QR Code Font Readme Version 5 Please turn WordWrap on to read this file IMPORTANT Until registered with the

correct serial number the product will behave as a Tes tware version, which will produce randomly scrambled barcodes. Please note that shortcuts to the sample programs are placed in the All Programs /dLSoft folder on the start menu. A multi-user license version is required to embed the fonts (eg. in Acrobat or o r Web pages). Running Setup The setup system places the Help files and programming tools into a directory of your choice. It installs only one default font; if you require alternative font s you must install these using the Fonts item of the Windows Control Panel. The distribution include sample VB6 and C/C++ programs (and their source code) i llustrating the use of the Aztec font. These programs are installed in the subdi rectories VB6 and VC6 respectively. Samples illustrating the use of the fonts in Access are installed in the access subdirectory. A sample illustrating the use of a fully-managed-code component for use with Vis ual Studio .NET 2005 or later is placed in the qrcnet directory. This sample req uires the presence of the .NET runtime (version 2.0) which may be obtained from the Microsoft web site. The managed-code component is QRCNET.DLL. 32 bit installation The files DQRDF.DLL and DQRDFU.DLL are placed in the Windows System32 directory on a 32 bit machine, or into the SysWOW64 directory when performing a 32 bit ins tallation on a 64 bit machine. The file QROCX.OCX is installed and registered in the installation directory. The OCX is independent of the DLL. For DLL use the file DQRDF.DLL or DQRDFU.DLL may be copied to the subdirectory c ontaining the application you are developing. This file must be on the path of a ny executable file which uses it or a "file not found" message will be produced. 64 bit installation The files DQRDF64.DLL and DQRDF64U.DLL are placed in the Windows System32 direct ory. The file QROCX.OCX is installed and registered in the installation director y. The OCX is independent of the DLL. During Setup you are presented with a dialog asking for your product serial numb er. If you do not have a serial number you enter any number. Your kit will then behave as a testware kit. If you subsequently purchase a licence for the product you can run Setup again to make the product fully operational. Note The DataMatrix/Aztec/QR fonts are designed for high accuracy printing. At small sizes they may not look good on screen because of round-off to the nearest pixel ! The AutoSize property of the Active X control should be set to FALSE in systems where the control source is bound to a field (such as in MS Access); in such sys tems the output is draw in a metafile, and where several control images are crea

ted all are resized to the size of the last one created. This may result in some barcodes being clipped. Font installation The Barcode fonts are located in a subdirectory of the installation directory na med fonts. (The same fonts are used for Aztec, DataMatrix and QR Code symbols) O nly the wide TrueType font is installed into Windows by the Setup system. If oth er fonts are required these must be installed using the Windows Control Panel. Windows XP/2003/Vista/wIN 7 From the Fonts window menu bar choose "Install New Font". The Add fonts dialog appears. Use the Drives and directory list boxes to select the temporary directory contai ning your fonts. Ensure that the "Copy Fonts to Fonts folder" check box is checked.
