President:

The EGO President serves as the official EGO representative at student and university events. The President meets at least once a month with the organizations advisor, and provides updates as needed. The President maintains consistent and positive relationships / communications with the USC Office of Campus Activities, Graduate Student Government, and the USC Rossier School of Education. The President also works closely with the EGO Vice President on planning the summer leadership retreat and senator selections, as well as new member elections in the spring. The President also works with the EGO Communications Chair to provide updates to student organizations, and may serve as an additional contact person between EGO and GSG to ensure proper use of organization budgets. Vice President: The EGO Vice President is primarily responsible for the administrative aspects of EGO, including securing recognition by the USC Office of Campus Activities and the GSG Finance Director. The Vice President ensures that EGO is officially recognized by attending a summer / fall orientation session and by submitting the proper paperwork / information to the office of campus activities. The Vice President works closely with the President on the organization of the summer leadership retreat for new student organization leaders, Election Month in the spring, and also assists in the recruitment and retention of EGO / GSG Senators during the summer. Social Chair: The EGO Social Chair has the responsibility of organizing social events throughout the fall and spring semesters, including tailgates during home football games, the EGO Welcome Back mixer during August / September, and the EGO End-of-the-Year mixer during either the fall or summer breaks. The Social Chair also works together with the social chairs of all the organizations in the Rossier School of Education, providing assistance with event planning and promotion, and may work alongside Rossier administrators on event planning (as needed or requested). Communications Chair: The EGO Communications Chair is responsible for maintaining and updating the EGO website as well as the EGO social media accounts (Twitter and Facebook). The Communications Chair also works closely with the EGO President, Vice President, Finance Chair, and Social Chair to develop and distribute weekly or bi-weekly email newsletters and pertinent communications to Rossier graduate students. The Communications Chair is also responsible for collecting and maintaining contact information for each of the student organizations in the Rossier School of Education, and may be asked by the Social Chair to develop promotional material (i.e. flyers or handouts) for specific EGO events. Finance Chair: The EGO Finance Chair is directly responsible for maintaining and managing the funds / budgets for each student organization as well as EGOs own budget. The Finance Chair also serves as a liaison and representative between EGO and the GSG Director of Finance and her/his committee, and assures that individual Rossier student organizations are meeting both budget and paperwork requirements and deadlines. The Finance Chair is required to attend a summer finance meeting held by the GSG Director of Finance, and must organize a finance workshop / orientation for all organizations under the EGO umbrella. In addition, the finance director is responsible for submitting, directly to the GSG Director of Finance, the following: a) budget proposal forms, b) expense request forms, and c) intent to use forms.
