ADVENTURES IN UPCYCLING!
RULES & INSTRUCTIONS

There are no age restrictions on contestants. Entry must be created using discarded and/or recycled materials as the primary component. New materials or equipment may be incorporated into your entry, however, a majority of the entry should be comprised of discarded/recycled material. Entries are classified by one of the following categories: grades K-8; grades 9-12; adult; senior (age 60+); and entries may be submitted by individuals or groups (family or other). A kick-off meeting will be held on Monday, March 11, 2013 at the Moorestown Public Library (North Church Street and Second Avenue in Moorestown), to review the rules, handout entry forms, see examples of upcycled materials and meet with experts. Local professionals experienced in electricity, hardware, construction, painting, plumbing, and others, will be available throughout the contest to answer questions at no charge. Entries must be delivered to the Moorestown Public Library at the corner of North Church Street and Second Avenue in Moorestown, NJ, on Thursday, May 30, 2013 between the hours of 4:00pm and 8:00pm. Entry must include a completed Adventures in Upcycling! Contest Entry Form. A panel of judges will determine the 1st place and Honorable Mention winners of each category. Entries will be on display at Moorestown Day (June 1, 2013) at Sustainable Moorestowns table, location to be determined. Visitors to the table will be asked to complete a Peoples Choice ballet to select one overall entry winner. The winners of each category, as well as the Peoples Choice Award, will be formally announced and prizes awarded at Moorestown Day on June 1, 2013, at 2 pm. Participants are encouraged, but not required, to be present at the event. Winners must permit publication of their name and a photo of the entry. If the participant is present at Moorestown Day, the participants photo with the entry may be requested, but will not be required. Winners will be announced in local media following event conclusion.

All entries must be picked up at the Sustainable Moorestown table at Moorestown Day, June 1, 2013. Neither Sustainable Moorestown nor the Township of Moorestown will be responsible for entries damaged or lost while on display at Moorestown Day. Bring the following with you on May 30 when you drop off your entry: -Photo of originating discarded material -Entry form Keep in touch! You are encouraged to take photos of your progress and submit photos and updates, questions and comments to our email address and Facebook page.
