AP Human Geography Family Migration Project Objective: For students to apply the concepts of migration to the historical movement

of a member of their family. Directions: Create a trading card that describes the historical movement of any one member of your family (parent, grandparent, distant relative), associating their movement with the several concepts of migration included in this unit of study. Your trading card will include: Front (obverse) of trading card: o A photo of the your family member (migrant) Back (reverse) of trading card: o Migrants name, relationship to you, date (as accurate as possible) of movement/migration and original home(from where they migrated) and destination (to where they migrated) locations o A brief written summary of their movement. Your summary must include the following: The type of movement involved (internal or international?) What push/pull factors were involved in their movement? Any other information related to the concepts of migration. o Include a small map showing their path of travel. Format: o Your trading card must be the size of a standard piece of paper (5.5 x 8.5). o Information must be securely fastened to both sides of the trading card (lamination is optional). o Your trading card has been proofread for proper spelling, grammar and punctuation.
