OSTROG REGION RED WINE (PODOSTROSKI VRANAC) Bjelopavlicis Wine Growing Hill Montenegro Under the Ostrog Monastery, 400 m above the sea level, one more shrine has been recently renewed, namely the wine shrine of its capacity of 60.000 litres. We are saying renewed since in the remote XV century, in the time of the family Crnojevic, the whole area under the Monastery Ostrog, was widely known for its vineyards and excellent wine served in the Venetian courts. Experience of ancestors together with state of the art technologies and most up to date knowledge represent a combination which provides best results. Our results are high rewards for the quality of our modern basement wines and winery received for less than two years. In most beautiful Montenegrin vineyard, underpinned by kilometres of rock walls, in recent years, new old Montenegrin wines have been growing. Without irrigation and synthetic components in the vineyard, with minimum interventions on the wine, from the intact Ostrog land, one more highquality wine Podostroski Vranac - was produced. Over 2400 sunny hours over this holy land, provide the wine with an additional savour. The wine combines different flavours including that of blackberry, eglantine, plum and fig. Purple colour along with Mediterranean plenitude, mild delicacy and soft acidity will fill you with pleasure. In order to fully sense savours of Podostroski Vranac, you should serve it at 19-20 C. If it is served with some of local specialties: prut, carp, fish soup, kastradina and other recognizable dish from your place of origin, the pleasure will be even higher. After visiting the Monastery, this wine of its amazing exotic aroma, will fill your soul and really invigorate you in an intact nature of the Ostrog rock with an endless view on Bjelopavlici lowland, but will also evoke vivid images and memory on the Ostrog Monastery if you drink it at your homes. planted along with wooden perch including: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah and Viogner. Each grapevine has three clusters cultivated very carefully. Winery and vineyards were grown with a benediction of Metropolitan Amfilohije of Montenegro, who personally made them holy. Cheers!
