As a member of Wives Behind The Badge it is my duty to reflect the Law Enforcement Officer Code Of Ethics in all I do in the name of or while conducting business as a member of the board of directors, staff, auxiliary directors, or volunteer.
These are the opening pages to our MP&P. Our loved ones take this oath to protect and serve and as an extension of and support for their positions we too as members of WBTB try to emulate their vow as ours in our lives as spouses, parents, community members, and as volunteers with WBTB.
Professional Conduct Wives Behind the Badge, Inc. Manual of Policy and Procedure CODE OF ETHICS As a Law Enforcement Officer, my fundamental duty is to serve mankind; to safeguard lives and property; to protect the innocent against deception, the weak against oppression or intimidation, and the peaceful against violence or disorder; and to respect the Constitutional rights of all men to liberty, equality and justice. I will keep my private life unsullied as an example to all; maintain courageous calm in the face of danger, scorn or ridicule; develop self-restraint; and be constantly mindful of the welfare of others. Honest in thought and deed in both my personal and official life, I will be exemplary in obeying the laws of the land and the regulations of my department. Whatever I see or hear of a confidential nature or that is confided to me in my official capacity will be kept ever secret unless revelation is necessary in the performance of my duty. I will never act officiously or permit personal feelings, prejudices, animosities, or friendships to influence my decisions. With no compromise for crime and with relentless prosecution of criminals, All Wives Behind The Badge members shall be held accountable for their actions, conduct, and speech when these behaviors conflict with Mission or Code Of Ethics. When Families Behind the Badge was created, in the spring of 2011, Wives Behind the Badge wanted to also create a safe, and fun, environment for the children of law enforcement officers. We wanted a place, a forums section on the Wives Behind the Badge forums, for kids ages 9 to 17, where the kids could safely gather, to meet other kids living the same lives they live, as police kids. After much thought and consideration, Blue Line Kids was born. Blue Line Kids is not only a forum, but also a program centered around the lives of police kids. Through our forums and local events, we hope to create a fun, educational, and supportive group where our kids feel comfortable and welcome and find lasting friendships.
