Experience the greatest expedition ever commissioned by a President of the United States through the eyes of its most unique member, York. York grew to manhood enslaved to William Clark. But, when they embarked on President Jeffersons Historic Mission of discovery, he exchanged his chains for a rifle and respect that only hard work can earn when your life is on the line every day. What happens to a man who has learned that he is much more than a slave when he returns to a "civilization that sees him as nothing more? This is a story of triumph, tragedy, heroism, and hardship. It is one of our nation's greatest moments set against the backdrop of our nation's darkest days, a powerful story that speaks to the indomitable nature of the human spirit.
