Ability to view calendars in multiple languages at once. Fully in Unicode As it is with other parts of the system, there's full support for any regional language.

Full Unicode (UTF-8) Support

Unicode support across the system means that everything can be localized into regional languages. Administration Console, WebMail, Outlook Connector All visual parts of the system run in Unicode. GroupWare folder names, account names and IM avatars can now be fully localized, including double-byte languages. Interface.xml file support added for those wishing to adjust layout to accomodate to new languages. Incoming email is by default stored in the original character and MIME/UTF-8 conversion is done whenever necessary. Account and folder names E-mail, IM messages, GroupWare data are transparently converted to Unicode whenever necessary. Even IMAP Spam Folder name can be localized to any language. No matter if data came from Outlook, mobile phone or on-line calendar, as soon as they reach GroupWare database, they are in Unicode. GroupWare items and email Support for all international characters sets without the need for conversion in client applications- solution to many incompatibility issues. Even language specific emails can now be checked for signatures of spam of any language. SpamAssassin rules Support in anti-spam engine allows creating language specific rules to filter spam in non-Western languages, either by users or centrally managed through the AutoUpdate technology. Filtering is performed upon messages converted to UTF-8 on-the-fly. Filters, Rules All server settings are stored in UTF-8 and messages received in other charsets are internally converted to UTF-8 and then the comparison is made.

API Enhancements
An alternative to remote Administration Console, especially for Linux administrators. Remote API connections API and command line utility is now capable of remote connections over RPC, allows remote management, scripting and performing actions not possible by other means, such as remote Export/Import of user accounts. Run commands locally on remote servers without leaving the comfort of Administration GUI. Run

Command and Capture Output Command (e.g. tool utility) can be run locally on the server while connected over a remote connection, when an RPC would present a security risk or won't be possible at all. Run "tool -h -t" and see for yourself what's it now capable of. Clean and simplified syntax Group commands, new methods, support for shortcut commands, updated command processing. Enables use of external databases with filters. For example you can create your own lists of tarpitted senders. SQL query filters support SQL statement action in Filters allows to keep own database of senders, make queries and insert statements to database, based on message contents. Important for troubleshooting of encrypted connections with other systems. Set SSL versions for server and client connections There's a possibility to set SSL method and version for server and client connections, accessible through GUI or API. With API and tool, there are 3 ways how things can be done, different just in level of automation. Backup and restore through command line tool Tool can create backups and restore backups from .mcb file from within the command line. There are endless possibilities of automation through scripts.

Server Engine Enhancements

MDA mode fixes email duplication issues caused by session timeouts. Multi-threaded MDA mode MDA mode is a separate queue for email processing, recommended for high-traffic servers with extensive filtering, external antivirus engines etc. Thread pooling allows to set maximum amount of threads allocated at one time. Also internal server traffic can be processed in MDA mode. MDA queue for internal delivery MDA internal message delivery- bounce backs, server generated messages, account forwards etc. will be placed to incoming queue and processed as incoming emails applying all filters, rules, antispam, antivirus and other. Run "config /forceconnect=host" to get connected to the specified "host". Force remote connection via Remote Administration Console People who perform 99% of server maintenance over remote connection can access the connection manager directly after startup of the config or even force the connection right away. /forceconnect=host parameter will find the host in the connection manager list and connect to it. If there is a password then it will authenticate automatically without the admin's intervention. If not the user will be presented with a password dialog. If host is not specified, only the connection manager will be popped up. Easily switch to a more powerful database engine, or migrate data between Linux and Window

servers. Now faster than ever. DB Migration tool- transaction support Database migration tool performs a conversion between a any supported database engines. Transactions support lets you migrate 1000s of records within seconds. DB Migration tool allows fixing corrupt databases in a snap. DB Migration tool redesign Now it completely ignores the source table so it may be corrupt, fields or values can be missing. It will still migrate all the fields that are present, which means it can be used to fix table structures. Complete integration of user accounts with Windows AD Domain Controller or any other directory service. Active Directory synchronization Integration of whole domain with Active Directory or other directory service, synchronization of users and user groups with their members. It is possible to specify charset of the LDAP server (if not running in UTF-8) in syncad.dat file. Any subset of users can be synchronized with Directory Service. Synchronization of arbitrary DN Administrator can define any DN (Distinguished Name) object, apart from the default Active Directory storage which is "Users". All cases of synchronization are possible (create a different domain in mail server, have a different email domain on AD and still use DN other than those). Company contacts can now be available to all users without retyping. Synchronization of GroupWare contacts through LDAP Not only e-mail accounts can be synchronized through LDAP with any directory service. Now you can also propagate user information to a GroupWare Public folder so the company-wide contacts are always up-to-date and available immediately to all users. LDAP has grown to a standard service of the server engine with full range of logging options. LDAP logging support LDAP has been changed to the original OpenLDAP implementation, which is now a mature product. There's support for two-level (Summary and Debug) logging of LDAP service to ldap/run/slapd.log. SSL encrypted queries can be made for even greater security. LDAP over SSL/TLS New version lets you use secured connections for LDAP queries. To enable this each host in the GUI has to have the protocol prefixed, if ldaps:// found then SSL LDAP is forced. More intuitive instaler allows to select a subset of modules, for even lower application foot-print. XML-driven component installer New component installer is suited for simplified or automatic deployment. Administrator can define which modules should be installed always or only once through an XML configuration file. Component selection offers a way to install Administration Console only or any combination of modules. On-line setup is only 500kB in size, which makes it well-suited for semi-automatic deployment. Web-enabled, lightweight installer Light-weight installer will download missing installation data from Internet, depending on the modules selected for installation. Saves bandwidth and download time on slow lines. An option for system integration and future extensibility, adding to already broad range of options for integration with 3rd party systems. UDP Notification messages engine SMTP, POP3 and IMAP
Page 6/13 Powered by IceWarp China

http://support.icewarp.cn:32000/index.php?_m=news&_a=viewnews&newsid=1

changes can send notification messages to UDP server (SNMP) using a simple protocol and syntax. This is a new feature which can be used to notify a special UDP server of any action based on email account instantly. It can be enabled via the API where you have to specify the host, port and the active flag. Actions such as mail delivered, created new IMAP mailbox, deleted mail, deleted mail folder etc. will be sent to the UDP server. What is it good for? Well suppose you have some kind of an indexing server or synchronization server when you want to be notified instantly of any change on the server for each account (push a newly created groupware event for instance). Server will be notified of such action and can conduct any other steps required. More convenient management of Remote accounts. Remote account management enhanced Search for remote accounts in all domains, new remote accounts have preset schedule set automatically. Based on request from our valued customers- you know who you are. Archive Outgoing messages New mode has been added to archive only outgoing messages. In total there are three options: Recieved, Sent, Both. Archivation has been moved to Mail Service node. Return-Path header can be added automatically to each messages passing through the server. Option to add Return-Path header in SMTP Delivery It simply adds a new Return-Path header as in SMTP RFC 2821. Those who want to use it will know. For improved compatibility with certain MTAs.

Administrator can view total number of connections for all services at once. Number of Total connections for all services In Services list now Total connections made since the last start are displayed. Finally one does not need to select the service in Statistics node one by one to see the number of connections but it can be seen directly from the services and you see all totals for all services. Enables monitoring of disk space occupied in any path available from the server. Disk space monitor supports full paths and disk names Monitors disk space of full paths, disk names, symlinks/junctions, admin can specify what additional path he wants to have checked. Useful for quick visual inspection of session status. Session status indicator When message is received (before actually processing with filters) the success state is used, in Session Monitor such sessions will appear with green icon (message was received but not processed). RSET turns the session back to Active state- a yellow icon. Once an email is received and filtering (antispam, antivirus etc.) begins it turns green. Useful to know if there are problems with the filters or if they simply take too long to process. Templates use several levels for more flexibility with multiple domain installations. Templates: global, default, domain Default global templates define default options and are automatically applied when creating a new account/domain/item. Non default must be manually selected when creating an account. Domain has also a new tab call "Templates" so you can define own templates for a domain. If a domain has no templates the global ones will be used. If it has templates only these templates are available. Domain templates cannot define a domain template but only account

Page 7/13 Powered by IceWarp China

http://support.icewarp.cn:32000/index.php?_m=news&_a=viewnews&newsid=1

templates. Templates use inheritance and merge logic known from object oriented programming. Templates Inheritance and Merge Global and Domain templates are merged, meaning that templates from both global level and domain level are available. If there are templates in the local domain and also on the global level then if the user creates a new account and there is not default template for this type of account in the domain, the global level will be checked for default template. If found it will be applied. Quick setup of mailing lists without having to browse for members or copy and paste. Mailing list membership in user's properties Right after you create a new account (or just edit an existing one) you can directly specify the user to be member of any available mailing lists from the same place. In addition there's still the option to directly specify group and friends membership. Improved password security prevents weak passwords. Password policy - Number of alpha characters Specify the exact number of alpha characters in passwords users must obey. A security measure preventing users from entering weak passwords consisting of just numbers. Improved login security prevents dictionary attacks. Login policy- Block account for specified amount of time. If password fails to be entered correctly in a given number of tries, nobody will be able to login to the account for the whole time period no matter if the password is correct. Improved login security with time penalties for systems with strong password policies. Login policyDo not block and delay authentication- 30 second delay penalties will be performed for each unsuccessful attempt, but it will be possible to unblock the account by entering correct password. Even the correct authentication will be penalized. Look back in history and exactly specify the intervals of interest. Traffic charts history Displays traffic history of any traffic type within an interval specified using drop down and new edits. Content filters are enhanced by account rule actions and SQL statement conditions and actions. Content filter new actions Content filters support complete IMAP message flagging. DB SQL conditions and actions allow to query any DB via SQL statements and also update the DB using the filter action. Color up the day with automated server-side message flagging. Color IMAP message flags This is a great new feature users will love. Apart from the usual Seen, Answered, Forwarded etc. some email clients also support color labels and more. In WebMail and Outlook they are supported by Account Rules for users to create own rule and action to automatically set these flags: Flagged, Seen, Junk, NonJunk, Label1..Label6. When such a message is received to the mailbox, you will see immediately the flag set in Thunderbird and Outlook, as flags are stored on the server and also rules are resolved on the server and not in the mail client.

Anti-Spam Enhancements
Page 8/13 Powered by IceWarp China

Multiple ways of spam management, some of which can be used together. Quarantine Management and Spam Reports Quarantine offers easy spam management of messages reaching specified tresholds. Multiple ways of management: domain administrators can manage spam for their domain from WebAdmin, users can manage quarantine from WebMail, semi-automatic authorization of quarantined senders via Challenge-Response. Spam reports can be sent on a daily basis to users of POP3 accounts, while IMAP users can find spam automatically separated into Spam folder. Faster application of rules improves SpamAssassin performance. Multi-threaded RegEx engine for SpamAssassin Multi-threaded RegEx engine allows faster parsing of message content. Previously it was precompiled with only single-threaded RegEx engine. Even language specific emails can now be checked for signatures of spam of any language. UTF-8 rules for SpamAssassin Support in anti-spam engine allows creating language specific rules to filter spam in non-Western languages, either by users or centrally managed through the AutoUpdate technology. Track number of hits to individual SpamAssassin rules. Useful if you create your own and wonder how often they are being applied. SpamAssassin Rule Statistics When enabled by spamassassinrulesstats parameter in spam.dat file, rule statistics features record number of hits and saves them each midnight to defined filename, which can contain "yyyymmddhhnnss" time variables. Rules with no hits over a long period can then be removed safely removed to improve SpamAssassin performance. Full support for DKIM in server engine, doesn't require Anti-Spam as such. DKIM, DomainKeys and domain literals DomainKeys Identified Mail with all the supportive technologies is an effective anti-spoofing method originally proposed by Yahoo. Option to remove an address from blacklist/whitelist by sending a message. WL/BL Learn Rules Learn rules, formerly known as indexing queues, now also allow to remove a blacklisted or whitelisted address through the list server tag REMOVE, for example by sending "BL spammer@domain.net, REMOVE" formatted message to the learn rule blacklist account. One of many autowhitelisting features, taking advantage of integrated IM Server. IM roaster bypass feature Jabber IDs from Instant Messaging client roasters will be automatically bypassed from Anti-Spam processing and their messages never marked as spam. Improves Anti-Spam effectivity for messages with a suspect attachement. New PDF rules To deal with PDF spam, an option has been added to score messages with an attachement, which has a defined extension and falls into defined size limitation. New body filter was introduced. Body filter- No intermediate server in Recieved header Option to score messages with no intermediate server in Received header. This is based on the fact that spam is in many cases sent directly to target mail servers. Get the most out of RBL servers. Support for extended RBL server responses Support for extended
Page 9/13 Powered by IceWarp China

http://support.icewarp.cn:32000/index.php?_m=news&_a=viewnews&newsid=1

RBL server responses improves RBL effectivity. A very effective Anti-Spam measure but potentially likely to produce false positives. Use in combination with Quarantine and Autowhitelisting. Greylisting introduces a new option - Owner mode, to greylist either based on individual Email or whole Domain. Greylisting Owner mode Either every sender (if not whitelisted) needs to go thru the greylisting process for each recipient it sents email to, or now the Owner mode can be set to domain. This way the sender will have to send the email to the domain only once and since authorized it will never be greylisted again. In the database the owner in such case is the whole domain and not just an email address of the recipient. B/W lists can contatin domains, work independently on Quarantine and can be populated from GUI Quarantine manager. B/W lists improvements Black and white lists can contain domain names, not only email addresses. They are independent on Quarantine mode, regardless of the quarantine access mode or even when the quarantine is not active at all, B/W lists are independent and work always as long as they are enabled in anti-spam settings. Senders can be blacklisted or whitelisted directly from the GUI in the message queue manager. Special option for bypass files to allow local senders through. Bypass rule for local senders/domain If bypass file contains "l:" then if the sender (Mail from:) is from local domain the bypass will be activated. A safety feature: when active, there is only one place where messages can be deleted from = Spam folder. Quarantine - Deliver removed messages to mailbox as spam Instead of deleting the expired records, the messages will be sent to users as spam (to Spam folder if enabled), that way users will have one place as the last resort before messages will be deleted completely.

IM Server Enhancements
JabberID can be emailed to and vice versa. Complete IM and SMTP integration Email Transport Gateway allows to route messages coming to SMTP to XMPP server and vice versa, to send email from within IM client. Conditioned delivery of email to instant messanger allows completely new range of applications. Support for "xmpp:" URL in Rules and Content Filters Server support allows for conditioned delivery of email to Instant Messanger, further extended by status syntax extension (e.g. xmpp:email?online will send a message only if the contact is on-line). Combine it with filter conditions (e.g. if not spam) and you have a powerful and flexible all-around messaging system. View events, tasks, notes from within instant messanger, your own or your colleagues'. IM and GroupWare integration GroupWare Monitor Gateway allows users to view status of GroupWare resources, Events, Tasks, Notes, own, public or shared, e.g. events@monitor.domain.com or john%tasks@icewarpdemo.com.

Administrator can monitor runnning services from within instant messanger. Service Status Monitoring Service Monitor Gateway allows to view status of services, smtp, pop3, imap, control, im, ftp, sip, gw, e.g. smtp@monitor.icewarpdomain.com. The status is queried from the server in 1 minute intervals. Informs of other user's FreeBusy status and events without leaving instant messanger. Shared calendars support Users can display own or shared contact's calendar items, Today, Tomorrow, Upcoming and FreeBusy status. Max 25 items can be viewed, GroupWare is quiried in 30 minute intervals. Should you require an up-to-the-minute information, just send a message to the roaster entry and the information will be refreshed. This is more like information that everything works smooth and complies to standards. Latest XEP implemetation and conformance testings Stream Compression, HTTP Binding, Privacy and Security functions, Service (Room/Transport) privacy processing, Dialback Key Generation and Validation. Very flexible way to limit users' access to services and gateways. Privacy Lists Through XML configuration files it's possible to define access rights of users to services of IM Server. One of the many autowhitelisting options taking advantage of integration of server subsystems. IM Roaster Autowhitelisting Contacts in roaster are bypassed from Anti-Spam checking and their users will never be qurantined or tagged. For smooth functionality with other Jabber servers. Server-to-server communication improvements Multi-location installations and offices who interconnect with public IM servers such as jabber.com, won't experience any compatibility issues. New GoogleTalk transport gateway. GoogleTalk Support Transport gateway for GoogleTalk has been added for better cooperation with external contacts from one place. For automatic population of user's contacts in a domain without any retyping or adding hassle. Shared Domain Roaster Administrator can place roster.dat under config/domain/ and all accounts from that domain will use that roster (all members will be automatically virtually added to their roster), users still can use their private rosters together.

GroupWare Enhancements
Unleash the full power of Outlook without the unwanted expense for Exchange server. Improved compatibility with Outlook items Private, Public and Confidential records handling, Reminder, Notification, Location, Attendees, Anniversary, Occurence, Recurrence, Exceptions, Holidays supported. The latest although non-standard Outlook vCard 2.1 fully supported.

Enhacements to support diverse range of data provided by various SyncML clients. Improved compatibility with SyncML data types Complete support for SIF and Versit Object types, gzip compression. Thorough testing with Funambol and Sythesis clients and many native SyncML clients built in consumer and business cell phones. Import and export abilities might be handy for backup or finding causes of corruption. Import/export multiple user data Administrator can export data of multiple users or whole domain to an XML file, user can export own data through Outlook Connector, for recovery and migration purposes. The same for (multi-)user imports. Automatic synchronization of member contact information among members of a group. Group members synchronization with Contacts folder Members of a group will always find contact information of all other members in their shared Contacts folder, automatically updated whenever a new member is added. Groups are now the default object for sharing information with other features simplifying deployment of GroupWare.

SyncML Server
Initiate VoIP calls to any contact available in Outlook, without the need to retype the number or install additional software or plugins. VoIP Telephony Integration Thanks to close integration of the telephony system within server, users can dial directly from within Outlook. Their phone will ring when the call is established and is ringing the other party. Just pickup the phone and start talking. Those who use Outlook all the time don't have to go anywhere else to manage their email account. Email account settings Email account settings can be managed from within Outlook. Users can change password, create server rules, set auto-responder text, forwarder, signature. Plus minor redesigns to the GUI to make it more user friendly. If there's any message duplication, the fastest remedy is to just press a button. Remove Duplicates button to remove any possible duplicated messages If for any reason there are object dupliactes by clicking the button they will be all removed and put to the Trash folder. It is fast and compares multiple object attributes to make sure that really a duplicate is being deleted. No more missed events or reminders when travelling with Outlook Connector around the world. Automatic time zone adjustment to computer clock Users can roam around the world and their calendars will reflect timezone changes accordingly and appear correctly to users in other timezones. Nothing but adjusting the Windows time zone is required. Handy for recovery, PST troubleshooting and migration purposes. Import/export user data to XML file User can export own GroupWare (i.e. shared) data to XML file, which can be later imported back, all through Outlook Connector.

Allows operation of Outlook Connector behind Proxy server. Proxy server settings Connections to GroupWare server can be made over a proxy server in the middle, using hostname, port, user and password. HTTP CONNECT method (the same as for SSL over proxy) is used. Comprehensive set of message flags that will be retained no matter what email client is used. Support for color IMAP message flags Flags stored on the server can be set manually or automatically through server rules established again via Outlook Connector. They will appear the same in WebMail, as flags and rules are server-side.

Web Server Enhancements

RegEx rewrite rules implemented for great flexibility of redirections. Non-RegEx for backward compatibility. Apache mod_rewrite support RegEx URI rewrite rules with flags and server variables for greater flexibility. Non-RegEx URI rewrite rules perform path, protocol and hostname redirects. Also implies redesigned directory aliases, which do just that and nothing else. Specifies maximum number of allocated threads for web server at one time. Thread pooling Previously known as "Max threads", it has been renamed to "Thread pooling" across the server as that is the right terminology. Also for the web service a new tab was added so the admin can specify thread pooling for the web service. Dynamic content compression for faster loading. Content-Encoding: gzip Web server now supports dynamic content compression with gzip. User can specify the MIME types to be compressed and server will compress the files if the browser supports it (IE7, Mozilla). IE6 on the other hand exhibits serious problems. Prevents traffic peaks under certain conditions and improves handling of data intensive dynamic web pages. Transfer-Encoding: chunked If enabled in webserver.dat, script output (PHP) is chunked and size specification of the chunk added. This lets the server to keep the connection open when the script finishes although the size of the output from the script was not known to the browser. Originally if the script did not specify the size of its output all it could do was to disconnect the connection to inform the browser that it has all. This could cause to higher traffic (connecting and disconnecting) all the time. Temporarily disable a host for maintenance or testing by single click. Active checkbox for Virtual hosts ON by default, but if admin wants to disable any FTP or Web host temporarily by uchecking this option, it will result in disabling the host and when somebody tries to access it they will get "Server temporarily unavailable" message.
