Job Description of Shift Manager

Areas of Responsibility
1 Shift Management Activities Overall responsibility of coherent running of the shift at the Lotte PTA Plant as per LPPTA SOPs; Ensure safe efficient operation of Utilities Plant to ensure meeting or exceeding the production and efficiency targets; Assist in start-up, shut-down & normal operations; Maintaining all logs as per SOPs; Shift coordination & time sheet planning; Safe and efficient operation and emergency handlings of Utilities Plant; Submitting Shift Reports to Senior Mngt; Shift handing over/take over as per SOPs; Close co-ordination & liaising with other depts.; Perform emergency/corrective procedures as per guidelines if required; Plan and execute overhaul/start-up/shutdown activities under guidance of Plant Manager within target period; Undertake routine site inspection as per schedule; Implement ISO 9001:2008 quality procedures; Monitor and maintain quality of various effluent streams; Act as key contact for handling site emergencies; Close co-ordination with Senior Shift Manager, Plant Manager, Engineering & Technical; IN ORDER TO ensure efficient, continuous & well maintained Plant operations as per LPPTA & RCMS protocols and site operating procedures guidelines.

Measurememnt Criteria
Meeting Utilities Plant Performance Indices as per defined targets; Attaining efficiency targets of utilities like raw water, power, gas, diesel etc. Minimum down time; Daily & fortnightly reports; No mishandling of emergencies; Adherence to routine monitoring system; Shift operations as per budget; Plant availability target as per ABR; Achieve 100% NEQS compliance.

Management & Development of Shift Team Developing & sustaining a knowledgeable & motivated Shift Team; Leading & conducting technical & cross training & skill enhancement initiatives; Manage IR issues & performance management of the shift team members; Develop team members to their full potential as per training regimen; Train and validate a team of technically competent Plant/DCS operators.

100% technical training modules conducted on time as per TNA; Training & validation of operating staff as per target.

IN ORDER TO have technically proficient & motivated Utilities Plant team capable of delivering the plant objectives in terms of HSE, Safe Operating Philosophy, Cost and Plant reliability. HSE Compliance Strict compliance to industry HSE standards & LPPTA's SHE criteria, legislative 100% compliance to Industry HSE requirements, and "permit to work systems" (including hot jobs) to ensure Plant standards & LPPTA's SHE criteria; safety standards are met during the shift. Zero reportable injuries. IN ORDER TO ensure strict adherence to the SHE requirements.
