Combined effect of triglycerides and cholesterol on the human body

Cholesterol is a waxy protein that is found in all living things but it is very important for the survival of the humans and other animals. This is because it serves as an important component in maintaining the balance in the human body in several aspects like fluidity and membrane permeability. The cholesterol is actually of 2 major types. They are the good cholesterol or HDL and the bad cholesterol or LDL. The HDL or high density lipoprotein helps to remove the excess cholesterol level in the body. The LDL or low density lipoprotein harms the body by blocking the blood stream and arteries. These are some of the tips that can be taken to lower the cholesterol and triglyceride levels in the body: 1. Many nuts like the almonds, pecans and walnuts have high amounts of saturated fat which helps to the lower cholesterol level. New studies have revealed that eating nuts and especially the almonds with the skins can be very effective for those who have very high cholesterol. Reduce the fat that comes from the animal proteins. 2. Oats and Barley have a fiber known as Beta Glucan. This fiber is the key to reducing cholesterol. If you want to further reduce the cholesterol consume from two to four cups of dry oats or barley daily. These two foods are useful in helping those with high cholesterol. They actually increase the HDL content within the body and reduce the LDL content. 3. Apples, citrus fruit, berries, carrots, apricots, cabbage and sweet potatoes are some of the fruite that are very high in fiber and pectin. Eating at least five servings of such items a day will improve the fitness of your heart. A lot of studies show that fresh fruits and vegetables are excellent for maintaining the overall health of the body. They also help us in preventing many serious illnesses. 4. Flaxseeds contain alpha linolenic acid which is a polyunsaturated fat. This has proven to reduce cholesterol by providing the required fiber content. 5. Another product is the Olive Oil which has been effective in lowering blood cholesterol. Additionally virgin olive oil offers the best results. Olive oil can be used in your cooking as an alternative to animal fat. This can help lower you to lower cholesterol and improve overall health. 6. Salmon contains omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids which prevents the blood from clotting which in turn lowers blood cholesterol.

These are just some of the tips that can be followed to reduce the cholesterol level in our body. There are several other methods like physical exercises, aerobic activities and many more which will help you lower the triglycerides and the cholesterol levels in the human body.
