HARVEST BAPTIST CHURCH PRAYER DIARY SUNDAY MORNING SERVICE TIMES 9:00 & 10:45A.M.

MONDAYEVANGELISTIC PRAYER Chronological Bible Reading: 1 Kings 7-9; Luke 19:25-48 Monday, April 29 Mal. 3:2 But who may abide the day of his coming? and who shall stand when he appeareth? for he is like a refiners fire, and like fullers soap: Merciful Father, Mighty Judge: Christs first coming, without pomp, ceremony, or external show of power, was nevertheless a time of proving for men. Herod and all Jerusalem were stirred, but not to worship. Those who thought they were waiting for you rejected you. Your life on earth was a winnowing fan blowing away the chaff, chaff of religious profession absent heart possession. No counterfeits survived that process. What will your Second Coming be? What sinner will be able to endure it? Isa. 11:4 But with righteousness shall he judge the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth: and he shall smite the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked. The study of prophecy is so revealing! Lord, your death shook the earth and darkened the heavens. What will be the dreadful splendor of that day in which, as living Lord, you summon the quick and the dead before you? It will be greater than any earthquake or tsunami, with more force than nature can imagine. O that the terrors of the Lord would persuade _________ and _________ to forsake their sins and kiss the Son lest he be angry! Though a Lamb, you are the Lion of the tribe of Judah. Though you do not break the crushed reed, yet you will break in pieces those who are hard of heart toward your Spirit. No one will successfully hide from the sweeping hail of your indignation. Your beloved, blood-bought people will appear with you with joy. Even now we look for you with hope and not with fear. Even so, come, Lord Jesus. But use me to save all that you can before you come! O for grace to get the lost into church and the gospel into the lost. For Jesus sake I ask it. Amen. A DAILY PATTERN FOR PRAYER & BIBLE READING Chronological Bible Reading: 1 Kings 16-18; Luke 21 Thursday, May 2 devil. Matt. 4:1 Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the TUESDAYFOCUS ON CHRISTS LIFE Chronological Bible Reading: 1 Kings 10-12; Luke 20:1-23 Tuesday, April 30 John 21:12 Jesus saith unto them, Come and dine. And none of the disciples durst ask him, Who art thou? knowing that it was the Lord. Magnificent Lord Jesus: I pray for __________ and __________, that you would invite them to a nearness to yourself. Help me bring them to churchto the same table, the same meal, and even sitting side by side to lean on the Saviors bosom. S of S. 2:4 He brought me to the banqueting house, and his banner over me was love. Give me union with Christ even today, because the only food I can feast on is Jesus. Reason cannot fathom how I can spiritually feed on Christ, but faith can. John 6:56 He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him. Give me greater fellowship with the saints, because all believers have one spiritual appetite. If we cannot all feel alike, at least we can all feed alike this Sunday at your house! Give us bread from heaven through your word. As I get nearer to Christ, I find myself linked more and more in the Spirit to all those who are like him. If we were more near to Jesus, like spokes to the hub, we would be more unified together. This is my source of strength. To look to Christ is to live, but for strength to serve I must come and dine. Dine at the table of passionate preaching. Dine at the table of dynamic discipleship. I labor under unnecessary weakness because I have not taken my nutrition. I do not need to restrict my spiritual diet as I start this summer. On the contrary, I need to get fat on the marrow of the gospel and the word of God, so then I can gain strength and urge every ounce of energy to fulfill its full mission in the Masters service. Make it so for Jesus sake. Amen. FRIDAY CORPORATE PRAYER MINISTRY Chronological Bible Reading: 1 Kings 19-22; Luke 22:1-35 Friday, May 3 Eph. 3:21 Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen. Heavenly Bridegroom of the Church: Having already prayed in Eph 3, the apostle Paul now adores you. That adoration is not so much the act of praise, as the simple recognition praise is dueand far more of it than we can render. We hardly know how to define adoration. Our praises are a river flowing within its banks, running toward a destination. But adoration is the same river overflowing its banks, flooding the soul, and covering our entire church with deep watersand these not so much moving and stirring as standing still in repose, mirroring the glory shining down on them. Adoration is part of the mission. It is not seeking your divine presence, so much as it is being conscious of your presence to an extreme degree, and therefore full of awe and peace at the same time. Like the Sea of Galilee when it felt the sacred touch of the Masters feet. Adoration is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height of praise. Adoration is like the starry heavens, always declaring the glory of God. It is the eloquent silence of a soul that is too full for words. It is for us to prostrate ourselves in the dust in humility, and yet soar aloft in sublime meditation. It is to sink into nothing, and yet be filled with all the fullness of God. It is to lose ourselves in your mission. We should set-aside far more time for adoration. It is the highest spiritual nourishment to have the Spirit carry us right out of ourselves, lifting us above the small stuff and petty issues surrounding us, until we are only conscious of Gods mission and his glory. O that you would give us that today! Amen. WEDNESDAYREVIVAL PRAYING Chronological Bible Reading: 1 Kings 13-15; Luke 20:24-47 Wednesday, May 1 Col. 1:19 For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell; Heavenly Father: By abiding in Christ and having his words abide in me, I get a glorious liberty and prevailing power in prayer for revival. Why? First, because of the fullness in Christ. Whatever I need I can ask and receive, because it is already found in you. Do I seek the assistance of an ungrieved Holy Ghost? I can go to the Lords anointing. Do I need to perfect my holiness? I can look to the Lords example. Do I want to sense the pardon of sin after confession so my fellowship is restored? I plead your blood. Do I need my current sinful state to be put to death? I look to your cross. Do I need my old nature to be buried to the world? I can go to your tomb and meditate. Do I want to feel the fullness of the heavenly life? I behold your resurrection. I want to rise above the world and all its allure. So then, I mark your ascension. I right now need to think on heavenly thingson revivalso I remember that you sit on the right hand of God, and Eph. 2:6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: I can see clearly now how the branch gets all it wants of what it needs while it abides in the stem. Do I want more than the stem can give? If I do I shouldnt, because the only life I should live is what I get by sucking life out of the vine. This is my request then, Lord. Deny me any wish that wanders outside your will. It pleased the Father that all fullness should dwell in you. What pleases the Father pleases me as well. This is what gives me contentment, because I am glad to draw everything from Jesus. Give me grace to so see my wants, desires and needs today in light of my attachment to the vine, for I so ask in Jesus name. SATURDAYIN THE PSALMS Chronological Bible Reading: 2 Kings 1-3; Luke 22:36-71 Saturday, May 4 Psa. 106:1 Praise ye the LORD. O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever. Merciful Lord and Master: This Psalm is an envelope Psalm, because it begins and ends the same way: hallelujahPraise ye the LORD. The space between the two expressions is filled with the sad details of Israels sin and the longsuffering patience of God. I would do well to bless the Lord at the beginning and at the end, when my meditation is on my sin and then on the grace of God. Your goodness is the first attribute that moves me to praise you, and that praise is an expression of my gratitude. Your goodness to sinners is seen in your mercy, so that is a main melody in my song. Since I continue to be sinful, it is a great blessing you continue to be merciful. You are constant and faithful in your grace. Psa. 106:9 He rebuked the Red sea also, and it was dried up: so he led them through the depths, as through the wilderness. Here is where the Psalmist starts a detailed confession. Israel was not clean out of Egypt before she began to doubt your power to deliver, and question your faithfulness to the promise. The sea was called Red, but it was their sins that were really scarlet. If it was a sea of weeds or reeds, the weeds of the heart are far more entangling then the ones in the path of these people. The sea heard your voice and obeyed, but how many rebukes of God are lost on me. I have passed through many trials and afflictions, but always under divine direction. I have been led safely through deep valleys and come out on the other side. Thank you for your mercy even in the midst of my sin. Psa. 106:4 Remember me, O LORD, O visit me with thy salvation;

I WALK in danger all the way. The thought shall never leave me
That Satan, who has marked his prey, is plotting to deceive me. This foe with hidden snares may seize me unawares If eer I fail to watch and pray. I walk in danger all the way. I pass through trials all the way, with sin and ills contending; In patience I must bear each day the cross of Gods own sending. Oft in adversity I know not where to flee; When storms of woe my soul dismay, I pass through trials all the way. I walk with angels all the way, they shield me and befriend me; All Satans power is held at bay when heavenly hosts attend me; They are my sure defense, all fear and sorrow, hence! Unharmed by foes, do what they may, I walk with angels all the way. I walk with Jesus all the way, His guidance never fails me; Within His wounds I find a stay when Satans power assails me; And by His footsteps led, my path I safely tread. In spite of ills that threaten may, I walk with Jesus all the way. Hans A. Brorson, 1734

TIMEWORSHIP Mark 1:35 And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed.

GIVE GOD THE FIRST PART OF EVERY DAY. The first commitment is to a daily quiet time with God. Our weekly Prayer Diary provides a template for daily devotions. 2) TITHEWORK 1 Cor 16:2 Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come. GIVE GOD THE FIRST DIME OF EVERY DOLLARno questions asked. Ten percent is a miniscule amount in our affluent society, but it must come off the top in order to show that God is our priority. We want the blessing of the firstfruits (first devotion, first dime and first day) to flow out to the rest of our resources. 3) TEAMWORD Heb 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. GIVE GOD THE FIRST DAY OF EVERY WEEK. You should fellowship with a group of believers around the word of God every Sunday in our church.

Baptists tend to ridicule liturgical churches that use "prepared prayers" because they lack spontaneity. But for many Baptists, their prayers are so predictable they are no more spontaneous than written-out prayers. The result is we end up praying the same things over and over. This daily Prayer Diary will prompt you on a wide range of prayer requests you might not normally think of, while forcing you to articulate a deeper devotion to God. We have included a daily Bible reading schedule. This plan will take you through the Bible chronologically in a year. Do not read ahead and do not try to catch up. Use each day as it comes. Then you can know that on any given day, dozens of other people are lifting their hearts in the same mind to God. Pray what is written, but use what is prayed as a springboard for your own relationship with God. You learn to pray by praying. Alan

Secret prayer is the secret of prayer, the soul of prayer, the seal of prayer, the strength of prayer. If you do not pray alone you do not pray at all. Our Lord Jesus Christ would go nowhere till He had prayed. He would attempt nothing till He had prayed. Oh, says one, I live in the spirit of prayer, and therefore I do not need times and seasons for prayer. And do you think that Christ did not live in the spirit of prayer? Yet He had to have his special time and place to pray. Do not fall under the injurious notion that because your spirit cries to God in prayer all day long, therefore there must not be some season for more immediately coming into Gods presence. If you imagine this, I am afraid that it will prove a snare to your feet. The Lord Jesus Christ, who knew better than you do that the main thing is the spirit of prayer rather than the act of prayer, yet Himself retired into desert places to maintain the act and exercise of prayer. Be spiritual. Be baptized into the spirit of prayer. But do not be deceived by the enemy, who can steal a spirit away while we dream that we only spiritualize it. We had better preserve the very bones of prayerthe posture, the time, placerather than let it all ooze away into an impalpable mental condition. God keep us prayerful. He will do so if He makes us like His dear Son. Charles H. Spurgeon, 1834-92
