FRESH AND NEW

By Pastor Bob Wyand Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland. (Isaiah 43:1819) Its amazing how what is new is a manner of perspective. What my family has been experiencing as new, the people of Warner would say is old: the grocery store, routes, local news, church life, weather patterns, etc. What the church community is discovering in this 52 year-old me is also new: a robe-less, guitar playing, Christ-loving, rebel (The last word is what Sue calls me). Since God has orchestrated this new relationship of pastor and people, lets give Him thanks for the new things He is doing in our lives. In the same manner, we thank the church family for their love expressed in transforming an old house into a new home for our family. The month of May is going to be an exciting month, starting with an Installation Service on May 5th at 3pm where pastor and people covenant and celebrate together. The Warner community and area churches are invited. UCW will then have three special gathering to discover where God is leading us: On Thursday, May 9th @ 6pm we will have a Building Walk-Through of the church and Parish House. The purpose is to do some prayerful brainstorming how God might be leading us to use the property we have been given. Were going to catalogue all insights and suggestions. While we will not be able to use every idea, each idea will give us NEW perspective and understanding. On Thursday, May 16th @ 6:30pm we invite all parents, and those caring for children, to a Faith Formation Discovery Meeting. The purpose is to begin exploring how to best support parents in raising their children in a Christian home. There will be another discussion at a latter date about Faith formation for adults, because we all need opportunities to learn and grow in our relationship with God. On Sunday, May 19th following worship at about 11:30am we will have a Quarterly Communication Meeting which will explore NEW Perspectives on how to meet the challenges of organization and meeting Gods purpose for our church. Our goal is not to make decisions but to discover new areas of consensus, so together we might fulfill the plans God has for us. Please pray about coming with openness to how God might make all things fresh and new in us, the United Church of Warner.

You are cordially invited to the
