, taught, and upheld all of the following: The Shabbat (Isaiah 52:6, 56:6, 58:1-13, 66:23-24, Jeremiah 17:19-27, Ezekiel 22:23-26, Amos 8:4-7, Nehemiah 10:31), the Feasts (Nahum 1:15, Zechariah 14:16-19), the laws of clean and unclean animal flesh (Isaiah 65:2-7, 66:3, Ezekiel 22:23-26), the Year of Release (Jeremiah 34:8-21, Nehemiah 10:31), and other injunctions from the Ten Words/Commandments (Jeremiah 7:9-15, Hoshea 4:1-6). And the prophets warned Yisrael of the evil that

transgressed Your Law, even turning aside so as not to listen to Your Voice.33 And the curse has been poured out upon us, and the oath that is written in the Law of Mosheh, the servant of Elohim: for we have sinned against Him. 12 And He has performed His words, which He spoke against us, and against our judges that judged us, by bringing upon us a great evil; so that there has not been done under the whole heaven as has been done upon Yerushalayim. 13 As it is written in the Law of Mosheh, all this evil has come upon us; yet we besought not hwhy our Elohim, that we might turn from our iniquities, and understand Your truth. 14 And hwhy has watched over the evil, and brought it upon us; for hwhy our Elohim is righteous in all His works which He has done; and we have not hearkened to His Voice.34 15 And now, hwhy our Elohim, who brought Your people forth out of the land of Egypt with a strong hand, and has made You a Name, as it is this day, we have sinned, we have done wickedly. 16 Sovereign, according to all Your righteousnesses, I beseech Your, let Your anger and Your fury be turned away from Your city Yerushalayim, Your qadosh mountain; for because of our sins, and because of the iniquities of our fathers, Yerushalayim and Your people are a reproach to all around us. 17 And now, our Elohim, hearken to the prayer of Your servant, and to his supplications, and cause Your face to shine upon Your sanctuary that is desolate, for the Sovereigns sake. 18 Incline Your ear, my Elohim, and hear; open Your eyes and behold our desolations, and the city that is called by Your Name: for we do not present our supplications before thee because of our righteousnesses, but because of Your manifold mercies. 19 Sovereign, hear! Sovereign, forgive! Sovereign, hearken and do! Defer not, for Your own sake, my Elohim! for Your city and Your people are called by Your Name. 20 And while I was speaking, and praying, and confessing my sin and the sin of my people Yisrael, and presenting my supplication before hwhy my Elohim for the qadosh mountain of my Elohim; 21 while I was yet speaking in prayer, the man Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision at the beginning, flying swiftly, touched me about the time of the evening offering. 22 And he informed me, and talked with me, and said, Daniel, I am now come forth to make you skillful of understanding. 23 At the beginning of your supplications the word went forth, and I am come to declare it; for you are greatly beloved. Therefore consider the word, and have understanding in the vision Daniel 9:1-23

would come upon them for failing to obey the Voice of hwhy given through His Torah. Jeremiah 17:19-27, Nehemiah 13:15-18 33 Psalm 95:6-11. The Voice of the Spirit was revealed in/through the Torah and it was the very Spirit of the Messiah that inspired the prophets to teach the Torah to Yisrael! 1Peter 1:10-11 And this is also the Voice of the Spirit that Abraham heard as he walked by faith, in the love of hwhy (Exodus 20:6), and upheld the Torah. hwhy had long-since stated His requirement that Yisrael would have to seek Him with a whole heart before He would be moved to release them from captivity and to bring them back to the Land of Promise.35 So it is most noteworthy to see that when Daniel sought hwhy with all his heart, he did so by prayer and fasting: And I set my face to the Sovereign hwhy, to seek by prayer and supplications, with fasting, and sackcloth, and ashes Daniel 9:3 On a different occasion, Daniel humbled himself when seeking hwhy across a 21-day fasta time of humility before the Most High which resulted in yet another heavenly visitation: 1 In the third year of Cyrus, king of Persia, a thing was revealed to Daniel, whose name was called Belteshazzar; and the thing is true, but the appointed time of trial is long; and he understood the thing, and had understanding of the vision. 2 In those days I, Daniel, was mourning 36 three full weeks: 3 I ate no pleasant bread, neither came flesh nor wine into my mouth, neither did I anoint myself at all, till three full weeks were fulfilled 12 And he said to me, Fear not, Daniel; for from the first day that you did set your heart to understand, and to humble yourself before your Elohim, your words were heard, and I have come because of your words. Daniel 10:1-3,12 So we see that to seek and find hwhy with a whole heart requires prayer with Spirit-led times of fasting. Anything less than humbling ourselves before Elohim with prayer and fasting would not constitute seeking hwhy with a whole heart. And what it means to seek hwhy wholeheartedly is still so very relevant in our own days, at this critical time in world history. If My People, Upon Whom My Name is Called All of this is of such great significance because it was the prophet Daniel who fulfilled the requirements seen in Scriptures about deliverance from captivity: it was his heart that was humbled before hwhy by prayer and fasting; it was his praying that confessed the punishment of captivity had come upon Yisrael because of their disobedience to the Voice/Spirit/Torah of hwhy.37 As a result, hwhy was found of Daniel because he met the requirement of seeking the Most High with the whole heart. So what does this mean for believers in our days? Specifically, how does the life and example of Daniel compare to the Scripture promise seen in 2Chronicles 7:14? For this is an oft-quoted, but little understood text:
35 36

Deuteronomy 4:23-29, 30:1-5, Leviticus 26:40-42, Jeremiah 29:4-14 Mourning is a key word related to fasting: Isaiah 61:3, Matthew 9:14-15 37 Compare Leviticus 26:40-41 and Daniel 9:4-14.

13 If I shut up the heavens that there be no rain, or if I command the locust to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among My people; 14 and My people, upon whom My Name is called,38 humble themselves, and pray, and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways; then I will hear from the heavens, and forgive their sin, and heal their land. 2Chronicles 7:13-14 While many believing circles cite this text, how many of these dear souls authoritatively teach the people of the Most High that they are failing to follow this instruction apart from humbling themselves before hwhy and seeking Him wholeheartedly by times of personal and corporate prayer and fasting? Scriptures are clear on this matter: To seek and find hwhy requires seeking Him with the whole heart, and the prophet Daniel stands as a clear example that such wholehearted seeking entails fasting-derived humility.39 A Final Word We live in perilous times as the unrighteousness of man increases on every front; lawlessness abounds on every side. Societies worldwide have long-since begun to crack and crumbleboth morally and, thus, economically40and many nations now teeter on the precipice of history. So it appears that it will take very little in the way of Divine Wrath to permanently bring down nation upon nation. When the Most High arises to shake mightily the earth,41 there will be no remedy for those great multitudes who have forsaken His ways. As the powers of heaven are shaken, the stars will fall: the earth and the sea will shake;42 through earthquakes, volcanoes, and tidal waves, hwhy will destroy every sinful kingdom from off the face of the earth.43 The people of Elohim must begin to draw near to His Throne of favor with a renewed urgency and to find refuge in the only place it is to be had: in the secret place of the Most High.44 The emissary Shaul indicated that, where sin abounds, the favor of hwhy

hwhy El Shaddai will rebuke anyone who

copies these truths for republication and/or who subsequently attempts to reproduce and sell them. Isaiah 55:1-2, Micah 3:11, 1Peter 5:2 We believe most copyrights have been abused worldwide in religious circles as false shepherds and other merchants feed on the sin of the people. These many abuses have filled the worship house of hwhy with money changers who hinder True Worship by robbing and oppressing the poor.46 Many have turned reverence and the worship of hwhy into a means of great, personal gain.47 We assert such things were never meant to be.48 Hence, this copyright is intended to allow for free distribution of the Word of hwhy with the following, minimal limitations:

A letters place value, or what some people call the ordinal value, is simply obtained by finding its numerical order, or position, within the ALEPH-BEIT. So, from first to last, we have ALEPH = 1 while TAV = 22. Below are provided more compact Place Value and Misparim Charts which readers may wish to print and cut out so you may more readily confirm the calculations in this document as well as finding the MV or PV of any Hebrew word.
