batteries need a combination of acid and distilled water, this mixture called electrolyte. You can purchase that mixed or do it yourself. Never fill up a battery with acid only and always put acid into the water that water into acid. You have to do it carefully, sulfuric acid is a dangerous material. When you fill it up, make sure you follow instructions related to proper level and gravity of acid. Do not overfill it and after fillup, leave it open and do not use it immediately. After 2 hrs, you can start the charging process with a special charger that does not kill your battery (does it slow with proper ampers) gases will have to evaporate before final close of the battery. check levels again and FILL UP MISSING liquid ONLY with distilled water and not acid or the mixture of them. Only with d. water. Good luck.
