Myeong Jins Family Meets Their Goal of Reducing Electricity

Did you ever know how saving electricity is crucial to the environment? Our world now is in the developing stage striving to gain more and more of the most popular form of energy, electricity. Most of our energy, unfortunately, comes from the limited source, coal. Burning coal sends off massive amounts of greenhouse gasses known as Carbon Dioxide, and that is the cause of our massive global warming. Global warming affects our environment by creating floods, melting down the ice from both poles raising the sea level all around the Earth, raising water temperatures making the coral reefs bland and massive changes in weather. That is what Myeong Jins family strives to prevent. Here is what Myeong Jin Choi says in his interview, Why I do this is simply because I want to have a good reply when somebody asks me in the future, what where you doing in the past to prevent all this Global Warming? What contribution did you make to sustain our Earth. In the last eight months (since August), Myeong Jins family has applied many changes to their habits and activities such as turning off the lights after using a room, using the air-conditioner twice a week and setting the air conditioner to a certain temperature, shutting off all electronic devices at night, and turning the plug

connecter off when not charging my electronic devices. Electronic devices use their reserved battery even when they are in sleep mode, so it is important to shut it off when it is not being used. Plug connecters eat up electricity if you dont switch it off so it is important to switch it off when you are not charging any devices. Myeong Jins Family had some difficulties four months after he set his challenge, when he moved from a small apartment in Riana Green Condominium into a double-story apartment in Ampang Putra Condominium. Luckily, Myeong Jins Family manages to get used to his new house fast. He becomes aware that since he is in a double story house, he has to be extra careful about turning off the lights of rooms in each floor before going to another floor. Will Myeong Jin be able to endure his challenge and sustain the rate of decreasing his KWH usage per month?

How to find the equation: As you can see in the Electricity Usage Graph, there are two points on the graph, which are the data for October, which is 3 months since August and February, which is 7 month since August. For October, the number of months since August ( ) is 2 and the KWH usage () is 400 KWH so in ordered pairs, it would be (2, 400). For February, the number of months since August ( ) is 7 and the KWH usage () is 369 KWH so in ordered pairs, it would be (7, 369). We can find the slope with the two ordered pairs, (2, 400) and (7, 369), we calculated, by subtracting the two values (2 and 7) and the two values (400 and 369); after that, we will have to make a fraction by putting as the numerator and as the denominator. !!! !!" = ! which is the slope. !""!!!"
