Aishah Almajedi Professor Ashlyn Williams English 1102 20th February, 2013 Strengths and Weaknesses My strengths are based on the ability to have a chronological record of happenings and introducing these happenings successfully. The introduction was also captivating since it enables the reader to comprehend the setting where the reported data was gathered from. This includes effective description of the physical features, equipments and individuals within this setting and how all these components interacted within the library system. An example is that I was able to record the sitting arrangement, formation of groups and what was happening in each group. This includes the floor in the library where each group was seated and the composition of the group. My weakness was that I was not able to interact effectively with the group. An example for this is that I was not able to comprehend what each individual in the group was doing, their problems, and their main reasons of joining the group. Moreover, the observation question did not extend to staff members in the library who would have assisted in gathering of more information on the behavior and trend of students while in the library. Helpful and Unhelpful comments All the comments provided were helpful. Comment 1 and 3 acted as a source of motivation and appreciation of the work that I had done. These two comments created a platform for focusing on addressing the issues that were raised in comment 2 by the peer responder. On the other hand, comment 2 was helpful since it enabled in discovering what had been overlooked in the report. This comment provided a clear insight of what adult literacy is. From the comment, it was possible to focus on identification of the roles played by each of the group members as we were discussing in the library. Aspect of paper to pay attention to The aspect of the paper I would like you to pay particular attention to is the arrangement of the happenings. This is because the paper first gives a concise introduction of what it entails and the surrounding environment of the library. This includes a brief description of the physical appearance of the library and its contents. From there, the paper identifies the role and uses of the library with a bias on who are the main users of the library. Further, the paper is able to identify how users come to the library, what they bring to the library, and what they do in the library. This includes the time when majority of the users visit the library. Finally, the paper identifies a practical event that was taking place in the library. This was the group discussion, which took place in the library. The analysis focuses on the behavior of group members during this discussion and how the group was dissolved. This indicates that students have different levels of comprehending and some are first while others are slow learners. This necessitates the need for students to form group discussions with an aim of assisting each other in the learning process.
