Additional features include contact capabilities, as well as complete steady-state and transient thermal analyses featuring convection, conduction, radiation and phase change. This product also offers enhanced technology to deliver improved usability and performance. The implementation of mixed U-P formulation, using Lagrange multipliers, helps ensure better convergence and robustness for incompressible hyper-elastic materials such as rubbers and polymers. This new formulation can be used in conjunction with B-bar, URI, and classical displacement. Further,ANSYS/Mechanical contains the most complete line of solvers available to resolve extensive and intricate real-world problems. It utilizes a complete range of nonlinear and linear elements, as well as a full complement of nonlinear and linear material laws, fro m metals to rubbers and polymers.

ANSYS/Structural delivers increased flexibility, accuracy and speed with the addition of nonlinear material models and several enhancements in element technology. The implementation of mixed U-P formulation, using Lagrange multipliers, helps to ensure better convergence and robustness for incompressible hyperelastic materials such as rubbers and polymers. ANSYS/Structural offers a variety of inelastic material models to simulate real world conditions. Users can choose from MooneyRivlin, Neo-Hookean, Polynomial, Arruda-Boyce and Ogden models to accurately simulate incompressible materials. Furthermore, a new user-programmable feature for constitutive modeling provides the means for constructing custom material models, as well as links to third party libraries.
ANSYS/Multiphysics
As one of the flagship products, ANSYS/Multiphysics allows users to couple structural, thermal, fluidic and electromagnetic effects simultaneously on designs. This coupling of effects, in which one is dependent upon the behavior of another, is known as coupled-field or "multiphysics" simulation. This technology helps companies build better products more efficiently and at a lower cost; helping to ensure its competitiveness in today's fast-paced business world. ANSYS/Multiphysics offers a new material definition GUI, along with new material models for hyperelasticity, viscoplasticity and plasticity. An Arbitrary-Lagrangian-Eulerian (ALE) scheme performs time-accurate fluid-structure interaction (FSI) simulations, along with a new FSSOLV macro for static FSI cases. It also offers surface-to-surface thermal radiation capabilities for CFD problems. Plus, with ANSYS/Multiphysics, users can study volumeof-fluid surface tension effects for capillary and droplettype flows. Other features include new thermalmechanical contact elements, tangential vector HighFrequency electromagnetics elements for resonant, propagating, radiation and scattering phenomena, along with Perfectly Matched Layers boundaries for efficient reductions in HF far-field meshing requirements.
ANSYS/LS-DYNA
By leveraging industry-leading explicit dynamic technology from the Livermore Software T echnology Corporation, ANSYS/LS-DYNA is the premier software for the simulation of explicit dynamic engineering problems. ANSYS/LS-DYNA integrates best-in-class explicit dynamic technology with the ANSYS GUI, enabling robust pre- and post-processing. The software also offers restart capabilities and support for two-dimensional elements, both of which dramatically reduce solution time.
ANSYS/FLOTRAN
Solving a wide variety of CFD problems, ANSYS/FLOTRAN is the very definition of flexible and easy-to-use CFD software. Manufacturing companies in industries ranging from automotive, aerospace and heavy machinery, to computers, electronics and MEMS devices, use ANSYS/FLOTRAN to produce high-quality designs and reduce costly prototyping cycles. With ANSYS/FLOTRAN, users can conduct free-surface simulations, including surface tension effects, enabling the user to predict the time-dependent behavior of capillary and droplet break-off flows.
ANSYS/Emag
The price/performance leader in the industry, ANSYS/Emag contains extensive analysis capabilities that include static, transient, and harmonic low-frequency and electromagnetic tools. Available as an independent module or as an add-on feature,ANSYS/Emag can simulate electrostatics, circuits and current conductions, as well as charged-particle tracing in both electrostatic and magnetostatic fields. The software also features the T refftz domain method, which brings hybrid boundary element methods to address far-field simulation. The ANSYS T refftz domain method combines the strengths of finite element and boundary element simulation methods.
ANSYS/ED
ANSYS/ED is an economical and complete introduction to the ANSYS product line. Designed specifically for training, ANSYS/ED offers students, professors and professionals a low-cost, problem size-limited alternative version of ANSYS/Multiphysics. The software provides access to design analysis capabilities for a low fee. Learning all dimensions of the ANSYS product line, including preprocessing, solution and post-processing, before purchasing a full license of ANSYS/Multiphysics, ensures a maximum return on investment.
ANSYS/PrepPost
The idea behind software that contains only the preand post-processors of ANSYS product line technology is to provide cost savings to ANSYS users. Available as an add-on feature to other ANSYS product line members or as an independent module,ANSYS/PrepPost software allows users to purchase ANSYS technology at a cost-effective price, since solvers are not included. Essentially,ANSYS/PrepPost is used for model preparation, application of loads, meshing, results analysis and viewing. With a majority of analysts time spent on the pre- and post-processing of a model, ANSYS/PrepPost allows companies to make these two stages more efficient. In addition, the AMG solver works well with models typically difficult for other types of iterative solvers. The DDS is a scalable solver designed for use in a distributed-memory environment or a combination of both distributed- and shared-memory environments. It is intended for large static or full transient analyses with symmetric matrices that do not involve pre-stress, inertia relief, coupling or constraint equations. DDS divides a model into multiple domains, that is, contiguous groupings of finite elements drawn from the complete model. Unlike other schemes, which typically have a single domain associated with each CPU, DDS typically has multiple domains associated with each CPU. Because of excellent serial solvers available within ANSYS, DDS typically requires six or more processors in order to outperform other solvers. This solver is expected to scale to tens of processors, even over a network. DDS should also be utilized in cases where no single computer system has adequate memory to solve a large model. Parallel Performance for ANSYS offers engineers the benefit of decreased time to completion, as well as the option of using either multiprocessing servers or a cluster of workstations networked together. As the quest for high fidelity increases model size, complexity and more nonlinear behavior, Parallel Performance for ANSYS, with its AMG and DDS solvers, will lead the way in bringing engineering simulation closest to reality!
ANSYS/LS-DYNA PrepPost
Created to cost-effectively assist ANSYS/LS-DYNA users with pre- and post-processing involved in analysis work, ANSYS/LS-DYNA PrepPost allows viewing of numerous results after simulation. In addition to nodal and element outputs, users may review descriptions of resultant forces and sliding energy.
