MUHAMAD FAEZ BIN DIN 124698 COURSEWORK 2

Based on the coursework for methodology I have observed an English lesson with year 4. They are from class 4 arif. Based on their level of proficiency I can say that they are a very good student. This is because when their teacher is teaching, they listen to him and understand everything that has been taught. I can conclude that the reason why the student understand everything that have been taught because they come from urban area. Many of them come from a family that have a good background education. From the observation, the teacher are using weather theme. The teacher tries to teach the student about weather in English. So, the focus of learning in that day is about weather. The name of this activity is Come Rain or Shine. Based on my observation it is more focused on language skills. By the lesson, students will be able to read with correct pronunciation. The teaching material that has been used by the teacher is by using mahjong Paper, hand out, and Slides Show. By using those materials students will focus and enjoy the lesson that has been used by the teacher. Besides, children actually love everything that involve in teaching aids. This is because they will be able to express their feeling even though in the learning session. The activity that has been conducts by the teacher also is followed by procedures. The first step is Students are provided with a piece of paper then the teacher will asks Students to write the short sentences that been read by the

teacher. After students finish, they need to hand the paper for marking purpose. For the second stage are teacher pastes the reading passage on the board and reads the reading passage and the students are asked to listening to teachers reading. Then teacher analyses and discusses the sentence patterns together with the students. For the stage 3 is students are provided with the hand out then are asked to read the passage as a whole class. After that Students are selected randomly and

are asked to read certain sentences or paragraph. At stage, 4 Students are shown with a slide that containing a question then a student is selected randomly to answer the question. After that, the answer is discussed together among the teacher and students. For stage 5 Students are provided with a worksheet. After that, Students answer the questions independently. If students needed help, teacher will help them. Then, Students hand in the worksheet, once they are done. This is for marking purpose. Lastly, at stage 6 Students will be asked to open their exercise book then Teacher writes four comprehension questions on the board and asks the students to copy them. The support material that has been use is textbook. Teachers need to well prepare to teach their students. The teacher also trying to related the activity with textbook. Lastly, as a teacher we need to make sure that it is important to make sure that students focus in learning session. So, it is up to us whether to make sure the class is fun or not.
