VISVESVARAYA INDUSTRIAL & TECHNOLOGICAL MUSEUM (National Council of Science Museums) KASTURBA ROAD, BANGALORE - 560 001 DETAILS OF ADVERTISEMENT NO. 1/2013 Applications are invited for filling up of the following posts at Visvesvaraya Industrial & Technological Museum, Bangalore & District Science Centre, Gulbarga.

1. Lower Division Clerk : 1 Post (Reserved for OBC for District Science Centre,
Gulbarga) Pay Band of ` 5200-20200/- with Grade Pay of ` 1,900/- plus allowances as per Govt. of India rules. The total emoluments at the start as on date will be `14757/-. Essential Qualifications : 12th class pass or equivalent qualification from a recognized Board or University with English typing speed @ 35 w.p.m. (35 w.p.m. correspond to 10,500 KDPH on an average of 5 key depressions for each word). Typing Speed test will be taken on computer only. Knowledge of Hindi Typing is desirable. Age Limit : Maximum age as on 1.4.2013 should not be more than 33 years, which is further relaxable for the Physically Challenged candidates and Ex-Service Personnel as per the orders of the Govt. of India. Job Description : Typing & photocopying, preparation and processing of bills; making entries in various registers, ;ledgers etc., and upkeep thereof; handling purchase and stores, compilation of facts and figures for reports, statements etc., cash handling and cheque writing whenever required; issuing entry tickets to the visitors and any other work entrusted by superiors from time to time.

Technician A: 2 Posts (unreserved) for VITM, Bangalore in the trades of Electrical and Carpentry.

Pay Band of ` 5200-20200/- with Grade Pay of 1,900/- plus allowances as per Govt. of India rules. The total emoluments at the start as on date will be `16647/-. Essential Qualification & Experience: Matriculation with certificate from Industrial Training Institute or equivalent in the trade of Electrical or Carpentry, as the case may be with 1 year relevant experience after obtaining the ITI Certificate. If the ITI course duration is less than 2 years, 2 years relevant experience after obtaining the Certificate is essential. Job Description : Operation, repair fabrication, handling, packing, installation and or maintenance of exhibits/equipments/instruments/installations.

3. Artist A - Artist A : 1 post (unreserved) for VITM, Bangalore Essential Qualification & Experience: Certificate in Fine/Commercial Art from a recognized institution, after Matriculation, with one year relevant experience. If the certificate course duration is less than 2 years, 2 years relevant experience after obtaining the Certificate is essential. Pay Band of ` 5200-20200 with Grade Pay of ` 1,900/- plus allowances as per Govt. of India rules. The total emoluments at the start as on date will be ` 16647/-. Job Description: Lettering, painting, screen printing, handling, installation and exhibition materials, assisting in art layout and model making. General: The incumbents are liable to be transferred to any science museums/centres under the control of NCSM anywhere in India.
