A Leader in Industry-Specific Enterprise Software

Designed for the unique needs of key industries manufacturing, distribution, retail, hospitality, and services Epicor provides endto-end, industry-leading solutions and the domain expertise you need to increase operational efficiency and drive competitive advantage. INTRODUCES LEAN SIGMA:
Lean and Six Sigma are initiatives that were born from the pursuit of operational excellence within manufacturing companies. While Lean serves to eliminate waste, Six Sigma reduces process variability in striving for perfection. And yet even though both have been around a long time, Six Sigma in particular is often under-appreciated and misunderstood, especially outside the world of manufacturing. Evidence of this was apparent when my Tweet during the recent Epicor Insights 2012 event sparked what one Epicor employee called a Twitter war. While I wouldnt go so far as to call it a war, several comments ensued that made me think my fellow enterprise application industry observers were hardly up to speed on Six Sigma. FUTURE SCOPE: 1. Sales of complimentary modules, componenents, to existing clients will increase ,since most of the companies only acquired the basic modules.

2.Companies will continue to replaced their old customized system with standard applications, and an EPICOR is a probable choice. 3.Increases competition forces companies to take better advantage of the IT support, which has been somewhat neglected in most of the companies. 4.The increasing globelisation make it difficult for the companies to have total control on their organization .The EPICOR system is the latest tool to facilitate this control. CHALLENGES : 1. ERP Implementations take longer than expected. Key Reasons: Unrealistic expectations of implementation duration Inadequate accounting for business-oriented activities Software customization and/or mismanagement of project scope. 2. Epicor projects go over budget. Key reasons: Unrealistic project plan and cost expectations

Hidden costs associated with implementations Underestimated project complexity. 3. ERP projects fail to deliver expected business benefits Fact: Only 50% of companies who have implemented an ERP system realize at least half of the business benefits they expected

Key reasons: Failure to manage the software vendor and project scope Inadequate definition of functional requirements Misalignment of ERP business software with business processes Unrealistic ROI expectations

4.Payback period of an ERP project varies from less than one year to more than five years Fact: Most ERP projects have a payback period between one and two years; 29% of companies have not recouped the costs of their ERP projects Key reasons: Inaccurate estimates of duration and cost Unrealistic expectation of benefits and ROI

Lack of clear project objectives Poor project design, management and governance.
