This chart shows that 18 years and older has the lowest percent of child abuse and

Neglect cases in 1990. The age group 2 to 5 has the highest with 23.6%. It seems like as the

child gets older the number of cases goes down. The age group 6 to 9 years old has 21.6% and

the age group 10 to 13 year olds has 18.5%. The age group 14 to 17 has 14.1% then the age

group 1and younger has one of the lowest with 13.3%.

When I look at the chart I see that as the years go up the numbers increase. Then each of

the four years the range is the same it starts low then it rises then it goes back down. To me that

seems like a good thing cause as the children gets older the cases drop lower. To me that show

that the children are learning and are being thought some manners. Cause I do believe in

spanking a child while they are young that way they will respect you as they get older.

This chart sadly shows that females have more Child Abuse and Neglect Cases then

males. In 1990 it started 48.9% for the females then in 2000, 2005, and 2006 they balanced out

at 52%. The males did almost the same they just started off a little bit lower with 43%. In the

other three years shown in the chart they all stayed around the same. In 2000, 2005, and 2006

the males abuse and neglect cases were around 51%.

To me when I look at the chart I just say to my self that it is sad that there are more

people abusing females then men. If it wasn’t for a woman we would not be her, so I don’t

understand why people would want to abuse them and neglect them. It is good that the ratings

have not moved lately, but it will be better is they would go down. If they just dropped one or

two percent it would good, but it would be even better, if they would drop below the males.

This chart shows the number of total victims in 1990, 2000, 2005 and 2006. As you can

see 1990 was the lowest. But in 2000, 2005, and 2006 they were around the same. Even thought

they ended up staying around the same it would be even better is they were to drop down a little.

It probably would take a wile but it has to start some ware. In the end it would be nice to be back

to ware it was in 1990.

To me it seems like every child abuse started off lower in the 90’s then the 00’s but they

tend to stay the same when the get up their. It would be nice to try and bring them down, but if

that’s what it takes to make a stable and understanding child I am all for it. Just so then crime

rate is down because those are the ones doing the crimes the young.

I no it a little hard to read but that’s how the chart came out when I put the information in.

As u can see everything is really low. The highest state in abuse and neglect is California. It has

the highest population under 18 years old. They also have the highest population of the four

states. So they are more likely to have the most cases of abuse and neglect.

In the chart the only states that really show up is New York and California. The reasons they

show up is because they are the two largest states out of the four. That way they have a bigger

chance of abuse and neglect out of the others.

Problem Definition Paper 6

Summary and Conclusion

As you can see all of the graphs above had to do with Child Abuse and Neglect Cases. All of

the graphs almost showed the same thing, they all started out low then picked up in the middle

then dropped off at the end. Which was good because it showed that there were fewer cases.

That showed that something was done right when they were young. When a child reaches a

certain age that’s when all the spanking should stop.

One of the cases that should increase the most is the male and female abuse and neglect cases.

There should be no reason why females should be abuse and neglected more then the males

hopefully it will change. The total number of victims should come down also just as they were

in 05. They went up a thousand in 06 we should work a little harder to bring them back down.
