Organizational Improvement and Redesign Built family health centers and one free clinic in four underserved Bronx communities, completing 47,000 patient visits annually. Developed, implemented, and maintained policies and procedures. Supervised registration, scheduling, medical records, and all administrative services required by patients. Hired, managed, and developed practice administrators for primary healthcare clinical sites throughout New York City. Evaluated performance and initiated or recommended personnel actions, including merit increases, promotions and disciplinary actions. Electronic Medical Record Implentation Successfully built and implemented a comprehensive electronic practice management and medical records system in thirteen family health centers. This two year project involved a $2 million purchase and coordination with the project team, IS staff, and consultants. Choose team of super-users from existing IFH staff Established security levels for all practice staff within the electronic system Supervised staff in the building of the system which included but was not limited to entering thousands of data points that would define how IFH would be using the system; this was based on the workflows created from the redesigned patient visit Coordinated schedules for training of all practice staff; this included creating a computer skills assessment tool and hiring a temporary staff person to teach basic computer skills to those in need Coordinated the practice roll-out by adjusting provider schedules and notifying patients

Training and Staff Development Created, managed and delivered all Institute training programs with specific responsibilities: Developed all managers from first time supervisors to senior management by implementing a comprehensive mid-level management training program. The learning was reinforced through classroom participation, assignments, and assessments. Implemented innovative in-house curriculum offerings and managed vendor delivered training Monitored all staff development programs, with progress reports and recommendations directly to the CEO Conducted staff training to meet requirements of the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO), Article 28, OSHA-safety, Infection Control, etc. Developed and implemented a mentorship program; currently, all participating mentees have returned to school to further their educations in the health professions.
