In other words, its not easy!

stressors are ramped up even higher. (Actually they are pretty intense regardless of whether you are a military family or not!) We are trying to sell or rent our home in a matter of months (usually 4-6 months), ensuring we getting the right price and then prepping for the next duty station is very common place. And if our military member is deployed, then we, as the spouse at home, accomplish these tasks alone. Luckily, there are tons of resources for these situations! Each Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) has a program called Relocation Assistance. They offer classes on home buying and selling, workshops on making a smooth move, tips for helping your kids adjust the area and much more. If you are new to the area and need to borrow household items such as an iron, dishes, baby high chairs, sweepers, coffee pots and etc, then you may take advantage of the
Loan Locker. They even have a sponsorship class specifically for your children (ages 6-18) entitled, Kids in touch with Kids and if you want to know more about your next duty station, they have resources for that too. Lastly and this is probably the best part all of these services are FREE!! If you would like more information on the Relocation Assistance Program or any of the other MCCS opportunities, you can contact me and Ill be happy to help guide you to the best resource for you. In the meantime, enjoy the blooming flowers and trees, longer days, warmer weather and the anticipation of summer! ~Kara

This cake is pretty easy, and tastes amazing. First, mix the cake mix per box instructions. Add canned cherries (to taste) and add the juice (to taste) but save some for the whipped cream middle. When the cake is baked, set aside to cool. Use the heavy whipping cream and beat until you get stiff peaks of whipped cream. Slowly add in the rest of the cherry juice, but make sure it stays firm. You may need to refrigerate it to stiffen it. When the cake is completely cooled, spread the whip cream between the two layers and then ice the rest of the cake with the dark chocolate icing. Top the cake with the chocolate chips, and there you have a semi homemade, yummy cake!! Enjoy!
