Ss listen to five people talking about their lives. They then read two texts about normal men and women and exchange information about their texts. Ss look at meaning of different phrasal verbs connected with relationships ask each other questions using these phrasal verbs. Ss listen to four people talking about what can go wrong on a live TV show. Then they read texts about two contestants who were caught cheating on quiz shows and exchange Information about them. Ss role play a situation in which editors of a newspaper decide which stories go on the front page of a newspaper.

Ss then discuss whether they feel these things are a waste of money or not.
