Summary of answers from my questionnaires For my questionnaire I have asked 20 people who I would consider to be my target audience.

18/20 people said they would consider buying this magazine, because it is appealing, looks interesting and the boy band on the front cover is good looking. 1/20 people would not buy this magazine because are not a fan of boy bands, and thinks this feature is more advertised towards a female artist. And lastly 1/20 people are unsure whether they would buy this magazine this is because they are also not interested in the boy band, however would like to read about the female artist who is featured on the contents page.

2. What do you like about the front cover?

Overall summary of the answer to the question is that, 16/20 people said they like the image on the front cover, this is the main feature that makes them want to buy the magazine therefore can read about the band. 12/20 people said the colour scheme is attractive, and how the pink and purple match the props and artists clothing. 6/20 people like the cover lines, they are interested in reading the magazine because of what the cover lines are advertising.

15/20 people who answered my questionnaire liked my colour scheme because of the girly colours, the pink and purple match the clothing and props, matches the masthead and lastly very girly. 5/20 people did not like the colour scheme because they thought it was mainly targeted for girls, however was effective.

4. Do you like the main image? 20/20 like my image on the front cover, it is a well-known boy band who are popular with my target audience, however some said they would have preferred a female artist on the front cover, as it would appeal to males more. 5. Do you think there is anything I could do to improve my front cover? If yes why? The main answers I got from this question was: More masculine colours A female artist/mixed gender More cover lines

15/20 People like the layout of my contents page because of the variety of images, the colours, and how the text looks 3D. 5/20 people said the layout of the contents page looks too busy. They would prefer to see the less images and less text.

7. What are the strengthens and weaknesses of the contents page? The strengthens are mainly: Images Background 3D text Main image, looks like it 3D, jumping out at the audience.

The weaknesses are: Too Busy Text hard to read against colourful background

8. Do you like the images on the contents page? 20/20 liked the images on the contents page. Many commented on the main image, which looks 3D really stands out against the black background. The 3 three mini images, are also effective, however the image on the left looks slightly swashed on the page. 9. Do you like my double page spread? Why?

18/20 like my double page spread, however 2/20 disliked my double page spread. Many liked my double page spread because of the colours, photographs and the article is interesting fun, and an easy read. On the other hand it was disliked as it mainly was more interesting for girls, and has a lot of girly colours such as bright pink and purple.

10. What do you think of the images on the double page spread? 20/20 people loved the images on the double page spread, although the main image is slightly posed, it is still effective because of the layout, the props used. And makes the band look really natural, shows a different side of the band which was shown on the front cover. Also the three mini images, are also good as they show the band in action. 15/20 quoted they were good as they are natural and action shots, showing the band recording.

11.Do you think my double page spread looks professional? Most people said it looked professional because of the text, layout and images however 1/20 said the colour made it look unprofessional.

12.What do you think overall of my front cover, contents page and double page spread? Overall 20/20 liked my magazine. Mainly the front cover was the favourite, and looks the most professional. The contents page, is vibrant, shows connotations of fun which representing the genre of the magazine pop and hip hop/ 13.Lastly, do you think my magazine would be able to compete with existing music magazines?

15/20 think my music magazine would be able to compete with existing music magazine, because it is a stylish hip hop/pop music magazine. Many of my target audience would be interested in buying it, if it was published on the other hand 5/20 think it would not be able to compete as there are already

too many hip hop and pop music magazines, and believe it would be too difficult to compete with well-known magazines much as Vibe, Billboard and pop.
