What's an Anagram?
Take the letters of a word, like

Rearrange those letters to form another word, like That's a one-word anagram. Anagrams can be made up of more than one word, too. Just take out all the spaces and punctuation, rearrange the letters without losing any in the shuffle, and insert new punctuation to taste. For example: D E B I T C A R D is an anagram for B A D C R E D I T. As you might see, the most pleasing multiple-word anagrams are those that seem to have a twist of fate or a common-ness in theme to them. They seem to define themselves or act as synonyms.

Anagram Engines
There are several Anagram Engines, which let you type in a word or phrase, and come back with some rough possibilities for anagrams. Some are on the web, some you can buy for your own computer. Most phrases of over twenty letters will give you hundreds of English anagrams. It's then up to you to fish through them to see which ones have that crystalized truth about them. It's not as easy as it looks. Internet Anagram Server (I, Rearrangement Servant). A very simple server, it just lists every combination of English words that will occupy all the letters in your entered phrase. Anagram Genius from Genius 2000 Software. For Windows and Macintosh. An excellent product, it cuts down your sifting work by weighing the value of good words, and by rearranging the found words into grammatically correct phrases if possible.
