Here is the test to find whether your mission on earth is finished. If you're alive, it isn't.
~Richard Bach
Across cultures and continents and sometimes even as children, most peo-
ple ask themselves four great questions during some portion of their lives.
Where did we come from (origins)? Why are we here (meaning)? What
determines right and wrong (morality)? & Where do we end up (destiny)?
The search for the answers to those questions is not relegated to a Philoso-
phy 101 class. Our beliefs, our core convictions regarding the answers to
these questions, typically shape our motives, behavior and responses
throughout our lives. For many of us, the activities of life in general distract us from resolving
these questions until were up against them. I can hear the readers now, Wow Paul, whats with
the heavy deep thoughts this month? Ill tell you.
I have a friend that just recently announced that he has been diagnosed with cancer and has been given approximately as
long as 6 months to live. At first, the range of emotions runs from heartache, anger, sadness, and injustice. I understand
as we grow older, we all face the great equalizer. However, the apparent unfairness of his pronouncement rekindled
within me an internal question, What is it that is most valued by every human being? Regardless of culture, economic
circumstances, where you are from, what you look like or who your family is. Irrespective of the time in history that
mankind finds himself in, the answer is always the same. The most important and valuable thing in life is our relation-
ships. I gained great insight from my friend to the answer, as I noticed something remarkable. Im watching him invest
in deepening and strengthening his relationships. My friend has his priorities in order, as he states, You never hear
people on their deathbed saying, I wish I had spent more time at the office! No, its our associations with others that
reigns supreme. The relationships we establish with God, family, friends, colleagues, community, clients,
vendors and even our pets, thats whats important. The trust and security that secure relationships bring is
unfathomable.
The dignity with which my friend is facing the end of his life on this earth is nothing less than inspiring. He
is steadfast on spending time with loved ones, encouraging them and comforting their fears and grief. Yes,
he is comforting them. We dont know how much time we have. So take some time today to call a friend
(dont text) or family member and let them know how important their relationship is to you.

Fighting Counterfeits
In an effort to curb counterfeiting, the U.S. Government continues to enhance
security of its currency. The latest edition is the redesigned of the $100 note. Two
new security features have been added that includes the new 3-D Security Ribbon
and the Bell in the Ink Well. It also includes several effective features used in other
U.S. denominations such as watermarks and security threads. Here are some of the
highlights to look for:
1. Portrait Watermark - hold the bill up to a light source and look for a faint
image of Ben Franklin in the blank space to the right of the portrait.
2. Security Thread - Towards the left of the portrait, theres a security thread
imprinted with the letters USA and 100 in an alternating pattern. The thread
glows pink under ultraviolet light.
3. Color Shifting 100 & Bell in the Inkwell - Tilt the note to see the numeral
100 in the lower right corner and the bell in the inkwell color shifts from copper
to green.
4. Raised Printing - move your finger over the left side of Ben Franklins
coat and it feels rough to the touch.
5. Gold 100 - look for a large gold numeral 100 on the back of the note. Also helps those with visual impairments.
6. Microprinting - Look carefully and see small printed words on Ben Franklins collar
Remember, bank tellers dont study numerous fake bills to detect forgeries. They spend all their time handling real notes
crossing their desk and are so familiar with them, that they can detect the fake. www.newmoney.gov

Choose Your Own Healthcare All Savers Adventure By Brad Smither
- Do you want to have lower copayments or a lower deductible?
- Would you like a lower medical credit for more pharmacy coverage?
No problem, its your choice. With United Healthcares All Savers program you get to keep your
brokers recommended plan or choose any other plan within its group and it wont affect a single
dime of the premium. Hows this possible you ask? Read on!
Employers and employees realize that every health insurance company offers multiple insurance
plans to choose from. With the soon to be realized implementation of the Affordable Healthcare
Act (Obamacare), choosing the appropriate plan design options can be an even more daunting task.
Thankfully, United Healthcare has come up with an innovative pro-active method for helping everyone choose the best
plans, without affecting premiums. With their All Savers program, each insured member gets a medical credit to
help pay for health care. It can help cover many eligible health care costs, from office visits to the ER. The medical
credit is up-front coverage, so it applies before the deductible (we like to call it pre-ductible). Whether its for an ear
ache, stitches or a broken bone, you cover the copayments and the medical credit can help pay for the rest. For most
small-business employees the All Savers medical credit could be the only coverage they use in a
year!*
The trend in the costs of healthcare coverage continue to rise annually at a double digit pace.
Couple that with the fact that although many agencies and agents are on the frontlines of
deciphering Obamacare, the process is ever evolving. Donovan Insurance Solutions will
continue to educate our clients as promptly as possible so that everyone can balance their budgets.

Very funny, Scotty. Now beam down my clothes. Unknown
A grandfather was trying to impress upon his grand children that not everything is as it appears. He
explained that when he was a young boy he lived on a farm and sold produce from a roadside stand. They
always bought their chickens from Willy Scott. One day when they were working at the vegetable stand
Willy delivered chickens to our house in a crate and left them on our doorstep. When we returned home that
evening we discovered the chickens had escaped and were running all around the yard. Each of us began
chasing the chickens putting them back in the crate. Dad was so upset that he decided to call Willy to
express his unhappiness with the situation. He told Willy how he had to round up all the chickens from all
over the neighborhood and we were only able to find eleven. Eleven chickens aint bad, said Willy,
considering I only delivered six! How much could be accomplished if we had no idea what the limits
were?

A recent article in P&C360 by Phil Gusman reported that the following types of businesses were
surveyed as to what they thought was the number one identified business risk for 2013. The survey
included the following types of business: Aviation, Chemicals, Conglomerate, Consumer Goods
Manufacturing, Construction, Hotels and Hospitality, Lumber, Furniture, Paper and Packaging,
Machinery and Equipment Manufacturers, Metal Milling and Manufacturing, Transportation,
Professional and Personal Services, Real Estate, & Technology. The consensus throughout all these industries is that
economic slowdown and recovery was the greatest business threat. Businesses must embrace the fact that we now live in a
global economy. He states, What happens on the other side of the world can have a direct impact on every company
whether it has international operations or not. Most people understand that a disaster can have a direct domino effect on
business. For instance, everyone in the U.S. automotive industry felt the direct impact of the earthquake and tsunami that
hit Japan in March 2011. In addition, during the financial crisis, the drop in real estate values, record high foreclosure rates
and default rates on loans in the U.S. triggered a worldwide credit crisis that affected businesses everywhere, making it

Florida Leads the U.S. in Traffic Tickets
According to a recent study, speeding drivers are more likely to get ticketed in
the Sunshine State than in any other state. Data from the FL Highway
Department and the FL Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles Department, FL
leads the nation in traffic violations. In 2011, Florida police handed out 17,995
non-criminal traffic citations for speeding above the posted limit, and an
additional 6,132 citations for driving too fast for road conditions. The study also
named the city of Waldo, in Alachua County, Florida, as one of the worst U.S.
cities for speed traps. Everyone strives to be number one at something, but in
this instance, I prefer the back of the pack.
Trying to settle a problem with oratory is like attempting to unsnarl a traffic jam by blowing horns.

harder for them to obtain loans and expand. That can be a scary position for any
size business. It can impact profit margins, competition and quality of goods and
services. Identifying natural risks has not changed much in the past few decades.
However, political, technological and other man-made risks continue to challenge
insurance professionals and businesses alike. Keeping up with the latest
exposures and threats takes constant effort. As insurance coverage continues to
evolve, it is vital to communicate with your broker. Only then will they be able to
assess your current tolerance of risk.
