ELT/555

FAMILY OF SELF-PROTECTION JAMMing pods

The ELT/555 family of jamming pods is designed to provide self-protection for fighter aircraft from ground-based and airborne missile systems. The threat likely to be encountered by tactical combat aircraft over the target area also comprises radar-controlled Anti-Aircraft Artillery (AAA), Surface-to-Air-Missiles (SAM), Air-to-Air-Missiles (AAM), besides Early Warning and Search radars.

system performance
The systems can operate in a Stand-Alone Mode or in Threat Designated Mode Stand-alone mode capability: Emitter search and acquisition using a Wide-Open Receiver Emitter identification on the basis of library programmed modes Emitter jamming on the basis of library programmed data. Emitter designation by RWR/ESM Emitter acquisition on the basis of RWR/ESM designated parameters Emitter jamming on the basis of library programmed data.

Threat designated mode capability:

system characteristics
The ELT/555 family features: Automatic deception of pulse and CW coherent and non coherent radars (lock-on, TWS, Search); effectiveness even in the presence of advanced ECCM techniques Completely self-sufficient as regards cooling and primary power and will therefore make no demands whatsoever on the parent aircrafts power supply Multi-threat effectiveness against staggered and jittered PRI emitters, as well as against frequency diversity / frequency agility threats Flight-line programmability of both warning and Jamming parameters Underwing installability and full compatibility with other avionics onboard a wide range of platforms.

example of system composition

The system consists of: Front Antenna Rear Antenna Jamming Source Unit (JSU) Transmitter Unit (TU).
